[Showerthought] The Song of Storms would be the most useful in Breath of the Wild than any other game.

Masterpiece!

I've been playing this game for weeks with my 5 year old son. We love this game. My wife hates it lol. We can't stop playing it. I handle the combat. He loves the puzzles. It blows my mind how well he handles them. This is a masterpiece of a game. I hope we get more like it! 80 hours in and still only 21%. Bring it on!

Does anyone know if the infinite Hylian Shields glitch was ever fixed in an update?

Posted: 15 Jan 2018 07:39 AM PST

It looks pretty hard to do, and I'd rather not waste my time unless I know it's going to actually work. I know some glitches, like infinite arrows, were fixed with an updated.

After repeat attempts to conquer the Gerudo Tower Black Moblin, had an amazing surprise victory

Posted: 14 Jan 2018 10:41 PM PST

Was scaling the steep hill around the Gerudo Tower with 5/12/16-ATK weapons like a madman, and this was my fourth tower attempted, after the Dueling Peaks and Wasteland Towers.

Got to the very top where then I had to face that incredibly dangerous Black Moblin on top, which was wielding a massive club, safe to say...kept dying over and over, even though I had saved after easily handing the two Blue Moblin mooks by sniping them from on top of the center rock with a couple of bomb arrows.

Then, I pulled a sneak attack on the Black Moblin for another attempt and managed to knock it off the cliff-edge again...only to my surprise to watch in disbelief as it dropped it's weapon, a 45-ATK club onto the topmost tent with it being below the tent and unable to reach its powerful weapon, the sneak attack having reduced it to 1/6 of its HP...only to watch it fall to it's death hilariously just from several in-game feet after I paraglided down to get it to confront me.

Getting a 45-ATK club suddenly after having only 14-ATK or so high weapons felt like giving a grenade launcher to a child.

My top 3 wish I had's in BotW.

Posted: 14 Jan 2018 05:27 PM PST

These are My top 3 things I wish I had in Breath of the Wild:

  • Musical instrument: Whether Ocarina, Flute or something else to play magical songs on, for: Changing weather, Changing the time of day, calling a scarecrow and more.

  • The Hook shot: would be nice to have so not to use up Gale for little climbs and to speed up climbs by shooting and getting pulled up to a higher spot, plus the ability to retrieve items with it.

  • Mirror Shield: to make guardian beam repelling so much more easier without having to worry about shield breaking, plus I like the look of the OoT mirror shield.

Which version of Twilight Princess ?

Posted: 15 Jan 2018 02:41 AM PST

Hello guys.
Just a simple question. I'm playing through the Zelda games in chronological order of release on emulators (recently finished Woodfall Temple in Majora's Mask) and was wondering about Twilight Princess. Are there any differences between the GameCube and the Wii versions ? Which one should I play ? Does it matter ?
Thanks for your help
Edit: you guys have helped me figure out what to do. I'll go for the GameCube version, keeping in mind the Wii U HD version if it becomes possible. Thanks for your help !

Alright, let’s rehash who Majora was.

Posted: 14 Jan 2018 03:07 PM PST

It may have already been discussed. But here we go.

Midna is the daughter of Majora.

During TP, one of the dialogues is that the twilight lost their king a long time ago because of his lust for power and greed.

The interlopers were banished by the gods for trying to take over the sacred realm with the fused shadows. So, at that time, they still had a king who was power hungry. If the king of the interlopers was the one who had the immense power to create the fused shadow, chances are the kings will and power would be infused with the fused shadow.

After being banished, the king may have been killed by the gods for his actions, or died. I imagine early on that the interlopers would have wanted to retain the great dark magic that the king would have possessed. So they forced all of the dark magic that the king would have into a mask similar to how the powers of the deku, goron, and zora masks are. The main difference being that majoras mask was created using dark magic and the transformation masks were created using light magic of the ocarina. So, transformation masks aren't evil, and allow the wearer free control. Majoras mask was made with dark magic and takes control of the wearer and only follows evil intentions.

If the interlopers realized they could not control majoras mask they might have decided to seal it away. After realizing that the best dark magic they could create couldn't be controlled, and having already lost the fight to take control of the sacred realm, they might have just resigned to living peacefully in the twilight, eventually evolving into the twili seen in TP.

So in this timeline, the king of the interlopers created the fused shadow, after being banished, he died and the interlopers desperate to maintain their dark magic sealed the Kings dark magic in a mask to be worn by the next king. After losing control of the mask, they sealed it away and began to live peacefully in the world they were banished to live in. This worked for a long time until Ganon tried to take control of the sacred realm and imprisoned all of the sages guarding the portal. During OoT, the interlopers (or twili) lose possession of majoras mask. Then the events of majoras mask play out and the dark magic in the mask is destroyed. Time passes and TP happens.

If the king has children, Midna would have to be it. Which would make Majora the king of the interlopers. In the world of Kings and queens the children are often named after the father. Majora and Midna are incredibly close in spelling and would make sense for it to be the case.

So how did the mask salesman get the mask? During Ocarina of time, the sages were drawn away and sealed by Ganon. This would leave the portal to the twilight realm wide open for the HMS to sneak in and steal the mask. This is aided by the fact that the land that TP takes place in is the same as the OoT with a few thousand years in between.

To really prove a point, when Midna is using the fused shadow to open the barrier around hyrule temple, some areas on the shadow glows the same color green as the iris on majoras mask. The sounds of midna transforming from the fused shadow and the pumping of the muscles is scary similar to the sounds and pumping that majoras mask goes through to get to stage three in the majoras fight.

Majora was the king of the interlopers. Majora's mask is simply all of his dark magic sealed in a mask. Midna is the daughter of Majora. Which would make her the princess. The shadow realm would eventually be renamed the Twilight, and her title would change to Twilight princess.

To address some other things, the children in the moon and the nature of Majora. The child that has majoras mask is lonely. The king of the interlopers might have started out as that child, eventually turning to dark magic and evil from being completely ignored and neglected. This makes the child you see in the moon the conscious of Majora, and the Majora you fight the dark magic and hatred that he accumulated. Which makes sense, you fight the hatred and dark magic, not the child itself.

About the great deity. The great deity might have been the warrior to fight and destroy Majora originally. Or maybe the great deity is what Majora saw himself as instead of an evil presence.

To;dr: Majora was the king of the interlopers, Midna is his child. Majoras mask is only the dark magic of majora. The interlopers couldn't control the mask and sealed it. The fused shadow in TP was created by Majora.

Majors’s Mask Timer

Posted: 15 Jan 2018 05:55 AM PST

Hey all,

I'm not here to complain about the timer in the game, but I would like to say it is what puts me off from playing everything that I would like to experience. I just found my 3ds and both my MM and OoT copies. I decided to play OoT just because of the timer. What are your opinions of it? Is it as daunting as it comes off to be?
