The firebat just came out and it is pretty obvious that it was designed solely to be the counter to a Zergling hero. Blaze uses fire, Zerglings don't like fire. Maiev uses aoe abilities, Zerglings don't like aoe. Zul'jin starts with a "Z," so does Zergling. My ign is Zergling, Blizzard likes me. Kerrigan likes Zerglings, Zerglings like Kerrigan. Posted: 10 Feb 2018 09:05 AM PST How does overwatch manage to get a disconnect feature on launch where the game ends if someone disconnects, but this game is going on 3 years old and I get an auto loss because of someone who DC'd before the gates even went down?? Bots may be fine for low level play, but in high level play it doesn't cut it. I've never won a bot game in my life. Do the devs just not care about the quality of their ranked play modes?? As of late, this game feels like a disaster and these leaver games just put the icing on the cake. I'm no programmer, but HOW HARD is it to implement this?? Picking Tassadar as solo support against an enemy team with Rehgar is not very logical. Trying to explain this kind of misunderstandings is very hard because people don't want to communicate or can't communicate or even don't accept they're wrong. I know what the range around E.T.C. is, but each time I use it, I just wish there was something indicating that I'm actually healing them - anything, really. An icon near my healthbar, an icon near the healthbars of those who are affected, even an icon near my avatar in the bottom-left corner of the screen - anything, really. People were complaining about Alexstrasza's (W), how it adds that green health bar to everyone's healthbar, showing what their health will be once that circle on the ground procs. I kinda wish for something like that. The lack of anything visible, other than the green thingie over E.T.C.'s guitar, kind of makes the talent feel artificially lackluster, which it obviously is not. I've read once in an article, that Hots teams have problems finding investors, because of the lack of contact viewers have with the brand while watching HGC stream So, wouldn't those minutes between the games not beeing utilized best, of we'd get to see some advertisment for merchandize e.g. from the sponsors? The differences of Stasis, Time Stop and Invulnerable, and what is Maiev's Vault exactly. Posted: 10 Feb 2018 02:37 PM PST Lately there has been a lot of discussion of Maiev's abilities, especially Vault and Containment disk. There has been some misinformation going around surrounding the functionality of these abilities -- In Common -- Let's start with what is in common with these abilities before we go into their differences. First of all, all of these mechanics make you completely immune to damage and CC for their duration. And unlike Protected you are not absorbing the damage; you will not even be hit by the ability. The second point is related to this, as these mechanics also make affected heroes completely untargetable by enemy abilities, meaning that you can't auto-attack them, unit targetable abilities can't be cast on them and AoE abilities that involve choosing (Lamb to the Slaughter) will ignore them. -- Time Stop -- Now then the differences, starting with Time Stop, as it is the easiest one to explain. Simply put, every unit that comes to contact with Time Stop will be momentarily put on pause. Your movement, attacks, durations, cooldowns, unresolved dashes, channels, on-going buffs and debuffs - everything - is put on halt. And once Time Stop ends the actions caught in mid-animation will resolve and everything is back to normal. Heroes caught in Time Stop can't be interacted with in any way, as they are untargetable by both allied and enemy abilities. Regarding the hierarchy of CC Time Stop holds the highest priority over other forms of CC as well as Unstoppable, and Invulnerable. Only things Time Stop doesn't stop are ability and Basic Attack missiles and non-hero-centered AoE. It is worth noting that Stopping capture points is unique to Zeratul's Void Prison. Abilities that effect a Time stop are: Void Prison, Time Trap (Chromie), Ley Line Seal (Medivh) and Containment Disk (Maiev). -- Invulnerable -- I've many times seen Invulnerable branded as "Protected + Unstoppable", however, as I said earlier, Invulnerable negates the damage instead of absorbing it the way Protected does. Additionally, Invulnerable removes and makes you immune to many, if not all, debuffs Unstoppable doesn't. These include damage over time effects, Armor debuffs, Attack Slow debuffs and hero- and ability-specific debuffs, like damage amp from Jaina's Chill. Unlike Stasis and Time Stop, heroes affected by Invulnerable can be targeted by allied abilities and, have freedom of movement* and are able to use their abilities*. (*See Stasis-section.) Abilities that grant Invulnerable are: Divine Shield (Uther), Sanctification (Tyrael), Safety Bubble (Murky), Jump (TLV), -- Stasis -- Stasis is ofren grouped together with Time Stop as a "neutral" ability, but it is actually closer to Invulnerable. In fact, it isn't easy to make a clear distinction between Invulnerable and Stasis unless the in-game text exclusively says so, because, like Invulnerable, entering Stasis also removes the same debuffs and makes you immune to damage. One could argue the difference is that Stasis makes you inable to act (=disabled abilities and movement) for it's duration, however this does not apply to all abilities effecting Stasis. For example, Dehaka's burrow still allows you to use his trait during the Stasis and Johanna's Falling Sword, which effects a special Stasis state in air, allows her to move during the Stasis. This means it can't really be used as universal definition. There is, however, one definite difference between Stasis and Invulnerable: Heroes affected by Stasis can't be affected by friendly abilities. Abilities and effects cast before entering Stasis, like heal over time, will resolve during the Stasis, but you can not cast them on allies that have already entered Stasis. Stasis is commonly the method in HotS to give character invincibility frames and to remove most debuffs. For example, both Samuro's Mirror Image and Image Transmission put Samuro briefly (0.125 s) in Stasis to remove debuffs, which also allows dodging some abilities, if timed right. Also, abilities that remove the hero momentarily from the battleground put them in Stasis. There are so many heroes that have Stasis' of different type as a part of their ability, that it is not meaningful to list them all here. You can however be 90% sure that when the ability description mentions "removing most debuffs" or the ability looks like the hero is removed from the map, it most likely involves Stasis. -- Vault of the Wardens -- Now, which of these mechanics does Maiev's Vault of the Wardens represent? Actually, none of them. Vault grants Protected(btw) + Unstoppable and make you unable to be hit by skillshots and AoE. This means, as you might have figured, Vault does not remove DoT, Armor debuffs and such. Additionally, basic attacks that were fired before Vaulting will connect and apply their additional effects. That's pretty much all I wanted to say and I'm grateful, if you took your time to read all the way through this wall of text. If you have questions, corrections or additional notes, do tell and I'll do my best to reply. TL;DR - Stasis and Time Stop (and Invulnerable) are different mechanics, don't use them as if they were one and the same. To the People Experiencing Stuttering Lag Posted: 10 Feb 2018 09:27 AM PST I finally found the solution after all this time. I've been on every tech support forum, and finally, I just got Blizzard to help me test every possible angle.
