New Grand Exchange Teleport scrolls from Clues - how about West Ardougne instead?

Posted: 01 Mar 2018 03:35 AM PST

Or somewhere else which is also useful.

We don't need GE teleports when you can tune the Varrock Teleport there or use any T2+ luck ring.

Also hideyholes say you don't have enough space to take the items even when you do, happens every time I try to take the 3 items with 4 inventory spaces

Allow us to make Globetrotter charges with Fortunate components to keep them in demand. Clue items are crashing big time

Posted: 28 Feb 2018 10:47 PM PST

This will sink Fortunate components and create a steady demand for them and maintain the prices of clue items.

The new Puzzle box's are great! BUT!

Posted: 28 Feb 2018 11:36 PM PST

I love them, they are really responsive and they look absolutely beautiful! But, in the past 14 elites I have had 34 Puzzle box's and 4 Celtic knots. This just annoys me, there use to be an even amount, and now its all just bloody puzzle boxes. Please fix it up, they are getting really boring now!

Has anyone else noticed an increase in the frequency of puzzle sliders?

Posted: 01 Mar 2018 04:42 AM PST

Ever since monday's update I've noticed an increase in the frequency I get puzzle sliders compared to before the update (certainly on elite clues). I barely get any Celtic knots or no puzzle steps.

Is anyone else noticing this as well?

Edit: I've speculated that the system that determines whether a clue step has a puzzle is from back when clues were first introduced and that this underlying system allowed for this unintentional increase in frequency. I wouldn't be surprised if the mechanism 'rolls a dice' and every slider 'art' has a roll and then knots and no puzzle. That wouldn't be a problem with a relatively low amount of slider art, but this update introduced so much new art that it might have influenced the balance between those three options.

[Suggestion] Allow us to augment the level 75 globetrotter outfit.

Posted: 01 Mar 2018 03:06 AM PST

Please. The reason, in my eyes, is pretty simple. I need Venomblood for Saradomin Mages, I need Glow Worm for Lumbridge Swamp Scans. I need Mobile for everything else that doesn't have a teleport nearby.

I don't have the full outfit yet, but I think wearing it has a lots of perks that no clue hunter wants to keep taking off just to wear a different piece of armor for different clues steps.

Thanks for reading this.

Make tank armour have the same damage reduction in PvM as it does in PvP.

Posted: 01 Mar 2018 12:48 AM PST

Every time someone says that tank armour sucks in this game, they are almost immediately met with the same response that tank armour is OP in PVP, since damage reduction is more important than a small dps increase in PVP, since players are the most damaging "enemy type" in the game.

Ignoring the fact that most people who say tank armour sucks mean so in a PVM scenario, this still doesn't change the fact that the Tetsu armour in the wilderness is not the same gear as Tetsu in a PVM situation.

Let's take the superior tetsu body for example. This is among the most powerful items in PVP, with a 5.1% damage reduction in PVP, which is reduced to a pathetic 1.7% damage reduction in PVM for a tier 85 platebody. Why is this discrepancy a thing? It severely damages the useability of tank armour, to the point where the only tank gear that sees any use at all outside the wilderness is Achto, which is used more for the defensive resets than its raw stats, put that same effect on dps gear as low as GWD gear and no one will use achto outside of high enrage Telos. Tank armour should be buffed in PVM to have the same damage reduction as it currently does in PVP.

While I understand that this won't make them universally useful due to the philosophy of more dps = less time to get hit + more soulsplit heals +more kills/hour, tank armour being actually tanky would at least make it more useful for its raw stats for learners or tanks to actually reduce damage taken and food used, rather than almost unanimously regarded as trash as it is now.

Clue Scrolls - Bug Abuse

Posted: 28 Feb 2018 09:16 AM PST

Hi everyone,

We wanted to give you an update on the actions we've taken in response to the recent Clue Scroll bug.

Firstly, we take all forms of bug abuse very seriously. Where there is clear evidence that an account has been involved in, or associated with bug abuse, we will almost always take some form of account action. To that end I can confirm that we have permanently banned 4 accounts and temporarily banned 2 based on the evidence we've reviewed. We have left no stone unturned in our investigation and those who seriously misused this bug have permanently lost access to their account.

Secondly, we fully understand the concerns you have all raised. We acted decisively to minimise the impact this bug had on the health of the game, and our initial analysis shows that the effect on the economy has been negligible. Once we became aware of the issue we immediately locked all accounts involved as a precautionary measure, allowing us time to fully investigate and review those potentially involved. We then removed as many illegitimately obtained items from the game as possible by:

  • Permanently banned the accounts which abused the bug
  • Permanently banning accounts involved in real-world trading linked to the bug abuse (over 50 accounts)
  • Removing illegitimate items from genuine player accounts & replacing the items with the GP originally spent (essentially a refund)

We are working to remove every item which was injected into the economy as a result of this bug, we are satisfied that the majority have already been traced down & removed, and those involved in serious rule breaking permanently banned.

Our players are experienced gamers who understand RuneScape and we feel it would be fairly obvious to most people that this was not the intended way to earn rewards. Players should avoid sharing reproduction steps on social media, as it can attract unnecessary attention & ultimately cause more damage to the game.

Finally, we'll take time to review how this happened and what steps we can take going forward to prevent similar incidents from happening again. While severe bugs are exceptionally rare we recognise the impact they can have on our players, our community and the economy, and we will strive to do better.

Thank you to those players who took the time to flag this to us & for the continued support.
