Posted: 06 Feb 2018 07:32 PM PST I've only been playing tiny since he can play any role. Even support. I haven't tried that though. He was a good late game before the rework. He still has 3 bars in the carry category. The description still describes him as a late game carry who runs up to a tower and yells za warudo then road roller da. In the early game, he oneshot people. His laning phase depends on who he's against. If he's against melee, he destroys because they will take damage from the tree. Mk, sk, anyone without physical poke damage or magic immunity can't stand up to him. Mid game, he actually has some attack speed and can right-click. I haven't been having the best late games. My last game went 80 minutes. I had full build plus a moonshard that I consumed. I had silver edge, s&y, ac, heart, daedalus, and treads. I felt like I wasn't doing much at that point and we lost. That was with a great early game where I kept oneshotting my opponents. Anyways does tiny scale. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Feb 2018 11:38 AM PST My main question is what is my goal in the offlane but you can tell me EVERYTHING you know about the offlane if you have the time for it. I would be really happy about it :D [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Feb 2018 06:04 PM PST I need some help, I have unit specific hotkeys because I only use quickcast for some heroes so I can use ALT+key to self cast etc. On heroes like Rubick and Earth Spirit I sometimes load in and have no hotkeys set for spells. Any way to prevent this from happening? / What makes this happen? [link] [comments] |
Hand of Midas on Dragon Knight. Posted: 06 Feb 2018 06:45 PM PST I am here to share my knowledge to you all. It SUCKS. I tried it and it consistently fails me. 7 minute Midas even after purchasing Soul Ring? Still not worth it. The hero needs Strength-boosting items like Treads, Armlet and Sange in the early game. Delaying these reduces his effectiveness since the enemy will have time to get more levels into their nukes. Does anyone here have any success with this item? Obviously, there has to be, because some guides mention this item. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Feb 2018 04:03 AM PST Whenever you pick a hero, theres a reason behind it. Jugg, when you wanted to push early with a great sustain and early aggression. Viper, when you wan to dominate the enemy lane and have an ability to break enemy's great passive skills. VS carry, when you have a strong hardcore mid lanner like medusa and you have to be active and play more like a midlaner from the safelane. I have seen lately a few Dragon Knight being picked into the safelane in competitive. So in what condition would you be doing that when you are not getting outdrafted (originally wanted DK to go mid and then forced that hero into safelane and getting someone else into the midlane)? Meteor hammer offlane/pos4 Magnus? Posted: 06 Feb 2018 04:55 PM PST RP at levels 2 and 3 has enough stun time to fully channel meteor hammer, allowing you to stun the enemy for another 2s. At level 3 you can skewer before channeling, but at level 2 you have to channel instantly after RP. Meteor hammer also gives int, which Magnus is short on, str, which is good on initiators in general, mana regen, which Magnus is also short on, and decent hp regen [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Feb 2018 04:21 PM PST Hey guys! Ive seen players go Kaya over Veil in some pro games and high level pubs. Was wondering why they might opt for Kaya, considering Veil gives better stats and a smoother build up? [link] [comments] |
How you deal things you can't controll? Posted: 06 Feb 2018 01:35 AM PST There is always space to improve, not denying that! But let's talk about the things you can not controll. It's so frustrating. I'm a guy playing 2-5 games a day (with sometimes breaks in between some days when I have no time) and probably about 10-15 matches on weekend, ofc when I have time.
So I would consider this amount of matches an okay-good amount to improve week per week. Agree/Disagree? So basically, playing with a team that fighting for mid and picking 2 mid heroes -or- simply people griefing/abandon games does pull me down SOO badly in mmr. It's really a thing. I wouldn't probably care if I had time to do my 10-15 games all day cause it would balance out very quickly. But I have not soo much time. So you can imagine, losing games cause of things you can't controll are actually a thing. Sometimes (like yesterday) when I lose 3 games and 2 of them are cause Team is beating themselves and the other game poeple simply abandon, that's like pulling me back a lot in mmr. So basically, I might improve skills with the amount of games I play. But I simply see no progress in MMR because of things I simply can't controll. There are many things I do have in controll. I know that, but the few things which aren't in my controll does literally cost me real mmr. How to deal with it? EDIT: I did understand now that ranked is simply not for me, thanks for helping me understand :) I'll stop ranked completely from now on and eventually won't bother anymore about griefer and ppl leaving and such stuff. Posted: 06 Feb 2018 05:04 AM PST Hey there I've been playing dota for a while now with friends and I haven't improved a whole lot since I started a few years ago. I took a year off bc I lost motivation but I'm back into it now and I'm having a lot of fun playing TB but I'm not really sure when to pick him and it has ended up costing me a few times when I'm paired up against someone with early game strength. As they do teammates have told me to "never choose Terrorblade again" and that "Terrorblade isn't for you" obviously I'm not gonna stop and instead I want to improve my early game skills and also know when to choose TB. Good ways to learn distances in DoTA? For example, observer ward vision, max blink range etc Posted: 05 Feb 2018 08:33 PM PST I've been trying to improve on my mechanics in Dota, and I feel that it would be something that I would find immensely beneficial. For example, I often screw up max distance blinks, and I was wondering if there would be a way to reliably get it right, without having to press alt and look? I've noticed that if I mark out a pair of arbitrary points on my monitor, AB, for example, and this distance AB is the distance is takes to blink 1200 units forward on the map. Should I scroll to another part of the map in Dota, the same distance marked out on my monitor AB, doesn't represent a distance of 1200 units in-game. [link] [comments] |

