I was going through my early 2014 screenshots and found this. We had turtles before they were cool.

I f*cked up...

Posted: 06 Feb 2018 09:57 AM PST

After hours, weeks and years playing this game I FINALLY found a charged creeper.

I nametaged him, trapped him in a hole, while deciding what mob head he should yield me.

I decided on skeleton. So when it turned night I managed to trap the skelly in the same hole as the charged creeper.

So, I walked over to the hole, getting close enough to agro the creeper. He started hissing, getting ready to blow up.. but to my surprise he didn't blow up..

I took a closer look, and realized he was suddenly gone. There was no longer a charged creeper in my hole, but instead there was one gunpowder and a music disc..

I have never torn a skeleton to pieces like that before..

Lily pads with Torches: A lighting and decoration item for water

Posted: 06 Feb 2018 05:01 AM PST

Crafting concept

Possible In-game look(Pardon the shoddy editing)

This is based on a crazy idea I had when wanting to light up some dark areas in a swamp next to an ocean.

Besides serving as decoration and being mildly annoying to get when fishing, lily pads don't do much, and if you want to light up large areas of darkness over water, your options are limited to Sea Lanterns, Glowstone & Lamps, and Jack o' Lanterns. The first three can look awkward when placed on top of the water or on the same level, and while you can put them on the bottom of a pool of water, if said pool is too deep, it doesn't do much in the way of lighting the surface. Placing Jack o' Lanterns is hilarious, but a bit impractical and out of place.

Torches on lily pads seems like a nice way to decorate and light the surface of water without being too obstructive like the other full-block light sources you could use instead.
