TL;DR

Minimalistic turn-based strategy, mechs vs kaijus. Come on. I know what I'm doing the rest of the day week month year.

Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - any modern games with similar gameplay?

I recently stumbled upon an old box of games and among them was this classic. I somehow got it to run on an older windows XP laptop and spent a few hours reliving the game. For those that don't know it, it's (what I would call) a hack and slash where you are one of the key heroes of LOTR and you hack/combo your way through hordes of orcs and other Mordor enemies. It also made me realize that I haven't really seen a game like it in years. Am I missing something?

The games were simple but they were also mindless fun. As the title states, do these types of hack and slash games no longer exist? Or have I missed out on some of these? I tried shadow of war but it just didn't do it for me. It had some of the mechanisms but (to me) lost that fun.

If you never played it, here is some of the gameplay: https://youtu.be/kvVx8C5E16U
