Conflicted feelings on tanks DLC, tank armor needs looking at

So all of my experience regarding tank warfare is some Steel Beasts Pro, Wargame, Armored Warfare, and this.

There's a lot of good stuff in the DLC. The missions themselves were pretty kick ass. The campaigns I am working my way through, and they are quite enjoyable. The FCS is a welcome feature to a Steel Beasts vet, armored fighting has been significantly reworked from where it stood the last five years, etc.

I have some feedback to share on some other things that caused some confusion and concern however.

FCS: I feel like this should be set to track a moving vehicle with one press of the FCS key instead of requiring manual tracking, which could be thrown off by a player roughly dragging a mouse across a pad. The solution should still be useless if the vehicle alters speed or heading.

Rhino MGS missles: Who thought it would be smart for these to need a laser lock to use? These should either act as SACLOS (user-guided) missles with laser capability or be mostly discarded in favor of more SABOT ammo which the Rhino desperately needs more of.

Tank armor: This is the big one. Tank strength seems to be all over the place. I have played the TD show case as well as the tank campaign and something is very wrong here. In the TD showcase I expectedly failed to punch through the approaching CSAT tank's front armor during the ambush sequence at 2 kilometers. Ok, fair enough. Then I flanked around to the side. First SABOT goes through the drive wheel and stops the tank. Three hits to the side armor all fail to actually disable the tank and I am slapped through the face with a 125. Just to make sure, I restart- easily a dozen times. It seems that, at 1.5 kilometers, a 120mm AP round at a 60ish degree angle will not semi-reliably disable an enemy tank. The Rhino showcase is especially frustrating- you do not have enough AP rounds and you seem to need at least two per tank to properly "kill" them. One shot stops to the side seem incredibly uncommon.

When fighting in the Armata, then, during the tanks campaign, I became practically a mobile fortress in all but a few occasions. Enemy missles could not "hurt" me, not even repeated hits from the sides. At one point I took an ATGM to the back of the turret and suffered no damage other than the disabling of the commander's 50 cal. Without any sort of protection there I would think that at the bare minimum this would disable the turret, if not wreck the vehicle.

The only part of you that seems to be easily damageable are your components- your treads and guns. For whatever reason, the Marshall, Namer APC and every motherlover with a 40mm grenade launcher has it out for your treads. The Marshall was the most infuriating as I would watch a single 40mm round come in and "damage" my treads instantly. Besides this however actually getting penetrated and killed is such a rare event it's remarkable.

how to set up serverside mods?

im currently setting up a dedicated server for my MILSIM, however some of the mods wont initialize using their folder name.

for instance, I have a mod called X66 Mammoth Tank and, it's folder name is @X-66-Mammoth Tank v1.5, and when i call it in my commandline like @X-66-Mammoth_Tank_v1.5 it won't load.

I've installed it's keys and everything, it's just it wont call load, in the server logs it's saying it cannot even find the folder but it's able to call on all my other mods no problem.

I'm running into the same issue with another mod called, @UH-60 Pack A3, I call it in the commandline like, @UH-60_Pack_A3 however it throws the same error.

Where can I find the thing that I should be calling for it, kinda like the @VSM All-In-One Collection is called like @VSM_AIO.

Your favorite Arma moments?

I just now started playing Arma again, and I'm more hooked than ever before (I only have 110 hours). I'd like to ask y'all what your absolute favorite moments have been. From the campaign? Koth? Survival? Rpg? And what was it, shooting a heli down with RPG, good teamwork to takeover a tower?

It's only fair that I tell mine: We were playing KOTH and formed a random squad with the team and we kept reviving eachother and really hooked, no one was allowed to respawn. The passion, the way everyone screamed when one died, that was the best feeling in a video game ever. It was horrifying and hilarious at the same time. Quick shoutout to y'all on ArmaKoth

So tell me yours, what was y'alls favorite moment?

Private dedicated server not showing up on server list

A few months ago I set up a private dedicated server for my group of friends to use via a spare PC I had. It took me awhile to set it up but I eventually got it all running 100%, and had no problems whatsoever.

A few weeks ago I just recently built a new PC, and have a fresh install of Arma and all my mods etc, but thanks to Steam workshop, I have everything just the way I had it previously on my previous PC.

Now today I booted up my server rig, and am trying to connect via direct connect, like I usually did, and on my previous PC my server would appear immediately. Though now on my new PC, I can't seem to get my server to show up on my list even after waiting several minutes as I know that is sometimes the case.

I have done a complete mirror of my PC mod folders and the servers mod folders so they are identical.

Anyone have any idea what the issue would be?

**UPDATE***

I have managed to get my server to show on my server list when I filter search Internet servers, but it does not want to work for Direct Connect yet. Also, I'm getting a Connecting Failed error when I try to join, and by the looks of the modlist on the server browser there is some mod compatibility problems so perhaps I'll have to remirror them.

I solved this by updating TADST from 3.0.0 to 3.1.0, and by actually logging into Steam on the server rig and there was an Arma 3 Server Client update.

**UPDATE 2**

I have recopied my mod folders over to my server via FTP and I am still getting the mod incompatibility problems as before. This does not make sense because I am using the exact same files as far as I know.

Joystick axis input limited

I was trying to drive karts with a joystick and I found that, no matter how I set up my joystick (I've tried with my regular joystick and with my HOTAS), the steering wheel doesn't move all the way, as it does when I press a keyboard key. It reaches 50-75% of the wheel range at most. As I said, I've been playing around with the joystick dead zone and sensitivity in the game options, but that didn't work. And in case you are wondering, my joystick works fine.

Any suggestions?

SOLVED: Turns out that having multiple joysticks bound to the same control meant that the imput from one alone only had half of the effect.

Arma 3 Start Error: Application Configuration File Missing/Corrupted

Every time I try to start Arma 3 from Steam I get an error message claiming: "It looks like the application configuration file is missing or corrupted." It also says that: "Configuration system failed to initialize." And that there's a problem at line 11 in the Arma 3 launcher config file.

Has anyone dealt with this before?

Been dealing with this strange error for a few days, can't seem to find a fix for it.

Hi guys, i really hope someone could help me here. I bought a new router and since then i can see only few servers in arma 3 and I can't even connect to my favorite server through Direct connection. It doesn't matter if i used the in-game browser or the launcher one, same result.
