ZOS PLEASE increase the max number of furnishing spaces in homes.

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 03:30 PM PST

I have Daggerfall Overlook. This home has A LOT of open space. I'm at 700/700 and I still have open space in the house. With more items released from luxury vendors, new DLC, and writ vendors, every time I want a new piece of furniture, I have to decide what to remove just to add the new one. Just increase the max number by 10% at the very least.

2500 crowns for name change too much

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 09:17 AM PST

Why is a name change so expensive? I still have several characters that i named before i knew other people could see their name, like nsktv and yyrik.

Zos, please lower the name change price so i can give my characters proper names.

Battlegrounds: unbalanced. Should something be done?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 11:50 PM PST

Hello everybody. I'm certainly the millionth player who just realised how unbalanced Battlegrounds matches are. First, i would like to thank ZOS for having increased the AP rewards for the losers: it actually at least gives an incentive to try and even play regularly, so that's very good.

So the question for debate is: should Zos do something about the fact that Battleground is the most unbalanced play-mode ever? 90% of matches i've been playing (dozens) is dominated litterally by 1 team. This team is clearly a pre-made team: guys organized, stay together, dominate by 500-20-10 typically. For 80% of the games i play i do my best, capture relics, capture points, defend, help my mates, kill opponents (decent K/D ratio) and I end up with the top score of my team.

So i understand that organized premades should get rewarded because they're playing efficiently, talk together, etc etc. But:

  • Is stomping all opposition without any challenge really what these guys should aim for? Other competitive games like LoL have an ELO system in place....

  • Most of ESO population are "kind-of-casual" players like me. Really. So even if it's fun to have some challenge, being faced in 95% of the game against impossible odds is NOT fun. And casual players do not and don't want to have to enter a PVP guild, be forced to play at special hours, and make a hassle of the whole game. We just want to pop in a match and have "some" fun, and "some" chance to win, even if it's 1 match every 4 matches.

  • When somebody leaves or can't get connected (happens a LOT, but never to the premades group obviously), the remaining 3 players are doomed. Really, not fun either, a team of 3 Vs premades of 4 players... Why not give a special buff of +15% to all stats to the team missing one member? At least they'll have "some" chance to do something...

Most matches actually end up being a competition between two Pug teams for not being the "last", and getting a few points before the pre-made reaches 500...

IMO premades should be matched against other premades OR very talented players. If there aren't enough players arounds, premades shouldn't be allowed, period. What the current situation encourages is either for casuals to not play BG at all or do semi-afking to just get the 7k AP.

What do you think about the situation? Should something be done, or is BG good enough for you as it is?

Scalecaller Peak Written Guide

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 11:11 AM PST

Assuming everyone in your group knows how to stay out of the red...

Important adds

Skeevers

When you kill one, they'll have a large red ring around the corpse. If you step inside, it'll flash red and they'll launch a poison ball at you. Stay out of the ring.

Floating Red Balls

These will petrify you if you're too close for too long. You can tell you're being petrified if you have a small red circle under your feet. If you are petrified, you have to be freed by an ally, similar to Ruzozuzalpamaz in Crypt of Hearts II. Kite them and range them down.

Nereids

These will spawn a geyser on the ground, similar to the Minotaurs in Bloodroot Forge. Generally the Tank should plug these, but a DPS can too IF AND ONLY IF they are at full health, full magicka, can blockcast spam Harness Magicka and a powerful self-heal (Red Dragon Blood), you give the healer a heads-up, and the Tank can't make it. Don't plug them as a DPS.

Orzun the Foul-Smelling and Rinaerus the Rancid

General mechanics

If these two are too close together, they get extra stinky and anyone close by will die. Have the tank bring Orzun off to the side. I like to have the DPS burn down Orzun to 10-15%, then kill Rinaerus, then return and kill Orzun, but it doesn't matter as long as they're both killed at about the same time. Coordinate with your group to figure out what works best for you.

Orzun

Occasionally, Orzun will target everyone with an iceball, similar to the Shalks in Bloodroot Forge. When this happens, run to a yellow circle and let yourself get frozen. Don't break out, let the iceball hit you, it'll break you out. You can outrun the balls for a while, but they'll catch up eventually. The yellow circles are one use per-person, and you'll get four (UNLESS RINAERUS IS DEAD).

