Far too many new Moiras I've come across (high diamond) use their ult as dps. Its real strength is in the massive healing output it can achieve. Try it out, guys.

Long term problem that never got any explanation. People use voice lines, call-outs as a fidget toy. It usually gets so annoying that only muting my own audio would solve it.

If blizzard disagrees with making this option - what are the explanations?

Its 2018 please have view ally health bar enabled on all heroes

options->controls->view ally health bars

viewing ally health in a team based shooter such as OW is super useful for everyone not just healers. As tanks, it lets you know who is taking fire and who you should be shielding/protecting. as dps it lets you know who is taking fire so thats where the enemy is and who you should help fight. there is no reason this should not be enabled.

Now that the white screen is back, GRAB HIGHLIGHT INTROS!

About 7 months ago, we had the opportunity to grab a few highlight intros and backgrounds with the white screen. Almost as good as green screen, we can use these to edit into anything we want. Now the white screen is back and there have been a lot of new skins introduced. Have fun!

You can turn off the text and menus by pressing Alt + Z

(Disabled player) can I get a small fix?

Hey guys really sorry for this complaint but I'm a disabled player and it effects me regularly.

Maybe it only effects me but currently Moira's primary attack and her damage biotic orb have the exact same sound. When being attacked by her there is no way to tell if you're being hit by the orb, which will fly by after a bit, or being hit by her primary fire. This means that (for disabled players like me) you can't tell if you should turn around and target her or just assume it's an orb and go about your business or avoid it.

To make it relatable for normal players, when a soldier shoots your from behind with primary fire you know what he is doing, but if he rockets you then you hear a distinctly different sound and can respond appropriately.

If no one else has this problem I'm really sorry but with low vision I rely heavily on sound ques and this one messes me up every time. If Blizzard could change the octave of the orb to distinguish it more that'd be enough to make it easier. Roast me in the comments if you will.

Is Junkrat too OP?

Since Junkrat got buffed a few patches ago, giving him a 2nd mine, and his riptire speed boost (with a slight wall climbing, gravity nerf to rebalance it), took him from a popular pick in Gold tier and below, to nearly a must pick in all tiers!

His former weaknesses were his ultimate at higher level play wasn't guaranteed value. Since the buff it is pretty easy to get at least one elimination.

Pharah was a direct counter to Junkrat, until his 2nd mine was added to give him increased aerial and horizontal mobility. Now he can better evade a Pharah, to the extent that though still a direct counter, it has strengthened his chances.

Elimination confirmation used to be a big inconsistency as he had a lot of splash "trash" damage but found it hard to confirm the elimination. With the 2nd mine, he now nearly always has one, and at its current damage, one grenade hit followed by the easier mine throw kills a squishy (200health hero) in 2secs.

I do personally find it frustrating to play against a Junkrat with the massive burst damage potential. However I would not ask for a major nerf. I think it would be best to simply lower the damage of the mines by 20-30HP and work from there. This allows squishy heros to take another shot, which gives them another second to react in a duel, weakening his too strong self-elim confirmation. However still maintaining his mobility and, consistent ult, leaves him very viable.

The reason I think it should only be a minor nerf to start is, Blizzard took a relatively non-viable hero at the top ranks and made him playable. I don't want him to go to trash tier, as frustrating as I personally find it to play against.

Just my thoughts, let me know what you think?

Doomfist's Cratered Achievement Needs To Be Adjusted

The achievement states: "Hit 6 enemies with a single use of Doomfist's Meteor Strike". As of right now it is the rarest achievement in the game not related to a specific event and it is not even close. It is 5X more rare than the next achievement. Xbox is showing that only .05% have completed this. The only other semi close ones are - Halt State (.25%); Air Strike (.032%); The Floor is Lava (1.14%) and The Path Is Closed (1.36%).

Each of the others listed above are very difficult to get as well. However, Cratered is 1 of only 3 achievements in the game that are requiring you to involved the entire other team. The other 2 are Power Outage (EMP 6 enemies at once – 3.87%) and Anger Manage (damage 6 enemies during Primal Rage – 5.39%). The difference between these 3 achievements though is ultimate timing. EMP is instantaneous and the enemy cannot avoid it. Sombra can also use stealth to engage the ultimate. Primal Rage on the other hand is a long ultimate and gives the player the chance to move around to complete the task. Meteor Strike though is neither of these. It has a 7 meter AOE however it gives away positioning and allows time for enemies to escape it. This makes it next to impossible for there to be 6 enemy players alive and unaware of the giant red circle around them and have none of them react to protect themselves.

The following enemies can and do routinely escape it or use an ability to avoid taking damage – Tracer (Blink); Miora (Fade); Doomfist (Rocket Punch); Genji (Dash); Pharah (is probably in the air but can concussion away); Reaper (Shadow Step); Soldier (Sprint); Sombra (Translocate); Mei (Cryo-Freeze); D.Va (Boosters); Winston (Jump Pack); Lucio (Speed Boost); Mercy (Guardian Angel); Reinhardt (Charge). Basically, about two-thirds of the current hero list is able to use some sort of ability to avoid the damage or escape the area. With that large of a hero pool able to routinely escape an ultimate the idea of hitting 6 enemies is very unrealistic. It is also why Doomfist has the lowest Ultimate Kills Per Game based on Overbuff's data.

Other issues to consider:

-Most of the time the enemy team has either a flanker like Tracer/Genji or a Hanzo/Widow. The odds of them ever being within 7 meters of the 5 other players on their team are slim to none. If they are with their team it probably means the point is being taken over and some of their team has already died and they are trying to hold the point and so the achievement couldn't be triggered.

-Most people recommend trying this with Zarya's Graviton which does help eliminate several of the above enemies from escaping, however, Reaper and Orisa can still walk out of it. This also means you are having to rely on your team having a Zarya and for her to actually use Grav to capture all 6 enemies. Not only is that highly unlikely but it seems unfair considering Zarya's achievement only requires you to Grav 5 enemies. Also, if a Grav does manage to capture all 6 the odds of no one dying inside the Grav before Doomfist can activate his ultimate and then come down on top of all 6 people is extremely unlikely.

The reality is, this achievement does not match up with Doomfist kit or his capabilities. The achievement should have been something more along the lines of hitting 4 (maybe 5) enemies at once OR killing 2 (maybe 3) enemies at once. Most DPS achievements are for a Quad kill, however, that also seems unfair for Doomfist as the epicenter does 300 maximum damage and so the odds of killing more than 2-3 enemies is highly unlikely as a large amount of the hero pool has over 300 health and the epicenter is very small.

I'm very aware that there are larger issues within the game right now that need to be addressed but with Doomfist having just had a rework to try and adjust his hitbox I feel like now is the perfect time to go ahead and give him a more fair achievement that falls in line with all the other heroes. Even a simple change where the number goes down from 6 to 4 would give everyone a fair shake at the achievement.

Irvine is a city in California. It is also where Blizzard HQ is located. It is not a subtle hint at Hero 27.

I've seen a lot of posts recently asking about Irvine and trying to understand how this might be a subtle hint towards Hero 27. I'd like to share some information with anyone who is trying to shoehorn Jeff's wardrobe choices into a clue for the next Hero.

  • This is the search results on Google for Irvine

  • This is the search results on Google for Blizzard HQ

  • This is a dinoflask video from a year ago with Jeff Kaplan wearing a shirt that says Irvine

  • This is a link to a story about UC Irvine offering Overwatch scholarship program (may or may not be related)

 

The "Irvine" shirt is just Jeff supporting his local city. Or...I guess it could be a year-long bait about Hero 27. Whichever you think is more likely.