Meteor hammer on pugna to increase pushing capabilities Posted: 06 Feb 2018 11:10 AM PST What do y'all think of getting meteor hammer in order to magnify his pushing ability? With the new cooldown of 28 seconds and it's cheap price you could get it right as you hit level 7 or 8 when you're at your peak ability to push and you could quickly take t1s and 2s. You can even just walk up to a T1, Q, W yourself, then activate MH, then walk away. And if someone solo tries to stop you you could just kill them. This wouldn't be bought every game. Just games where the enemy line up isn't very good early and you can take advantage of any lack of depush [link] [comments] |
Any big difference between ancient and divine players? Posted: 06 Feb 2018 09:10 AM PST What's the key difference between the two in term of skills? I know some are mechanically better drastically the roamers and supports and same for the carrys. I just wanna know so I can improve on my skills [link] [comments] |
Need advice for gameplay improvement . PLEASE READ AND HELP! Posted: 06 Feb 2018 08:05 AM PST I've been playing DotA 2 for 5 months now but not everyday. I know the basics and I really want to improve on my gameplay. Sometimes it becomes hard for me to cs as a carry in lane. I dont know when to trade and dont know if I should last hit or deny. I dont know who focus on teamfights and end up dying fast. As a support I dont know when to roam or what should i do when my teammates are farming. What's worse is that i dont reach my XP as a support would have. So I need any advice or tips for me to improve more. Thank you for your time in reading this. Any help will do. P.S. PLEASE NO FLAME [link] [comments] |
Is it just me or does tab poof not work sometimes? Posted: 06 Feb 2018 03:09 AM PST I used to be able just to spam tab + poof, now for some reason some poofs simply don't go off. there was a console command for chaining poof without tab, i know there was but i can't remember the command, anyone know? it uses spells on the same button on the next unit if your selected unit's spell is on cooldown i know it exists i just can't remember the command [link] [comments] |
Guess I'll climb. Looking for honest, constructive feedback Posted: 05 Feb 2018 08:57 PM PST So I calibrated, even though I said I wouldn't. But the damn competitor in me got the best of me. I have a background story post, but basically I played original Dota 13 years ago and decided I wanted to get back into it. Calibrated early and I'm a shitter lol https://www.opendota.com/players/839012421 Now of course I want to climb...just looking for honest feedback from better players on what I should work on right now. I've been playing cores because no one seems to want to push towers...its made me do some real stupid things....like just continually run Luna into towers and die 6 millions times...because I still win. I don't like playing Dota like this though and I'd like to get to a MMR with a little more "structure" if possible. Look forward to what you all have for me. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Feb 2018 05:58 AM PST I have been playing this game since 2.5years and I am stuck at this MMR for 1.5 years even after watching a ton of guides and tryharding. Any suggestions on how I can improve(Anyone in 2.5k can improve). I try to take all the blames for losing a match.I buy wards if my team doesn't.I have asked 4k-5k players on how to improve, but they don't give good advice or I am not able to understand them. Please suggest some of the heroes that can help me gain MMR in this bracket and to make it to 3k (not necessarily in this meta).I mostly play heroes that can siege towers fast while my teammates are fighting. But this only work for t1 towers(t1-outermost towers, if I am not wrong). One thing I have noticed is that highly skilled players play really aggressive whereas I am not able to do that. How to play aggressively? Even though I dominate my lane I don't seem to get kills which can boost my gold. I preferably would want suggestions from players who have been through 2k-3k or mo[re. how should a casual pick hero? Posted: 05 Feb 2018 11:53 PM PST I'm a casual dota player, only 3-5 games per week. have played since dota 1 but didn't improve much. I have some comfortable heroes but occasionally enemy picks countered my hero pools. i usually end up picking some hero that i'm not familiar with just to counter pick the enemy. i guess my question is, should i still pick sniper when enemy has an sb? my rank is archon 2. my go to carry pick is pl, sniper, medusa. i don't have much time to practice but i can start learning 1 or two more carry heroes. Posted: 06 Feb 2018 03:02 AM PST My question is simple. How do I contest the most contested roles in ranked games - namely carry or mid? One thing that is quite popular nowadays is choosing a nickname such as "Pos 1" , "Pos 2" , "mid or feed". Any tips and tricks on how to earn your teammates trust in the drafting phase so that they let you play these positions? Extra info: Although I enjoy playing pos 3 and pos 4 A LOT, I decided to give up on them in pubs. Even doing IMMENSE amount of work in these positions are not enough in order for me gain MMR consistently in this bracket, so I decided to try this strategy of contesting mid or carry with everthing I got. That's what mmr boosters do, right? 4600 MMR, EU West [link] [comments] |
