TIL that you can tip Brahmin in Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Posted: 03 Mar 2018 04:54 AM PST Because pranks....pranks never change. Here's a fun little thing you can do. For some Brahmin in Fallouts 3 and New Vegas, if you crouch down next to them (with no weapon equipped) and press the interaction button, then you'll tip said Brahmin. It doesn't work on every Brahmin, but it works on a lot of them. It's a trivial thing, but I found it kind of funny when I found it out. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Mar 2018 12:59 PM PST A large portion of the NCR Veteran Rangers, seem to be ghouls, it sort of makes sense, especially seeing as how a lot of them were former Desert Rangers who were merged with the NCR following the Ranger Unification Treaty. Could that also mean that some, if not most of them, are the same Desert Rangers that survived the great war, becoming ghouls and and later serving the NCR following the treaty? [link] [comments] |
Eddie Winter should really be a bigger villain. Posted: 03 Mar 2018 01:39 AM PST Just finished the Long Time Coming quest, and I agreed that Eddie Winter is one of the most interesting npcs in the game. Those 10 tapes tell a dlc-level story of his exploits. He was complex, ruthless, intelligent, devious, and demonstrated in 10 recordings a vast potential to be a major villain.
And just like the scrapped combat zone, always chaotic evil gunners and all the other wasted potentially awesome moments in 4, you find Eddie Winter holed up in the ground, having done nothing for the past 200 years, and you gun him down after like 2 lines. The guy apparently had literally no plans of rebuilding a crime empire or even getting out of the hole to do anything in 200 goddamn years, wasn't waiting for anything in particular, and were just there for you to kill. That's not only underwhelming - it undermines his entire character. Winter deserved better - we deserved better.
This is from an archived post on this sub a couple years ago, but the OP wrote it so well that I can't help but wish with all my heart this was truly in-game. The story goes that after you finish the main quest, a holotape appears on Nick's desk at the agency:
"Message to Nick Valentine. You know, I didn't believe you were the real deal at first. Thought you were just another one of the Institute's crazy clockwork men gone haywire. But you know what? Only Nick Valentine has your particular mix of self righteousness, and complete cluelessness. What, you thought I was gonna spend 200 years in that little room? Waiting for someone to open it up like I was a sardine in a can? I was out of there more'n a century ago, pal. The guy you gunned down? His name's Benny. Professional actor from back before the war. Did impressions as part of his stand up routine. I always liked his take on me. Found him begging in Goodneighbor about 80 years ago, set him up in the old digs in case anyone from the old days came lookin'. Worst crime he was ever guilty of was a bad Elvis impression, and you gunned him down in his own home. Priceless! You always missed the stuff right in front of your nose. The fight ring just outside of my old digs? Never questioned that, didja? Got my second start there over a century ago. Who'd ya think started the Triggermen? I left Boston decades ago. Things like the Institute are bad for business. But that freeze-dried buddy of yours took care of THAT, didn't they? Didn't take 'em 200 years to crack a stupid door code either. Now that things have cooled off a bit, maybe I'll drop by for a visit. See what kind of toys the Institute left behind. Oh don't worry about when; I'll just drop in sometime. Mebbe we can have a chat about that new girl of yours, the one you got working in your office. Cute girl... Weird taste in men, but I guess that's to your advantage, huh tin man? Maybe I'll introduce you to some of the boys I recruited up in Ronto. They got some... creative ways of killings' people up here. Just know this; Winter is comin' to Boston. Bundle up. Eddie Winter - signing off."
Now tell me that isn't better. [link] [comments] |

Fallout Board Game figures my friend painted Posted: 03 Mar 2018 09:46 AM PST Posting this because he doesn't have a Reddit account, so I want to show him his stuff will get love if he makes one and posts his art and props he makes. He did a really good job on these I think, even added textures and small plants to the bases to make it resemble the wasteland's ground. Hope you guys enjoy. Sorry I'm no good at reddit and don't know the proper way to post imgur stuff. :( [link] [comments] |
Older fans of the classic fallout series how were the debate between fallout 1 and 2 back then? Posted: 03 Mar 2018 02:17 PM PST As the title says how what were the debates between the 2 games back then? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Mar 2018 02:51 PM PST I'm doing the mission where you eliminate "undesirables" with a squire and I have to eliminate mutants at Medford Memorial Hospital, but in order to kill the last mutants I need a master lock pick. I had my automation with the lock picking module do it but he failed. I can't pick it myself. Please, I don't want this kid saying how jealous the other squires will be, how exciting she is to start weapons training, etc. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Mar 2018 11:38 AM PST Stripping everything away from me (but the game left behind a couple of pistols on accident), and having no way to heal myself, I just wanted to power through the Pitt and do my best to get home as fast as possible. Yet going to get that fucker's iron ingots was a legitimately crazy and awesome experience. I had nothing but my 10mm, my half damaged laser pistol, and an Alien blaster. I had full amount of health and a good amount of ammo. I missed the Assault Rifle tho, leaving me with my pistols. I eventually crawl my way through the gates, looking at the Trogs consuming people's corpses. Blast a few and move on. But they just keep on coming and coming. I'm easily squeamish, and their animations legit terrified me to where I had shot any one of them in my sights. Once I climb the scaffoldings, I slip off, breaking my leg and setting myself at 3 bars left of health. Having no way to heal myself, I limped through that hell hole, literally watching every last corner terrified that a Trog will come out of nowhere to kill me. I legit felt helpless even when I had all the power in the world. I felt genuinely lost and scared and never wanted to leave a place more than the Pitt. Hearing a bullet being shot at me while I was stumbling around made me jump out of my chair and dwell into ultra panic mode. This was an incredible experience and it taught me to give not cheating for a run a try. I've always in some way cheated in all my runs but that sense of hopelessness was something that I would love to experience again. [link] [comments] |
