Why can't we sell relics in jungle practice?

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 03:30 PM PST

Someone has probably asked this already, but it's quite annoying that we still can't sell relics in jungle practice.

Has anybody else noticed that some technical problems just stay in the game for months and nobody seems to care about them?

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 03:03 AM PST

There are some technical problems in the game, not god related that are just ignored by Hi-Rez or overlooked, I don't want to assume this right now but it really seems like they just have them on the "things to maybe handle sometime" list

I'm talking about:

  • Game not starting after hitting play in the launcher

  • T screen only displaying one instance of damage from one source

  • T screen crashing the game

  • sensitivity sometimes going back to the 25 default value

  • HUD resetting

  • very rarely keybindings resetting

  • Sound problems that cause fizzing noises (anybody else? I have that every third game or so until I completely restart the client)

  • Recieving whispers from some people although being DND

  • Changing the audio device in the game completely mutes the sound except voice pack, announcer and I assume ultimate sounds

Anybody else with all these problems? Or can you tell me some more to add to the list?

Switching to smite from another pay 2 win Hi-Rez title.

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 03:06 PM PST

After the huge amount of Love, Time, Grinding and Money we spent on Paladins, Hi-Rez decided to make our game a pay 2 win game, and after all of the protesting and the feed back we gave, they still did not give a single damn. They deployed the patch, and the game we loved is now dead in our eyes.

I am personally thinking of switching to Smite, and my question says: Is Smite pay 2 win ? Should I try another Hi-Rez game or never ?

Health is just as important as protections!

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 07:51 PM PST

You've all seen it. A guardian or warrior, even an assassin or mage decides they want to be God of Ultra-Tankiness. A noble cause.

But the issue is, they neglect health. I mean, if you take less damage then you don't need a lot of health, right? Wrong.

You have to take into account that lategame penetration can negate so much of your protections. One mage with Magus can get rid of 50 magical protections, along with the passive penetration it provides. If they add Obsidian Shard to the mix? And a guardian with Void Stone? Even 200+ magical protection may as well be a piece of styrofoam you're desperately hiding behind. Facing a hunter? Executioner alone is going to decimate your physical protection, and it only gets more effective the more protection you have. Add Titan's Bane? Better clutch that styrofoam tight.

Protections can only do so much on their own, that's why you need health to fall back on. If I'm playing a guardian and I have less than, say, 2800 health, I'd better be going damage (Cabroken), bruiser, or playing as Sobek or Bacchus (lowest and second lowest HP of guardians, respectively (Zhong Kui has more HP than Sobek)). If I feel like I don't have enough? Stone of Gaia will give you boatloads, in addition to its useful passive. Mail of Renewal is a bit pricey, but awesome for supports. And if you're upset about their lack of protections, grab Thebes.

For the love of Armok don't just buy BoV, Mantle and Nemean for physical protection. They're all great items for sure, but no health. Thankfully most of the important magical defense items have at least some health cooked in, but usually not enough to rely on that alone.

What gods were you most surprised by (good or bad) after trying?

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 07:13 PM PST

The good:

  • Xing Tian - I didn't think he'd be so much fun, you just waddle around bullying everyone and it's the best.
  • Mercury - Assassins were my least fav class until trying Merc and his insane crit builds. Dude makes Odin throw his ult just to escape, feelsgoodman

The bad:

  • Hades - Didn't realize how close you need to get to enemies, which feels a bit awkward for a mage. If your team is on point, he can be pretty fun though.
  • Nemesis - People are insane with her but I stink and always feel like a weak lil diaper baby

The ugly:

  • Ullr - The weapon switching sounded so fun but good lord do I spaz out when trying to combo. He's badass, but that kit is definitely not for me.. :(

Warrior Jungle: A short guide

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 12:54 PM PST

A quick note: Most of this is based off of personal experience. The builds are what work in general, but counterbuilding is always something you should do. All of this information is available in my Discord channel for Conquest players, called Conquering Conquest, a channel for experienced and new players alike, to come together and teach each other how to play Conquest, as well as tutorial inhouses to teach comms/coordination once there are enough active players. I'll post the link if people want in. If you have any critique, post it in the comments. The guide originated from my comments on this post

And without further ado, the guide:

Q: WHICH WARRIORS WORK WELL IN THE JUNGLE

A: All of them really. I've used all of them in the jungle, and there are a few that are a bit underwhelming, but I've carried games on everyone.

