Posted: 02 Jan 2018 09:15 AM PST So i got my Switch over the holiday an picked up BotW with the season pass (Bestbuy Canada the the $30 pass for free with purchase). I really can't fault the game game, other than shit breaking getting a little tiresome. But i do have one issues, is anyone else scared of missing stuff? The world is no rich and amazing but it seems so easy to miss content. It was only by chance that i even found the Korok guy to trade in seeds. Genuinely worried i could miss something important is there anything that like that or is it all doable later? No spoilers please. Also..maybe im doing parrying wrong but I've only even got the combo hit in once the rest of the time it hits me or i just jump. Cant get the shield parry down either. Watching videos of people shield parrying guardians and i cant even shield parry a club. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 02 Jan 2018 07:31 AM PST My ideas for possible dlc... Items: Ice rod- bludgeoning item that shoots gust of wind that freezes ppl for a few seconds. Breaks if you hit ppl with it a few times though Paraglider- hold a to float down slowly when airborne Shiekah slate- press a to unleash time stop chains directly in front of you. Stops ppl for a few seconds. Hiting them influences their trajectory and distance launched after they are freed Assist trophies: mipha- brings damage to zero one time while canceling the launch of a heavy attack at high damage(closest thing I can think to being resurrected) Daruk- red shield stuns(no damage) anyone that hits you up to 3 times Urbosa- for up to two times, when the user performs a smash attack, lightning hits the ground around them for additional damage and stun to any nearby Link: Up b- spin attack. Less damage and launch power than standard link. Grass is cut around him, random food recovery items appear Neutral b- arrows that cycle thru normal, fire, ice, electric, very rare chance of bomb arrow Forward b- lizal tri boomerang.when thrown, Goes thru ppl rather than bouncing off. Flies faster than toon link. Same or less damage per hit Down b- remote bomb. Won't detonate until you press down b a second time. More damage to make up for only using one at a time. No fire element Final smash: Divine beasts- each beast shoots a beam in a cutscene. Beams create an X on the field, dealing heavy damage to any who touch it except link ... One can dream. What do you guys think?? [link] [comments] |
What are the Divine Beasts called in Japanese? In German they are called Titans. Posted: 02 Jan 2018 09:22 AM PST Played Breath of the Wild in English but did some comparison to German, since both languages have been translated directly from Japanese. So that's pretty interesting. Now I wonder what the most fitting translation from Japanese would be. I like "Titans" much much better, sounds much more imposing and more like you would call such things in real life. [link] [comments] |

Why I think Nintendo should make the Majora's Mask equivalent to Breath of the Wild Posted: 02 Jan 2018 03:13 AM PST So I am not the first to make the point that Nintendo could utilize the engine of BotW to create a sequel much like the engine for OoT was reused to create Majora's Mask. In this post I will try to make a point for Nintendo to take this approach for a sequel to BotW. However, I want to go a bit further and argue that the central mechanic in Majora's Mask, being the three day time cycle, could take the BotW mechanics to another level.
**TL;DR: The three day cycle in Majora's Mask could be used in a BotW type world to increase sense of urgency in the main objective, streamline looting, mitigate weapon degradation, make the world feel more alive and increase the sense of progression without taking away too much freedom. I want this to happen. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jan 2018 10:07 PM PST Why was the 3Ds Zelda engine only ever used for remakes? Personally I would enjoy a brand new traditional 3D Zelda using that engine. We only really have the 2 N64 and 2 Gamecube ones, the rest are different, and, in my opinion (not including BoTW as I haven't played it), worse. An entire new 3D adventure akin to those would be great, and it's a shame we probably won't see one. What are some thing you would like to see for a game like this? Personally, I'd love a game with similar exploration to The Wind Waker. The ocean mechanic was great, but if we could have that level of exploration on land with Epona, it could easily be number one for me. [link] [comments] |

Zelda game idea - specifically a BOTW sequel / remake of old game Posted: 02 Jan 2018 05:44 AM PST I don't normally do this but I had an idea I thought was really neat and wanted to share and see what the feedback was. So, imagine a BOTW sequel that uses the same engine and style but it revolves around Link getting shipwrecked on a large island that has 6-8 dungeons scattered and hidden throughout that can be done in any order. It'd be like Eventide Island meets the entirety of Link's Awakening. But them I thought... Why not just a reimagining of Link's Awakening? Link could go out on some sort of sea expedition for Hyrule, get's shipwrecked on this island with next to nothing on person, and you just explore the island to your hearts content. The giant egg is still at the top and you can climb straight to it right away. They can do original dungeons (that are not strictly inspired by LA dungeons) and bring back some utilitarian items that are awarded in each one that make traversing the island easier. Like... Maybe Link doesn't have is paraglider (since the island is smaller and more dense than Hyrule so the glider isn't strictly necessary) but you can find Roc's Cape in a dungeon that let's Link jump (higher) and glide. Maybe bring in something like the Mole Mitts that could give some sort of new digging mechanic but ultimately it could be a climbing buff (same buffs as climbing gear; eliminating the need to swap outfits for climbing) plus a no-slip grip on climbing. Maybe even have the chain chomp again that you can lead around the entire island and experiment with. Maybe use as a ball n'chain hammer item. And of course they could add the whole Marin element all over again. Maybe even make it optional like BOTW's story elements depending on if you find them or not. Just wanted to see what people thought of the idea. It doesn't have to be a reimagining of LA but just still be that basic concept of Eventide Island meets LA as a full Zelda game. Posted: 02 Jan 2018 05:30 AM PST Am I the only one who finds it boring ? The one hit obliterator phase was good but the monuments were boring . You just beat the same bosses again without gaining something cool . The final trial (which I haven't beaten yet ) and the memories you gained is cool tho [link] [comments] |
