I hope these aren't getting annoying, but here's another Operator design concept

Ty Ubisoft for removing dropshotting.

In the TTS they removed the ability to ADS while you are transitioning to and from prone.

Being a Rook main, you know what is the thing that breaks my heart the most after all these years?

Posted: 28 Mar 2018 09:03 AM PDT

That no matter how many times, how nicely I ask, how i put down my bag at the exact second the round starts.

I have yet to see a single operator that passes these plates around when I ask them to, no, all only think about themselves and only pick up their own.

it's sad.

Can we PLEASE have bomb site "A" and "B" still show up even if the defuser is dropped

Rainbow Six has turned into a completely different game since it got popular.

Posted: 28 Mar 2018 12:42 AM PDT

Whether you like it or not, R6 now is not even close to what it was like during the 6 months after it's release. TL;DR at bottom.

First of all, the developers are taking the game in a completely different direction, which is most evident in the new operators. Lion and Finka have simple abilities which can be activated anywhere at anytime. Of course, knowing WHEN to activate them requires some strategy, but for the most part, these are closer to Call Of Duty-like perks and killstreaks than they are gadgets. They require no placement or interaction with the map. Whether this is 'OP' or 'power creep' is up for debate. However, the new operators are without a doubt simpler to use - for example, Finka automatically revives all teammates from anywhere, while Doc requires you to point a gadget at them. Vigil is perhaps the best example of the direction this game is going towards. He is essentially a "selfish" Mute - he only blocks drones from seeing himself, not his teammates - with the tradeoff being that he does not need to place his gadget and carries it everywhere, with an unlimited number of uses (it has a cooldown however). Basically, the operators' gadgets are becoming more easy to use. Take this into perspective; all 20 original operators required you to place your gadget somewhere or aim it somewhere - with the exception of Glaz and Rook. None of them had passive abilities or unusually different guns (again, with the exception of Glaz).

When this game came out, you made a team composition. You picked an operator based solely on their gadget alone, and used it to help your team. If someone picked Thatcher or Thermite, it was near guaranteed that the other would be picked. If the enemy Fuze dominated last round, you'd be sure to have a Pulse next time you defended.

There are outliers, of course, but now most people pick an operator because it is their 'main', and one of the major influencing factors is their guns. They're looking to get as many kills as possible, which brings me to my second point: the playerbase has changed vastly.

I'm going to get straight to it: there is no teamplay anymore, unless you get your friends on. Basically everyone roams now, not having the patience to anchor. Jager dominated the meta because his gun allowed him to get quick and easy kills, not because his gadget helped his teammates. Caviera was in about 95% of casual games until Ela came out, who had a better gun. The objective room never gets touched because either the attacking team gets killed by roamers, or kills the roamers and wins before they even need to bother with the objective room.

Toxicity has also increased dramatically. Teamkilling and unwarranted votekicking is an epidemic. I get kicked daily for: not clutching, being level 158 and not having a rank (I avoid ranked for a reason), for trying to kick someone that TK'ed me, for playing an operator they wanted or do not like, or for absolutely no reason at all other than their amusement. If you play casual by yourself, you already know how much of an enraging experience it is. These players don't care about strategy, they don't care about teamwork, and they have a very short fuse (pun intended). I never talk about anything besides strategy with my mic (if I use it) and try my best to get along, yet getting kicked is a daily occurrence for me.

To top it off, Ubisoft is pouring more resources into a fucking zombies game mode, endless cosmetics, and expensive cutscenes than they are on fixing bugs and curbing toxicity.

I can't handle it anymore. Rainbow Six was my favorite multiplayer game, but has taken a complete 180 since it's release. I've played it on a near-weekly basis since I got it in Christmas of 2015, and I've been with you guys through thick and thin, but I just can't handle it anymore. Between the Call Of Duty operators, game-breaking glitches, and selfish playerbase, I'm not having fun with this game anymore. I don't need you to agree with me, but I do hope you understand if you've read this far. Sorry for the rant.

TL;DR: the new operators are simpler and more selfish than ever before, they are closer to heroes than they are operators. The playerbase disregards teamplay and is often toxic. Goodbye.

EDIT: I forgot about Tachanka, the ultimate 'patient' operator that has been ignored by Ubisoft for that reason: he requires patience, which no player has nowadays

EDIT 2: thanks for all the upvotes and replies, I can't get to everyone but I will try to

EDIT 3: for those of you who don't believe me about getting kicked for no reason