Rinaerus

The big one for him is his ice storm. This one is similar to Domihaus' Shout in Falkreath, or Zhaj'hassa in Maw of Lorkhaj, except that you'll get two pillars every time (UNLESS ORZUN IS DEAD). Once he starts chanelling, everyone has to run straight to an ice pillar to hide behind. It's best to have the tank take one, and everyone else behind the other.

For the Tank

When Orzun poisons his claws, try to roll dodge his heavies. They'll give you a nasty DOT. Stay near the edges of the arena.

For the DPS+Healer

Rinaerus occasionally summon Skeevers. Interrupt him ASAP, either manually or with Crushing Shock. Stay near the edges of the arena.

Doylemish Ironheart

General Mechanics

I think this is the hardest boss in the dungeon. He'll spawn the Floating Red Balls occasionally, and everyone has to avoid them. If petrified, he'll instakill you. He can be interrupted once, but the second attempt is uninterruptible. He'll also spawn Ice Wraiths, which need to be killed because they'll overwhelm the tank. There is also a laser, like in the Spawn of Mephala fight in Fungal Grotto 2. If you can get past him, you can beat the dungeon.

For the Tank

Roll-dodge his heavy attack. It hits for a ton, and inflicts a nasty bleed. Stay mobile if targeted for Petrification.

Matriarch Aldis

General Mechanics

Stay out of the water. It'll freeze and kill you, like the Nirn-Lava in Bloodroot Forge. She'll also spawn Nereids which need to be killed ASAP. Prioritize the one farthest from the tank to reduce the amount of running they'll have to do to plug the geysers. The hardest part of this fight is locating the geysers, the yellow circle is hard to see against the yellow water. Be prepared to die a lot until the Tank gets used to the visual cues. Jorvuld will also shout out when one's about to blow. It's great for the tank to have a gap closer here, to quickly approach the nereid closest to the geyser.

Plague Concoter Mortieu

General Mechanics

This guy is easy. He'll poison everyone, inflicting everyone with a debuff. First increased Stamina cost, then decreased Healing Received, then increased Magicka cost. During each poison phase, Jorvuld will call out what he needs to make an antidote. First Imps, then Stranglers, then Beetles (I think). Kill the required adds, and he'll make an antidote for the poison, which will buff you and also cause the boss to drop to a knee. Save your ultimates for when he's on his knees. When he drops, he'll get scared and summon a guard that should be killed.

For the Tank

There's not a lot of aggro management you need to do here. Most of the damage in this fight comes from poison geysers under the grates. A ranged taunt is good for keeping aggro on the boss, but your primary goal is to plug these geysers. When an antidote is created, he'll call for help. You need to grab the guard that comes into the room. Their heavy will one-shot you if not blocked. But he'll usually melt in the ulti-storm on the boss.

Zaan the Scalecaller

General Mechanics

Poison Breath: The arena is divided up into three triangular sections. The statues will randomly choose one of the sections and kill everyone in that section, briefly indicated by an AOE marker. The sections are smallest near the statues, so try to stay as close to them as possible to react to the AOE marker instead of just dying. The time it takes you to read the phrase "Red... Dead" is how long you have to move out of the red.

Fire Breath: Indicated by a prompt on your screen that says "Zaan's breath is following you!" or something similar. Zaan herself will also say something like "I may have lost my Voice, but I still have Thurvokun's flame!". Back up and strafe the flame waves. I've heard that it's possible to get right up in her face and strafe her like the Crematorial Guards in Maestrom, but I died when I tried this. Do at your own risk.

Fire Laser: There is an audio cue for this, but I don't remember what it is. The visual cue is a large AOE damage circle around the boss, larger than any other similar circle she does. She'll pick someone up, and fire a laser at them. The Tank has to stand between and block, like with the Lord Warden's machine gun. If the Tank gets lifted, a DPS should stand in front for a bit, then the other should take over. The laser deals ever-increasing damage to whoever it's hitting, just like her Monster Helm does.

Ice and Poison Storm: This mechanic happens every 20% health she loses, unless she's currently doing one of the fire mechanics, at which point it will happen immediately afterwards. She'll summon two Simulacrums that channel a group-wide damage spell. Move as a group and kill one, then the other, to make the healers job easier. They don't have a lot of health and die quickly. Immediately after they've gone down, Zaan will drop Spellbreaker somewhere on the map. Run to it, the statues' Poison Breath is about to hit all three sections at once and you'll die if you're outside. After the poison breath, Zaan will grab Spellbreaker again and kill anyone still inside the circle.

