P1 slardar

What would be the downsides of carry slardar? I don't watch too many progames so I may be wrong, but I have the impression that this isn't really a thing, and I'm wondering why. The most obvious drawback is mediocre split push, but troll has that too (better at taking towers but even less ability to escape).

Bottle on support

Yesterday I played a game as Sniper mid and my friend was playing WD. As a Sniper I don't need runes unless it's a DD. My support can gank really well with a haste or an invis rune and it got me thinking, why don't support but bottle?

Pros :

  • you often pick bounty runes and thus get 2 charges refuelled to your bottle
  • you have to buy less regen
  • you can heal your allies
  • you can time the activation of the rune, wait for the good moment
  • other pros?

Cons :

  • it's not cheap
  • it doesn't give any stat
  • other cons?

So, what do you think about it?

How to lane against Huskar?

Hi all,

Just got out of a game as a CK against a huskar venomancer offlane (phoenix supp), and I got utterly destroyed, more so than any game in the past few weeks. I had died 6 times in the first 10 minutes. Every time I went near the wave I'd get attacked by both and would be too slowed to get under my tower and die.

Does anyone have any tips for dealing with this? If I was a jungler, I'd just leave the lane but I have no idea what to do in this situation. I tried swapping lanes but that didn't really work. If anyone could take a look at the first 10 minutes only and give me some advice that would be the best thing ever! The match ID is 3764498969.

RIKI CARRY IS BACK BOYS

Just played 1 game so take my advice with a grain of salt but this is the new meta. You basically just rush phase and diffusal and once you get those two items you just use the active, use smoke, and solo ult. This does such an insane amount of damage and can solo kill most heroes by the time you get it. You then go into basher as the high attack speed of your ult increases the proc chance. Try it out, the future is now.

Help with 1 vs 1.

So I have a friend who is extremely good; his medal is Legend. Meanwhile I am only a Crusader. However when we play I can choose my hero (obviously) but also his.

So...Which combination of heroes gives me more chance to win over him in a 1vs1? I mean what hero I have to choose for me and him to have more possibilities of winning?.

Moon shard on slark

With buffs to both slark and moon shard I figure now is a good time to theorycraft.

Getting an early moon shard gives slark a huge boost to attackspeed making essence shift much more powerful.

And by an early moon shard I mean a moon shard right after shadow blade/silver edge.

Is there some reason people don't do this or is it just because people are used to only buying moon shard to consume it instantly?

What option do you use for non-hero auto attack?

I've been playing core naga lately and I find having auto attack set to always is pretty essential as I can just tell the illusion to move to a spot on the lane where the creeps will come, and when they come in range it will start attacking them, and I dont have to tell each one to start attacking.

However, If I want to play lone druid, having auto attack on always is really annoying because I have to keep telling the bear to do something so it doesnt auto attack creeps. I've been playing around with having it set to what the hero is set to (standard for me) and having a hotkey to toggle it on/off, but it seems like a lot of extra work to do it that way.

Right click Nyx

Alright, the premise is fairly simple: right click Nyx from a mid role. Why? The hero either flat out wins or draws a lot of 1v1s and can deal with ganks well. Waveclear isn't the best, but Nyx acts as somewhat of a Dragon Knight early; instead of tower pressure though, it's gank pressure early on.

Some of you are gonna stop me here and say "You're just going for the 25 100 Agi talent, right? That's your premise?", and to that I'll say, initially, yea, that was my plan. However...this has kinda evolved into something a lot bigger. You'd still wanna get the 25 talent, but it's not necessary (it is a lot of fun seeing Nyx's attack animation for that though). Nyx is a hero that has built-in ganking tools, so I thought, why not amplify that in a different direction than normal?

Start with a Stout Shield and maybe Quelling, maybe a couple of Mangoes, maybe Aquila components, whatever. Skill build is normal; I opt for the 60 GPM since I'm planning on getting some neat items; dunno if people go the other one on Nyx normally. Rush Aquila in lane; this helps you to spam Impale more and all that good stuff. I go Treads, but I can see an argument to be made for Phase.

Then you get a Diffusal Blade. I've tried a bunch of different stuff; Yasha is mediocre, Midas works if you stomped your lane and you can take it easy, but Diffusal gives you the same thing Dagon does: solo kill potential. At level 12 with Diffusal, you can gank and kill a majority of heroes that are equally farmed as you. The damage boost from the item is pretty great. Additionally, the slow helps you to not get juked when casting Impale. From there, you kinda just build whatever you need. S&Y is ok, Butterfly works, BKB if needed, whatever.

I'm not 100% sold on this being legit, but I've had success, and Nyx tends to 1v1 a lot of heroes pretty well because of Carapace (as a right click hero having 2+ free seconds can be huge). Dunno. Send me some thoughts; this might have a place in some games.