I returned once again to Blizzard and said, "is it at all possible that since this issue is experienced by so many players, it's maybe possible that this is on your end?" There was a delay in the response and then, a specialist was brought in. "We've exhausted every option on your PC. So we've come to the conclusion that perhaps it's just your cognitive functioning that is skipping frames and trying to recalibrate itself. We think you might be in the early stages of Dementia and we wish you all the best in your chances for recovery!" So now here I sit with my top of the line, fully upgraded PC on the kitchen table to thank Blizzard for all their support. I just wanted to let players know that it can't be Heroes of the Storm that is the issue. If you've exhausted all options, the most likely issue is your cognitive functioning in drastic decline. I humbly request that Blizzard rise as the pillar of this community and at least send a plushie of the afflicted's favourite hero to the families before their inevitable tragic end. Thanks. P.S. Current Situation of the HGC LatAM (South) - Red Canids disbands Posted: 10 Feb 2018 08:42 PM PST While I know that unaffortunately we won't get a direct response from the responsibles for HGC in general to address this issue, I hope this cause some shaking on the current administration over here. I want to show how things are being pooly done over here and how decisions are being made in favor of some, defying common sense and breaking several rules apparenly for no reason Similarly to HGC ANZ, on LatAM South there will be two invited teams for the main event while other teams qualify through open qualifiers to a groupstage with 8 teams, where 4 teams qualify to the main event, due to their performance on the past, blizzard directly invited Red Canids and NeoBlue e-sports Situation: Red Canids disbanded, their reasons for the disband are irrelevant for the situation, they decided to split up while some players retired others moved to existing teams and one failed to find another team, as they disbanded one day before the qualifys. Blizzard LatAM representative told every other team involved on the scene that their spot (direct invite) would be given to one of the teams of the groupstage (instead of 4 spots, there would be 5 now), Screenshots can be provided if needed. But guess what? We got bamboozled as we saw this article https://blizzardcopaamerica.com/pt-br/heroes/news/21510320 and got to know that one original member from Red Canids decided to form a new team and is keeping the invite for this new team. Here is the original Red Canids roster, the one that performed on the last HGC Copa América and earned this spot:

Their spot is not earned in anyway, there is no reason at all to "directly invite" them, besides, all teams were told that Red Canids spot would be given to the 5th team on the groupstage, why did they change their mind? In favor of one person? This also obviously breaks several rules from the rulebook. Some speculate that they want the name "Red Canids" to stay in the scene so the scene get seem as stable, and when people realize that the players are all different, it will be too late to do something about it Regarding the prize pool reduction, there are rumors that, due to bad admnistration, they had to use the budget of this year to pay things from the last year (like all the delayed prize money, and the LAN event costs), which we will never really know for sure, because blizzard do not release to the public their e-sports budget per region (or I am too stupid to find it), but that makes a lot of sense since players got their payments in the same time that we saw a HUGE cut on the prize pool and number of teams on LAN events got halved. All I ask to NA Blizzard is, please, care about us here at LatAM, we know the e-sport scene here is full of potencial but always get trashed by things like that, don't let this happen this time, we all trust you for the right decision to be made. Delay in Uploading HGC Videos on Youtube Is a Bummer Posted: 10 Feb 2018 12:09 PM PST Last year they used to go up within an hour or two of the match. As of noon pacific time there are no EU or NA matches on youtube nor are there twitch links available on the HGC website. This includes a 9am pacific match from Friday (27 hours ago). Not trying to be spoiled, I just really enjoy spending my Saturday/Sunday mornings going through the youtube VODs without having to deal with the terrible twitch website (even with HTML5 - my laptop is old) and without having to forward through all the junk. I love that youtube is strictly draft+gameplay+interview. EDIT: 36 hours later the VODS from Friday are up, however, the links to the EU games take you to a youtube link which says the playlist is private (you can find the individual videos from the Heroes Esports youtube page). Posted: 10 Feb 2018 04:38 AM PST There's two reasons I would really like this. Firstly, I can't type "GG" at the end of the game. My clever alternative is to currently run with the "Good Grave" Halloween spray and just spray that at the end. My point here is that it can appear rude, throughout the game, if people want something from me and I just simply can't see it. It would be nice for them to know that in advance - my reasoning here is basically politeness. Which closely ties in with the second reason; I've been in quite a few games where people are trying to talk to me; known by the fact that I've had friends in the game telling me as such, or sometimes the constant pinging and then standing still of a player who is clearly typing something to me. Perhaps they think I'm reading it and not replying, so they don't realise that they're wasting their time (which would be better spent not typing anyway). Maybe if people knew I wasn't able to read what they type, they would type less and actually play the video game instead. So perhaps, much like the "Silenced" icon, we could have a "Chat Disabled" icon. It preserves politeness and hopefully would stop people from typing unnecessarily.
