That's murloc for "Welcome to Murloc Mondays - where people can ask any type of question about WoW without getting Strangles by a Death Knight.
Questions can range from whats new in Legion, what class is OP, and how many Demons will it take to down Thrall?
Questions can come from brand new players, players returning, or veteran players who never got a chance to ask the right question.

[Theory] Four old gods, four suits - BFA protagonists are all part of a bigger game, a card game of doom.

"The king of diamonds have been made a pawn"

There's been many theories about this enigmatic phrase with many seeing Magni as an unfortunate servant of the old gods. But another interesting point of view has been broaded up on this subreddit showing us that this phrase could be interprated way differently through Cartomancy: The king of diamonds is a symbol a power through trading and accumulated wealth, thus being closer to someone like Gallywix. This opened so many possibilities, my mind went wild trying to figure out what characters would fit as cards.

That's when I started to realize recurring patterns and common themes amongst some of them, themes that could fit each of the four Old gods themselves. Here's a little list of each symbol and characters that would fit there:

♦ Diamonds are characters who constantly seek an accumulation of power through wealth. They are of an independant type who would never serve anyone other than themselves. (or at least not willingly)

  • Ace - C'thun - The diamond shaped pupil gives C'thun the straight-forward ability of pure destruction. All he needs are mindless servants who can provide him with energy, like the Qiraji and the Twillight hammer. With the destruction of Silithus and the emergeance of Azerite C'thun is getting more and more fuel, getting ready to unleash annihilation sooner or later.

  • King - Gallywix - It's pretty clear now that Gallywix only has one priority in his life: Gaining more power, more money, more Azurite. Like C'thun, he only needs mindless employees and robots to collect things for him and turn the energy into weapons of massive destruction.

  • Queen - Azshara - Azerite has been emerging all around Azeroth, and as you know most of its surface is underwater. It would only be natural for Azshara to be the one exploiting it, while other races would require technological or chamanic support to do that.

  • Jack - Wrathion - This one is less obvious: The Jack of Diamonds is sometimes called the Laughing Boy, his intentions are never truly clear but we least know that he seeks the same power than his father Deathwing (who ended up as an incarnation of destruction). The problem is Wrathion doesn't have any dragon to serve him, he can only get power through wealth and mercenaries. Maybe he'll be interested in Azurite for his schemes.

♣ Clubs are characters who gained authority and respect thanks to their intellectual capacities. They're very vigilant for the well-being of their own kind, contrary to the Diamond characters.

  • Ace - Yogg-Saron - Despite his all-devouring appearance, Yogg-Saron's true force has always been his brain and his mischievious schemes. To kill him ingame you actually need to hit his brain in a Clover-shaped room while he tries to affect your mental sanity. Madness is his power.

  • King - Gelbin Mekkatorque - One of the greatest minds on Azeroth, elected as a leader by his own kind for his great inventions and contributions to Gnomeregan. His main priority is to fight Leprosy, a grave contamination that destroyed many gnomes sanity: Maybe will he find a solution through Azerite? He's the most capable of fighting against the armies of Gallywix and even Azshara, gnomes are the masters of submarines after all.

  • Queen - Thalyssra - New leader of the Nightborne, Thalyssra always shown herself vigilant for the well-being of her people. Many of them fell to madness, definitively whitered lacking mana to sustent their hunger. She's also very cautious not to replicate the errors of the past, unwilling to become like Elisande or Azshara. She'll likely fight that one very actively. (Plus her people are experts of botanism which is very fitting for the "Flower Queen")

  • Jack - Ebonhorn - He's Wrathion counterpart, an undercover Black Dragon who's actively fighting against his own corruption, trying not to fall into madness. He gives a lot of importance to the knowledge of history which got him the respect of the Highmountain taurens.

♥ Hearts are characters who act essentialy based on their emotions. They all suffered a loss that changed them forever and are all related in some form.

  • Ace - Y'shaarj - The relation from Y'shaarj to emotions is pretty obvious, even after being killed by the titans his dark expressions split up and cursed Pandaria. His most notorious fragment is his heart, containing all the pride of him who used to be the most powerful old god.

  • King - Anduin Wrynn - started by seeking peace between the Horde and the Alliance until his father died. Despite being the king, he still lives in the reflection of his own father; one of his objectives is to gain confidence, to have enough pride to be as good as a leader as Varian. We can feel him doubting about himself and what he should become, yet we never see him doubt about others; he's very opened to anyone who wants to fight on his side.

  • Queen - Jaina Proudmoore - used to seek peace until Theramore and all her loved ones died. She's now consumed in anger against Horde and can't turn back anymore. She's also seen as an "Aunt" by Anduin.

  • Jack - Genn Greymane - used to be leader of a neutral autarchy that never tried to be implied in any war. With the invasion of his kingdom and the loss of his son, Genn totally changed his mentality and became obsessed with the idea of destroying the forsaken. He also sees Anduin as a reflection of what his child could have been.

♠ Spades are the most powerful individuals of Azeroth, symbolizing war and the death it brings. Similarly to hearts, they all suffered a loss that changed them forever, bringing them closer to the world of death.

  • Ace - N'Zoth - The ace of Spades is the most powerful card of them all. N'zoth has thousand faces, and Spade have thousand designs. He controls Ny'alotha, the border seperating the world of Death and Reality, bringing visions of it.

  • King - Bolvar Fordragon - The most powerful king that has only been active in the shadows of the world for many years. No one knows where his allegiance goes and how corrupted he really his, but he'll come back and the consequences will massive.

  • Queen - Sylvanas Windrunner - The "black lady" reigns supreme. She's a tactician planning everything without taking any emotion into consideration. She'll know many military sucesses but keep making more enemies.

  • Jack - Nathanos - The Jack of spades represents the will of the King & Queen of spades. He will execute every command zealously and might even go further than what's planned, exceeding expectations.

And if you wonder who would be the Joker, I think it represents the Player.

What do you think about this theory? Do you think other characters should be considered and why? Thanks for reading it all!

Isn't it about time we are able to have surnames?

Posted: 19 Feb 2018 08:50 AM PST

In a world full of thousands of players per server, weird characters and odd variation spellings, it seems like a good time to add surnames. Although we will still be befuddled with the Xxdarknessxx names, they could now stand out by adding a surname. Xxdarknessxx Smith.

EDIT: This would be an optional feature like adding a space or apostrophe.

Whenever a new expansion comes out I don't think twice about spending 50€, but would never spend that much when another game gets released.

Even spending 12€ a month sounds better than spending 5 € fot a discounted game on steam.