Zaan Hard Mode Haven't done this yet, so I'll refrain from giving advice.

Very strange bonus I got from purchasing the game...

Posted: 16 Feb 2018 12:26 AM PST

I have been having a dilemma with my recent purchase of ESO Tamriel Unlimited (Steam) where when I purchased the standalone game I didn't only get Tamriel, I also got Morrowind... Which is very odd since I need to make an additional purchase to get that addition. I'm wondering if this was on purpose or a mistake on someones part.

With the new update, can I wait to level a character until after the next crown crate season starts?

Posted: 16 Feb 2018 01:29 AM PST

I just started playing this game last week and heard about the new update that's coming (I'm on Xbox)

I have 3 active characters lower than level 20. I know you can get crown crates when you get to certain levels with the new update. I don't really like the current flame crates.....If I were to wait until the next crate type to level a character, would I be able to get the crate for that season?

Also, when is the next crown crate season?

[PS4] Just started a few weeks ago and so far it's a cold community...

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 10:39 PM PST

I figure this is more of a console thing, as most people don't have keyboards set up and it's a pain to type things word by word on the controller, but so far I've had like zero meaningful dialogue with anyone, anywhere, in any zone. I've asked simple questions, tried to group with someone who was literally doing the exact same quest at the same point many times (denied), and basically have had almost no interaction with other players except in passing, casually killing the same mobs, random world bosses and Dolomens.

I know I'm new, and it's hard to compare to vanilla wow on the pc where you legit needed people to do certain quests or dungeons, but I'm just wondering if there is a reason? Or if I should join certain guilds or something? I like to casually RP (not really... mainly just good around) and it would be cool if people occasionally responded in the general chat. So far I've only.grouped one time, and that was random... I ended up playing with them for hours and it was fun, but it is the exception for me and not the rule.

Like sometimes I'll have such a simple question like "Does "lfdg" mean looming for Dolomen group?" Or "should I be keeping fleshfly larvae? " and I don't even get trolled, let alone answered. In wow even if a dozen people called me a noob or to kys or something trollish, some kind citizen always whispered the answer to me. I feel like that sense of community isn't there as much on ESO, though I am still loving it and look forward to it every night. Only level 31 but having a great time. Just would be cool to have a more interactive gen pop.

Scratching that itch.

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 11:51 AM PST

I have made a tank, one of my buddies that I play with is a dps templar. We decided at level 10 to try and take on one of the world bosses( i think). The huge crab and then the big bug for the Ebonheart starting island. With me attempting to tank, and heal myself with that nasty little rock throw, and him dpsing while throwing his heals on me as well.... I have not felt the thrill like that since WOTLK. So glad this game is on xbox.... Carry on good Sirs.

[PC][Discussion]New player; Coldharbour and Main Quest Line?

Posted: 16 Feb 2018 12:55 AM PST

Hi all,

I recently purchased the Morrowind Edition of ESO, logging in for the first time I appeared in the Vvardenfell area, on a small island - that was clearly a starter area, (I was expecting Coldharbour from all the posts and a guide I'd read.) I ran through the small zone, enjoyed it, but was then sent onwards to another area in Vvardenfell - now this is where I put the brakes on... I didn't want to start what I understood was the latter content areas yet, even if it scales to level and wouldn't actually cause a problem. You see I wanted to experience the Nord starter area and the original linear progression through the Ebonheart Pact zones, so I ported to Bleakrock Island and worked my way through, I've now been moved on to Bal Foyen, which is I assume the next area in the chain.

My question is this:

How do I access the Coldharbour area and begin the main quest chapters? I feel I should've seen something by now, and have yet to have received a letter, met an NPC or been directed to a point whereby I end up in Coldharbour. I want to start the main story as soon as possible, but there's no sign of it popping up.

Any help and advice is appreciated!

Casual and non-addictive?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 10:02 PM PST

Hi guys!

Recent wow quitter here as im in Uni and WOW jas proven to be too addicting.

Im currently playing GW2 because of the free base game. And its been really fun and not overly addictive.

But tbh, i would prefer something a bit more story rich and people have been recommending ESO.

I would just like to ask

  1. if x ESO is playable mostly solo?:)

  2. and if i join a guild, can I enjoy the social aspect as an on/off player? If dedicated raid grouos and dungeon groups are the norm i may have to pass haha. Ive heard that a lot of the endgame focuses on difficult raids and im assuming raids = structured guils schedules XD

  3. Is there constant gear progression? If there is quick obsoletion of old content or a constant gear grind, i think Ill stay away cus thats what got me too addicted to wow haha.