Does anyone still monitor the vaults? Posted: 03 Mar 2018 04:56 AM PST I know there are still some people dedicated to the vaults' experiments (Vault 88 overseer for example) so I was just thinking, are there any vault-tec personnel still monitoring the vaults? I'm not too familiar with the lore so apologies if this has already been addressed. Cheers [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Mar 2018 01:18 PM PST In the setting that is. Did they just stop making new music altogether over a hundred years prior to the war? (Exceptions such as Magnolia of course). Is there a theory for this? [link] [comments] |
Looking for settlement mods(Xbox) Posted: 03 Mar 2018 01:00 PM PST Ok I was woundering if anyone knew about a mod for xbox that adds in a good new fully functioning settlment with good building space. Im just tired of building on all the vanilla settlments. Thank you! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Mar 2018 07:38 AM PST Though FO4's storyline isn't as solid as many had hoped it would've been, it still gave us a decent and expansive sandbox to play around with. If you were the lead writer, what alternate plot would've been perfect for a Fallout epic set in the Commonwealth? [link] [comments] |
What does Follows-Chalk mean by "Spitter plants and green monster men"? Posted: 03 Mar 2018 09:59 AM PST "The spitter plants and green monster men aren't native to Zion. I wonder where they come from.". What is he referring to? Never completed the Zion DLC; doing it ATM. [link] [comments] |
Old world radio is not working for some reason please help Posted: 03 Mar 2018 02:34 PM PST So I recently downloaded old world radio and the stations apear on my pip boy but the stations don't play any music. All of my other mods are working any idea why it's not working [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Mar 2018 02:06 PM PST Hi running FO4 on really good gaming laptop, specs are not the problem. But whenever I alt-tab it makes the game smaller and blurry/grainy. I have tried Windowed/Borderless mode, but that makes it not even cover the whole screen. HELP. Edit. I am extremely stupid and was able to fix this. I am sorry for wasting your time, fellow wastelanders. [link] [comments] |
What is a good way to level up after beating basically everything? Posted: 03 Mar 2018 10:15 AM PST I have no more quests to do (except for some small random encounters maybe). I discovered every place, played through all DLC's fully (except a small part of far harbor, but the story is completed). Except for that small undiscovered part in far harbor, what else could I do? Posted: 03 Mar 2018 05:07 AM PST I heard there was a survival mode now, is it possible to turn my current save to survival or would i have to start over? And if so how.. also whats the difference between normal and survival? Im playing on pc! Thanks [link] [comments] |
All of my mods seemed to have uninstalled themselves - any reason why?? Posted: 03 Mar 2018 01:49 PM PST My previously installed mods are still saved in my library, but have been replaced with 3 random mods I never installed. This happened to every account on my XB1 [link] [comments] |
Disappointed in a new weapon I got in Fallout 4[rant] Posted: 03 Mar 2018 05:44 AM PST I've never used a flamer in FO4, but I found a legendary flamer that ignores 30% of damage and energy resistance. My character immediately fully upgraded it in every way. I'm level 52, I used it on a trapper in Far Harbor, and his health went down 2 pixels per second. I don't want to read weapon statistic tables, I don't want to maximize my damage output with the mathematically perfect combination of drugs, perks, etc., etc. I just want my fully upgraded penetrating legendary flamer to burn things to death :( P.S.: I love Fallout 4. I know that isn't a popular opinion, but I don't want this to be another FO4 complaint post. It's more like a "my level causes high-leveled enemies to spawn that are immune to my maxed out weapons" complaint post. [link] [comments] |
Any way to get back old deleted saves in FO4? Posted: 03 Mar 2018 12:49 PM PST I was recently recollecting on my first FO4 games that I played without mods. Being an idiot, I had deleted those thinking that I would never play them again. These are the saves I used to get the achievement ending for all the factions. So they are all end game. I want so bad to go back to them now and play end game for each faction with mods. I'm a lazy shit so I never got to end game with my new characters. I know this is an easy lookup but I want to hear from you guys. I'm playing on PC btw. [link] [comments] |
Help: 4 deathclaws are attacking me, Have Service Rifle and a suppressed pistol. Help?FNV Posted: 03 Mar 2018 11:51 AM PST EDIT: I'm not back tracking, or cheating, so i better have a proper NCR burial. Trying out Survival difficulty Posted: 03 Mar 2018 11:46 AM PST I'm actually really liking the game on survival difficulty. I really like how you actually have to build up your resources and explore the area around you before jetting off to Diamond City at the first chance you get. I'm going to stick with the Minute Men until I get the option to join the Brotherhood of Steel, I figure my chances of surviving are best that way. [link] [comments] |
