PUBG PUBG Weekly Discussion Thread - Blue zone behaviour

PUBG Weekly Discussion Thread - Blue zone behaviour

Posted: 16 Feb 2018 02:39 AM PST

We recently published our end of year survey results and one of the pieces of feedback you had for the subreddit was that there wasn't enough opportunity for constructive discussion about the game. To help with this we're going to be posting a weekly discussion thread on a topic related to the game to get some discussions happening!

This week the topic is:

Blue zone behaviour

Some questions to get you thinking:

  • Do you like the 8 phase model of stopping and starting?
  • Do you feel like the current timings are fair and fun?
  • If you think changes need to be made, what are they?
  • Is the blue zone damage reasonable, and what do you think of the recent change to increase the damage over time with distance from the circle?

Got an idea for a topic you want to discuss next week? Reply to my stickied comment below!

If FPP is so realistic, why don't level 3 helmets look like this?

This is imo the best method to push buildings in pubg (most effective in solo play)

Just let us fucking choose the maps we want to play

Posted: 19 Feb 2018 08:41 AM PST

Why go all Hitler and Kim Jong Un on us and force us to play miramar? We have to leave like 8 out of 10 just to get Erangel. I'm sick of the cheaters also, but I get that that's a broader and harder issue to solve. But how difficult can it be to implement a map choosing feature? I swear to you these problems are partially the cause of this game's drop in numbers lately and you are the ones doing it to yourselves.

My friends and I started doing "Pacifist" runs where we try to survive until the end without picking anything up. We met a team willing to let us fist fight at the end.

[Discussion] Top 100 NA FPP Player Here - my perspective on an influx of hackers in FPP since last update. Videos in comments.

Posted: 19 Feb 2018 09:18 AM PST

Alright, so for starters I'm a top 100 FPP player who always plays for top 10. I often hide in plain sight and use positioning to get the advantage. I finished about rank #98 last season and this season have been bouncing between rank #30 and rank #90. My IGN is deepcameo, feel free to look me up on pubg.op.gg to verify.

I was one of the people who laughed in the past as people claimed there were hackers in nearly every FPP game. With the way I play there was no way people knew where I was and chose not to kill me. I would stalk other players, moving from rock to rock, bush to bush, nearly always in the open. I made a habit of watching replays, and learned from every death. In the few hundred hours leading up to this week I encountered two hackers that were blatant, and maybe one every couple weeks I thought was very suspicious, but we've all had a great spraydown or hit a long sniper shot, or saw an inch of somebody's arm and knew where they were because of that tell. I was always hesitant to post arguments to the people claiming that "once you get to a higher rank in FPP it is full of hackers", that was, until now not true at all. I've been here at the top of the matchmaking for a couple months now and have had the pleasure of killing and dying to players in the top 10 several times, none of whom I ever had a suspicion of hacking.

Last week I began running into hackers almost daily. This weekend and today, 3/5 of my gamems have had a clear hacker. (I've gone ahead and uploaded a few of the kill cams and will post links to those below, as well as links to some of the more blatant hackers).

I am afraid the FPP community is going to began to feel the pain of the TPP community (yes I totally acknowledge that TPP has been infested since 1.0 or a little earlier).

Have you guys seen an uptick since the "anti-hacking update"?

Additionally just to cover my bases, yes, I have reported these folks both in game AND to the proper hacker report channels that PUBG provides.

Videos:

first of the recent hackers

very blatant hacker from my most recent game

duo fpp hacker ended this game with 16 kills, insane recoil and obvious wall hacks

My solution to the early game kill off problem.

Posted: 19 Feb 2018 06:15 AM PST

So right now a lot of people die in the first circle by dropping to hot spots. You see 30 people left in the first circle in Mirimar easily. My solution is to have a chicken dinner crate, with an unlock system similar to Rainbow Six Siege alpha packs. If you guys havent played siege, alpha packs are essentially loot boxes with cosmetics that you randomly get by winning matches. Every match you lose you get a 1% increased chance of getting, while every match you win you get a chance of getting it directly and if you dont get it you get 2% more chance for the next win. How I imagine this working in pubg is that if you make top 50 you get a 0.5% increased chance of getting the crate. Top 30 you get 1%. Top 10 you get 1.5% instead. Top 5 gets a 2% increase. If you win you spin to get the crate and if you dont get it you get 3% overall more

This would offer initiative to stay alive until atleast the top 50 and more drive to make the top 10. The chicken dinner crate would have exclusive tradeable cosmetic items, but the crates themselves would not be tradeable. Due to the fact that the crates are not tradeable and only possible to get from winning with a high percent chance it would drive the cosmetic items inside to huge prices, and would encourage people to get them.

EDIT: People are saying that this would introduce more cheaters, well if thats the case then the items could be untradeable as well. Even if they are tradeable the cheaters would only have a 3% chance of getting a crate on the first win so they could get banned before they actually get a high enough chance of getting a crate though.