Thank you in advance!

DPS on Normal Dungeons, equipment question

Posted: 16 Feb 2018 12:41 AM PST

I just tested my DPS on my Argonian Skeleton. It was about 12600. I realise that's not good for harder stuff in this game. But is it OK for most normal dungeons? I have done many normal dungeons but not all. The hardest i've done is Bloodrot Forge. But often I think i'm not very useful lol. The mobs most times attack someone else that does more damage.

As this seem like a really mature and friendly community, only 1 time another player got aggressive. But I wonder if my DPS on around 12600 is OK on most normal dungeons, or if im not really useful on that level. I try to be a Stamina DK.

Im a redguard, all attributes on stamina.

My gear:

5 Purple Spriggan (Dual Wield Weapons, Jewelery) 5 Purple Hundings Rage (1 heavy chest, then medium) Slimecraw Monster Set (1 Medium helmet, 1 light Shoulders)

And if I managed to get all my equipment to legendary, can you say about how much my DPS would increase?

Thanks

Game crashes to login screen after trying to load an area

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 10:56 PM PST

i recently returned to ESO after a long break. i originally played at launch and left due to friends leaving the game, and work getting in the way.

i purchased the game again through steam, and after downloading it would let me play just fine until try to move to an area with a loading screen, at this point its a 50/50 chance of it letting me continue, or just kicking me back to the login screen with a generic "try again in a few minutes" error. this occasionally happens when trying to load the character the first time as well.

i have contacted support, and they gave me the whole "forward your ports, set a static IP, flush DNS" options, which i had done well before contacting them to no avail. i contacted my ISP to see whether they knew of any issue, and they dont block any ports, so its not on my end (i ran a tracert to ESO servers and had no issue contacting any of the IP's i used)

im also getting screen tearing running at a stable 95-100FPS with Gsync enabled.

if anyone can help me, it would be much appreciated! i really want to play.

PC specs:

CPU: i7-7700k @ 5.0 GPU: Asus Strix 1080ti RAM: 16GB GSkill RGB 3200 MONITOR: Asus ROG Swift PG348Q 3440x1440 @ 100Hz Gsync

[Question]Addon that lets me customize buff bar?

Posted: 16 Feb 2018 01:10 AM PST

Hey everyone. Im looking for an addon that would make me able to customize buff bars for certain buffs and dot effects. By that I mean Im stamblade and I would like to have separate space on screen to see my Endless Hail/Caltrops etc. duration somewhere else than I see buffs like minor heroism and other not that important stuff. I find it pretty hard to track my endless hail duration which makes it really hard to make proper rotation. So is there any addon that would help me in this situation?

How can I know recommended CP for a Vet pledge?

Posted: 16 Feb 2018 04:50 AM PST

Hey guys, I am just getting into the veteran content and I am CP 228. I picked up a pledge quest and it said to go to White Gold Tower on Veteran but it really was a bit too high level for me according to my group. They said I should have 350 CP and even though I was doing ok they said they needed a stronger DD. Thats fine, I really don't want to waste anyone's time and I do research my build & rotation to make sure I'm doing my best. But I had no idea bout this requirement, I was just trying to do the pledge quest. So are there some pledge quests I just wont be able to do on some days? How can I know what CP I need for a dungeon? Thanks in advance.

Back again with some newbie questions

Posted: 16 Feb 2018 12:05 AM PST

So I'm enjoying soloing a lot and I've seen a lot of SnB players roaming around lately and I gotta ask...how is tanking in pve solo? If I was curios were or how should I start? Should I level a toon a certain way before investing into SnB? Like should i roll DW or TH before swapping to SnB? Also i see ppl mention Magicka or Stam tanks how does that work? I find it kinda intimating to be honest on were to start if I wanted to tank

Also a second part to my questions, should I have a dedicated craft toon or is possible to have multiple toons do certain ones? Like one toon cooks, another smiths and so forth?

Last question, are Nords really that bad of a race? I see them get a ton of hate for worst racial passives...I like the nords from my SKYRIM days but seeing all this hate has me wondering if they truly do suck. I mean in the end race doesn't matter right? I mean meta is just for the leaderboard chasers?

Thanks for any and all replies :)
