If at level 25 as troll warlord you have a bkb or manta and pick the "battle trance dispels" talent you can completely counter silencer's ult. Whenever he ults you can dispel it on yourself with bkb then cast your ult and suddenly it is dispelled from all allies rendering it completely worthless. [link] [comments]  |

| TIL: Sniper has a talent that reduces his ult's cast time Posted: 25 Jan 2018 03:58 AM PST I'm very certain I didn't miss this in the patch notes, but just thought of it as a CD reduction since it literally says -1.5s Assassinate, but today I was randomly spectating one of my friend's games when I noticed that Sniper's ult was going off way too quickly when he casted it. I checked his talents and only after that did I put the whole thing together. Has anyone else played with this talent? Keep in mind he gets this at lv20 and the alternative talent is Headshot knockback. Thoughts? [link] [comments]  |

I've been playing dota for a looooong time now, and I mean very long time, like waay back from dota1 days. Its been like 12 years now. Ive never been interested in improving, just had fun playing the game. But now, things have changed, and I really wanna get to that 4k(i know i know) so at least I feel like I achieved something in my time playing this amazing game. The bottom line is, Im looking someone to coach me, but as I am a student, Im piss poor so I have nothing to offer to my tutor. I know its unreasonable, but If someone is willing to do something like that, hit me up and we can mb work something out. | So... what happened to having high gpm? Posted: 25 Jan 2018 01:55 PM PST I just came back after a few months off of dota, and now all of the sudden its so hard to get a high gpm. What happened? Is it just that I am not as good as I was? I can still hit 650+ gpm pretty consistently, but I played an AM game where it was my gold to get at least 700 gpm, i had 390 cs at 35 min, which im sure was enough whenI used to play, but i only had 680 or so. I had two kills, two deaths and an assist, and both deaths were early in the game, as we as the kills. FTR I stopped playing during the patch where they had just reverted the change to only odd minute spawns for neutrals (7.05 i think.) Whats up with the gpm difficulty? [link] [comments]  |

| How to play Support Vengeful Spirit 2k MMR Posted: 25 Jan 2018 02:14 PM PST Lately I've been determined on playing Vengeful Spirit and despite a ~55% win rate with her, I feel like I never contribute to the game and my wins are always because I happened to be carried. What item and skill build should I be trying to do? I know she is flexible but I have trouble trying to decide what is best for the game. | Best methods to start learning and practicing? Posted: 25 Jan 2018 11:25 AM PST I just started playing Dota 2 (as in single digit games) and I was hoping to get some help regarding some good sources of learning for both the basics and advanced techniques. Whenever I've learned things in the past I've always tried to find a source that is presented by a good educator and someone who is aware of, and teaches, best practices. I'm also curious on the best way to practice for competitive play. Though this is just a hobby for me, that doesn't mean I won't take pride in it, and I would appreciate knowing how to practice the right way as opposed to reinforcing the wrong techniques. I've noticed that other offlaners have been taking Tiny offlane as well (universe for example). Generally they go for bottle or soul ring into treads then blink/force staff/shadow blade. Posted: 25 Jan 2018 07:33 AM PST Ive been trying offlane for a while now and I was wondering what are some really good picks that can fuck over enemy carry? Ive been having really big success with DK who just transitions into another core but with more hp but its not as effective anymore after gaining like 300mmr with him because I get trilaned or hard harassed and not even E can save me. Another thing is how enemies just make it their lifegoal to deny every single godamn creep. And since I often have to stand back to leech xp I can do absolutely nothing about it, so instead of having at least XP advantage I lose even that. What do I do about that? I just tried tide but the mana issues are real even with octarine I have been out of mana all the time. Also anyone mind explaining to me what supposedly makes centaur- a hero with no BKB piercing and relatively short stun so good? Same for pitlord, his CDs seem way too big. [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 24 Jan 2018 08:08 PM PST So I used to play quite a bit of Dota2 about 2 years ago. From around 2013 - January 2016 I played a ton but I have not played at all in two years. Last week I picked up Dota again mostly because of Turbo. I don't really have time to play Dota constantly like I did before my current job so I can't commit to potentially a 1 hour game whenever I have time to play. This leads me to a conundrum though, I've been content playing supports and less farm heavy heroes in turbo while I get my mechanics back (my game sense are farming have gone to shit after not playing for 2 years). However I would like to get back to my favorite hero Templar Assassin at some point. My question is if she is even viable in turbo. As she tends to rely on power spiking and getting bigger carry status before the enemy carry it feels like she could be one of the worst possible turbo heroes in the roster. That or maybe you just have to go super ham early on her? If anyone has suggestions of how to play her in turbo or ways to possibly itemize to make her viable please let me know. Or just let me know if I should just find a time to play a normal game of Dota if I want to play TA. [link] [comments]  |

| How to get farm early game? [low MMR] Posted: 24 Jan 2018 11:28 PM PST Hello, i have Problems getting CS Early Game [Min 0-5/10]. Most of the time at my MMR i get dual Offlane. Previous Enemy Offlanes:
It's hard to even CS with a normal Carry against such Lanes. I was sitting at ~15 CS @Min5... which is utterly Garbage, but nowadays such lanes seems to be the Standard for low MMR People. In previous Versions i was going for IronTalon, PMS and started getting my Farm in Jungle. Most of the time I was with idiotic supports on such Lanes. F.e. Naga Support, Necro Support. Which only soak XP and even gone for CS. How to get CS with f.e. Gyrocopter against such Lanes or what else can be done?