Vamana and Chaac jungle have been done in the SPL. I've tried both personally, and really enjoyed Vamana. Chaac was a bit meh, but he still worked really well

Guan Yu has little pressure. Lategame, you're fantastic, but even though your jungle clear is better than your lane, it isn't by much. If he had a better hit chain, he'd be a good jungler

Herc and Tyr are more suited to a lane. They like being ahead of the rest of the players in the game, and solo farm helps with that. In the jungle, they're quite lackluster, since they'll either be even with, or behind the enemy squishys (unless they're popping off early), which is not where they want to be

Other than that, they're all great.

Erlang, Bellona and Osiris bring insane pressure, able to stick to enemy carries and soak up hits.

Ravana and Odin bring the bursty ability damage from their combos

Cu Chullain and Wukong bring sustained ability damage

And finally, Nike and Amaterasu bring that sweet, sweet lategame presence

Q: HOW SHOULD I BUILD THESE JUNGLERS? SHOULD I BUILD DAMAGE? TANKY? A MIX? WHICH ITEMS SHOULD I GENERALLY LOOK FOR?

Tanky, mostly, with at least 1 pen item.

Gladiator's shield works very well on a few of them, especially those who can spam their abilities.

My normal builds are something like:

  • Warrior Tabi (Ninja for Erlang and Bellona)

  • Heartseeker, Gladiator's Shield or Ancile. All very good items. I generally get heartseeker on the ones with good early game burst, like Odin and Ravana. It works on most warriors, because it gives nice pen, and early game they do a ton of ability damage. Gladiator's Shield is for sustain. It's core on Cu Chullain, and works very well on Osiris, and anyone else who can hit many people, or spam abilities like Wukong. Ancile is if you want to constantly be in the mid mage's face, without a lot of repercussions from them. If you're behind, get glad shield or ancile.

  • Hide of the Urchin, Mystical Mail or Midguardian Mail. If you wanna be the tankiest you can be, get Urchin. If you're a burst-focused character, who got heartseeker get Urchin. If you're ahead, and don't want urchin, or if you're going to be up in people's faces constantly in fights, get Mystical. If you are Cu Chu, get mystical. If you're behind, Midguardian.

  • Masamune, Frostbound Hammer or Stone of Gaia All items give some nice, much needed health. If you want additional defenses, and power, go Masamune. If you want the best survivability, or just some sustain, get Gaia. If you want to be the biggest nuisance while you're ahead, and you're playing Osiris, Bellona, Erlang or Ravana, get frostbound.

The 5th and 6th item are all situational, but generally contain a pen item and another defensive item.

  • If there are no counter-items you need, then you mostly want to take Mantle of Discord (Or spirit robe, it you want CCR) and Titan's Bane. On the AA warriors (Osiris, Ravana, Bellona, Erlang), Executioner will help more. You can also get Brawler's, Crusher or Jotunns here if you want one of those, and the enemy team is very squishy.

  • If you're getting rekt by a mage, Genjis is always good. If you're an AA warrior, and nobody else on your team has it, Shoguns is amazing. This build has a fair amount of HP, so Bulwark of Hope is great here too. If it's only the mage you need to worry about, you will want flat pen (brawler's, jotunns, crusher) rather than % pen, so you do as much damage to them as possible. Otherwise go the pen items mentioned above.

