Shout out to a pro I found [PC]

Posted: 11 Jan 2018 10:12 PM PST

So I started yesterday and hit level 5 (I can't provide proper terms of my character, I a DK Nord who uses a Bow) and I stumbled upon this short girl who had amazing levels.

She helped me buy a basic horse, crafted some cool medium armour for me and waited for me to hit level 6 so I'm ready to wear it. And also gave me 50 Soul Gems.

All in all, she basically gave me a phenomenal starter pack.

As an Indian where people aren't spending on games, I purchased ESO six months back and started playing yesterday, I noticed that P2P games have a pretty nice crowd overall. I'm happy. I have a lot to go through but I'm enjoying the journey already.

To the short girl with pink hair and antennae, THANK YOU!

ESO DLC's are amazing

Posted: 11 Jan 2018 08:16 PM PST

I just done Clockwork City and im blown away.Amount of details, storyline, characters and just everything is for me is almost the same quality as SKYRIM is.Didn't played Orsinium yet and i will tomorrow but im soo surprised by that quality of this dlc.You can tell just by playing through this, how much Zenimax was lazy and not creative when they launched ESO with all those boring Tamriel zones that basically all look the same but different vegetation. Im glad that they are improving now, improving zones and quest. This game is getting better and better and cause of that,as an ex ESO hater,i must say that i love now this game and looking forward to future dlc's and chapters( Morrowind is well done too).

You win Zenimax...

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 03:56 AM PST

So I re-downloaded ESO after almost a year last night and noticed the free ESO plus thingy was going on. I had never used the sub before and now I don't think I'm going to be able to live without it.

The crafting bag, oh god how I love it. Looks like this little event is going to get me to start subbing from now on. Shakes fist GG Zenimax....you win this round.

NVidia Freestyle lets you add a colorblind filter to ESO

Posted: 11 Jan 2018 10:47 PM PST

NVidia's just released the beta version of Freestyle, which allows you to add post-process filters to your gameplay. It's like a built-in SweetFX. ESO is on the list of games that can already use this feature.

I'm Protanopic, or red-blind, which means that sometimes things don't look like they should. One of the filters allows you to filter the colors so that they're easier to differentiate. I personally did 100% on Protanopia in the Colorblind filter, plus 20% extra saturation in the Adjustments filter. Everything pops so much better, and I recommend it highly. You can also use it to give ESO some more vibrancy to brighten your gameplay. No AMD alternative yet, but hopefully they'll follow suit soon!

I'd post before/after screenshots, but since it's post-process it's not part of the shot. Good news is, it won't be color-shifted if you stream because of this, so colorblind streamers will definitely want to take advantage of this. 8% of men are colorblind, and roughly 20% suffer shade-blindness or some other color deficiency. I'm sure this kind of software will help.

An Old Orcish Primer – Observations on the Old Orcish Language in the Orsinium DLC

Posted: 11 Jan 2018 12:44 PM PST

An Old Orcish Primer, a comprehensive document containing the compiled knowledge of the Old Orcish language that appears in ESO's Orsinium DLC – previously posted on various TES-related subreddits by /u/YargukgroMulakh – has by us been updated and expanded, notably with a phonetics section and several clarifications and fixes. Combat feels very wonky and clunky at times

Posted: 11 Jan 2018 09:10 PM PST

There's a lot of times when I press a button and it simply doesn't activate so I've gotten into the habit of mashing a button a few times before moving on in my rotation. Usually this is fine, but sometimes if I press the button 1 too many times, it casts the ability twice in a row. It makes it really frustrating trying to do a rotation when either my abilities don't go off, or they end up going off twice in a row.

In addition, heavy attacks seem so wonky if you're pressing buttons and bar swapping in between them as they often either light attack despite me holding down my mouse button, or my character just sits there doing nothing until I release my mouse and press it again. It feels really difficult to have a steady rotation because of the amount of times that my rotation is screwed up from this stuff. This especially happens on my magsorc where I use channeled staves for heavies, but my stamsorc with a 2h/bow also encounters this problem such as when I wrecking blow out of a bar swap but my character doesn't do it despite the srendarr cast bar showing up. Am I doing something wrong, or do you guys encounter these issues often as well?

edit: also I can animation cancel very easily when I focus on just doing that specifically, however it seems almost impossible to do in actual combat when I'm trying to manage my rotation because of how wonky everything feels.

Noob playing coop needs info

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 04:24 AM PST

Me and my partner have picked this game up and are trying to play the game cooperatively.

We are a few hours in, are able to party up and also share our quests. But it feels like we are both just doing the quests for ourselves and not as a party.

We find ourselves in different sections of the same quest and we constantly have to do things twice. (I collect the 3 items but she also has to collect the same 3 items, despite it not being a solo quest, us being in a party and having shared said quest. Also the quest is set as active for us both.)

Am I doing something wrong here? Or is this just how ESO works with a 2 person party?

Any info is greatly appreciated as we really want to get into this game, but we decided to call it a day until we can resolve this issue. Thanks in advance.

New player question: Wood elf Templar: how hard did I gimp myself in regards of vet trials

Posted: 11 Jan 2018 08:42 PM PST

Greetings ladies and gentlemen!

I have just started my very first toon a few days ago just to test the waters with this game, and I must say I can't stop playing.

I have done some research and found out that wood elf is very sub optimal, when it comes to healing and magplar. My goal is really to one day do vet trials, so is there a possibility I get accepted as a stamina dps, or more preferably as a tank? I don't mind starting a new toon, but if possible I would really like to keep my bosmer :)

Cheers!

Edit: Just done my first dungeon as a „healer" where I ran around with my 2h and while no one took dmg I tried to dps as much as I can, how viable is such a hybrid playstyle at endgame?
