Posted: 11 Jan 2018 12:08 PM PST Someone told me that this subreddit is quite interested in number crunching. I made some graphs about the xp talents to show how soon and how long they give you a level advantage compared to standard heroes. Last time I made something similar it was a static image, now it is a google drive spreadsheet, much easier to update. I used the data on the dota2 wiki, if I missed something feel free to point it out. shoutout to u/Magickirby and u/frodo, who pointed me to this subreddit and asked for an update [link] [comments] |
Midlane hard counter to sniper? Posted: 11 Jan 2018 06:03 AM PST Whats the best counter to sniper midlane? i feel that storm has trouble winning cs war before 6. and pa seems quite easily countered by enemy picks in other lanes [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Jan 2018 12:40 PM PST I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, but we seriously can't figure this out. In reality he is about a low to mid 3k player just like the rest of us, but for some reason the matchmaking system is constantly placing us vs 4k-5k players in unranked. He played 10 party ranked calibration games with 2 friends (one similar level and the other a bit lower). They lost 9 out of 10 games and he was given Legend (3) while the others were given Archon (2) and Archon (4). Has anyone else run into this before? Here's his profile if you can find some kind of indication from it: https://www.dotabuff.com/players/291785 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Jan 2018 10:30 AM PST Not really good at drafting but need some help or advise on strong first 2 picks that don't get dumpstered in lane [link] [comments] |
How should I have dealt with this lane? Posted: 11 Jan 2018 03:35 PM PST Hi all, I just played a pretty bad game with CK, and finished 2-7. My lane was against a bristleback (who always ruins me) and a nightstalker. I never know what to do in situations like this- if anyone could take a look at the first 10 minutes of the match it would mean the world! Really need a few pointers. I am unranked but think I'm somewhere between 1-2.5k so I'm sure there are lots of mistakes to find! The match ID is "3673730740". My dotabuff is "https://www.dotabuff.com/players/28551861" Please help me get better :) Thank you [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Jan 2018 07:54 PM PST I was playing solo offlane against AM and it just sucked. I was playing abba and just had 0 mana the whole time and yeah couldn't really contest. I feel like any melee offlaner (magnus/tidehunter) must be pretty weak against AM. Is this true? I was just trying to gain some insight into viable offlaners (solo) against AM. Is it just a matter of going ranged? Maybe someone like enchantress? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Jan 2018 12:56 PM PST I've only really done builds that just went midas-->maelstrom-->travels-->etc but i've been thinking of more fun builds focusing more on magic and his abilities rather than his relatively weak right click. It would go something like phase/arcane/treads-->blink-->kaya-->dagon. Or maybe something like boots-->veil-->blink then maybe maelstrom for aoe or maybe just dagon again? I was thinking of just keeping it at dagon level 1 then aiming for other items like mjollnir/shivas and going for octarine to be extremely tanky with arcs 3.0 strength gain and magic damage giving him life steal. Also with his talent tree his double with octarine will have almost 0 down time and will be able to spam attacks on enemy base with little risk of it dying simply because of how tanky you are with oc/shivas. I'd just like all of your thoughts on it. Edit: I've also thought of something like offlane arc warden because of his high starting health and with boots you have decent movespeed so it'd be something like prophet. The biggest downside would be his LOW armor but that doesn't seem to stop doom. [link] [comments] |
What are some strong lineups in this current meta/patch? Posted: 11 Jan 2018 07:11 AM PST |
May I ask for some video links to offlaning? Posted: 10 Jan 2018 11:20 PM PST I'd like some videos when an offlane hero is facing a trilane or two-lane and ofc, commentaries on why the player picked that offlane hero and how he/she is managing the lane. Or if you could link me to a matches that show pro offlaning gameplay, I'd also really love it. I've also read about the "something" pull from one of the pro players, but I can't seem to recall the name? [link] [comments] |
How good is support Arc Warden? Posted: 11 Jan 2018 01:28 AM PST So I'd like opinions on support warden. I've played against it once like a month or two ago and I thought it was pretty unusual , but I kind of randomly remembered it yesterday. In the game I saw it in he did work early game and was quite annoying, but I wasn't sure if that was due to the fact that he's not a popular hero so people just suck at playing against him, or if he actually is viable as a support hero. Pros I can see are : A slow / damaging spell Long range area control / nuke (provided you position it properly) Great against linkens heroes due to being able to pop them with flux on either the hero or the clone, then apply it with the other Provides attack speed / evasion for your teammates / towers Could get double uses on most utility items (force staff, glimmer, euls being good examples) Relatively low Mana costs on spells Cons being : Flux can be negated by going near another unit on their team Mkb / melee heroes counter the bubble The little ghost thingy can be triggered by units other than the intended target so it's a higher skill cap than most heroes nukes would be in a support role Without farm the clone will be pretty weak as far as survivability goes, so if you position it poorly it's a decent chunk of gold for the enemy Lacks a stun Would require at least some micro to use spells effectively alternating between the clone and hero to get everything off in a short window. I'm sure there could be more pros/cons I'm missing, but those are what came to mind as someone who hasn't played the hero a whole lot in general, and never in this role, so mostly speculation. Anyway, I'd like to hear others opinions on this / why they feel that way. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Jan 2018 12:08 AM PST An old phase I've heard is that if you understand the game well enough you can play pudge better. the more you understand a support position in gerenal is to read the map and know where to make and receive pressure. Imagine the other team is making the same decisions every step of the way like chess. Where will they provide pressure. Who wants to die next? They is part of preventative game play and will put yourself in a smarter position to take fights. [link] [comments] |