  • If you're getting shredded by a hunter, Nemean lion or Midguardian mail (If you haven't already gotten it) are your friends. Pick up Shield of Thorns and make them regret playing the game. You can either build more HP in your last slot, build both items, to stop getting shredded or follow the same principle as above and get flat pen to take them out asap if they're the only threat. Otherwise, pen options from the standard build

  • If a healer is bothering you Pestilence and Brawler's beatstick are your friend. You can buy one, or both, but you're either giving up % pen, or CDR of Mantle/Sprit Robe. Take that into account

Of course, building like an assassin, especially on Odin and Ravana works. (I play Erlang Shen as "Fat Kali" sometimes) but in the current meta, tankiness is quite valuable

Q: WHAT ARE THE TOP 3 WARRIOR JUNGLE (IMO), AND WHY?

Odin, Cu Chullain and Ravana.

They have good pressure throughout the game. Early game, they're killers. Lategame, they're proficient frontliners, and can dish out a ton of damage while taking a lot of hits.

Odin has his ult and bird bomb, which are insane in ganks early, and good in teamfights. Ravana has immunity, which allows him to be uber agressive in playstyle and relic choice, and Cu Chu just has tons of pressure and damage.

How do I stop being super underleveled when playing jungle?

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 10:22 AM PST

Even if I gank lanes and get some kills, I still fall behind everyone in the game (even the enemy jungler)

What's the most efficient way to farm as a jungler? What should I do and what should I not do?

Can we have a year in review website similar to this?

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 03:12 PM PST

I really want to know personal annual stats, especially the comparison chart. Things like average damage dealt per minute, or average gold, or wards placed, compared to players in other divisions to see what im lacking in.

Smite Community Satisfaction End of Year Survey Plus 1500 Gem Giveaway (LAST CALL)

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 06:14 AM PST

(THIS IS THE LAST CALL TO GET YOUR VOTES IN AND ENTER THE GIVEAWAY. VOTING WILL ONLY BE OPEN FOR A DAY OR TWO MORE.)

Hey everyone! So I've coming to you with our final community satisfaction survey for season 4 here on r/Smite to be able to involve everyone. This survey is based on your satisfaction with Smite in numerous ways from matchmaking, the new adventures, skins and much more. The data from everyone's responses will be posted here on the subreddit within a few days. Also, you do not have to answer every question! Only the first question of platform preference is required. This survey is completely anonymous and will show us some really informative insight into the community here. We have conducted similar surveys throughout the season with much success and a large turnout and I hope we can have the same again. These surveys have been going very well and results have been reviewed by members at HiRez themselves! I have not only subtracted questions that have been asked numerous times, but I have also added a few questions to gain just a little more detail. I haven't done one of these in a few months due to unfortunate family health issues, but I am excited to not only see the data from this survey, but also to compare them with results from throughout the year. With this data we can hope to see some good changes to Smite in the future.

As a HUGE Thank You to everyone here for an awesome year, I will be doing a Gem Giveaway of 1500 Gems (maybe 3500 depending on my financial situation at the time) of platform of choice. The Gem Giveaway will be at the end of the survey and will require either Reddit name, twitter name, email, or some form of communication.

The link is below and a big thank you to everyone for your help!

Why is Shaman's Ring so underused?

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 12:51 PM PST

Can someone explain to me why nobody uses Shaman's Ring? I had an Anubis on my team who built it and thrashed the enemy team hard. I can't see why it wouldn't be good, but I never see anyone build it. He also built Spear of the Magus which I also barely ever see built over Obsidian Shard, why is that rarely built?

Odyssey items sale?

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 07:30 PM PST

I can't recall if Hirez ever does a sale on Ody items at some point? Like a final sale or something where items may be 20% off or something. Xmas sale or "final chance" for Ody items at the end. I don't think there is and I know they've done the silly "release discount" on skins, but I was just wanting confirmation before I buy up the things I want that are left after everything is out.
