Thoughts about current CLE and 0.3 CLE Posted: 14 Jan 2018 09:11 PM PST Hey everyone, I haven't posted in a while on this subreddit, but I thought I would pop in to ask this question. Before I start, I want to thank Brian Hicks for responding to the community's concerns about the game and its current status in development. I've been re-watching DayZ videos uploaded by theRadBrad the past few months and I can't just help but praise how difficult it was to find food, water, guns, and ammo without traveling to a military outpost or military base. Will the CLE throughout the course of BETA (and in the 1.0 release) become similar to that of game version 0.3, where ammo and guns will be scarce unless you set out to military facilities, and more food and water can be found in summer camps than on the coast or in generic houses, or will it constantly evolve with each BETA update? I would appreciate it if /u/Hicks_206 replied and offered some insight on what the CLE will look like during BETA (and possibly 1.0 release?) This is primarily a discussion thread, so your thoughts about the current CLE and discussing possible changes to the CLE are welcome. [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 Jan 2018 05:19 PM PST Hey all, This post is about a split in the community. If any of you have read anySlightExaggeration post about Criticism, you may have seen Two Very Different Viewpoints, One being Dayz is a Survival Game with PvP Elements, and that Dayz is a PvP game with Survival elements. Let's Look at /u/dstrkttv's post about Haters and Critiscm of the Game Here's this comment by /u/_fidel_castro_
and here's this comment from /u/cr0m
Here's a Better Example, with Someone wanting Dayz to be a hardcore survival game so as you can see, there's two differing opinons here (one Being more about Player Interaction, the other about PvP.) This is why i think Modding is Absolutely Critical for Dayz's Success, as people will have 3 Options, PvP, Vanilla, Hardcore Survival. [link] [comments]
RANT: The mentality of DayZ haters Posted: 14 Jan 2018 09:16 AM PST Before I start, by haters I mean the ones that scream "DAYZ IS A SCAM" "4 YEARS ALPHA" etc... not those who simply dislike DayZ as a game. So, back when the Alpha was launched, DayZ had a massive influx of sales generating tens of millions of dollars. This was unexpected by pretty much everyone including the devs. So what did they do with this money? They used it to completely rework the engine, allowing DayZ and future Bohemia titles to be much more playable, enjoyable and functional. The legacy engine was in short, shit. It was clunky, fps depended on the server, it was in no way fit for a game like DayZ. I'm surprised BI was able to make such amazing games on it. It needed a change, and that's what they did. In what universe does this make Bohemia bad? They could have just taken the money, shat out a piss poor game on the legacy engine and gave everyone at the office a nice large paycheck. But no, they spent time, effort and money trying to make the game as good as possible for the end user. I see a lot of this hate coming from /r/pcmasterrace. Funny enough, they're the first ones to shit on EA and Ubisoft with their anti-consumer tactics (and rightfully so), but when a company like Bohemia comes along and uses their time and money to create the best game possible, they're hated. I just don't get it. The 4 years of early access, along with """"""broken promises"""""" can be attributed to the giant change in scope of the project. If you were working on a project you were passionate about, then suddenly had a budget increase of millions of dollars, what would you do? Scumbags would take the money and run, Bohemia would use it to further develop their project for the better. Also, a few things about DayZ/Boehmia that no one seems to brings up: A company like this would be praised in this current climate where most companies simply milk the user for cash. So if anyone can please comment a logical explanation on why this game gets shit, please do, because I'm having a very hard time understanding it. [link] [comments]

So I just encountered my first grenade hack death at Svetlojarsk police station. Posted: 14 Jan 2018 11:47 AM PST I could see the guy running about the police station fully geared up and I was looking forward to the sport of trying to taking out a geared player with a repeater rifle and some guts, I took a few shots to shit him up, he was running about on the roof and seemed to have no idea where I was shooting from. then boom, grenade death. has anyone else here suffered a grenade death this weekend?
