| I was going through my stuff in my basement, and found this! After I lost my job and had to move back home, I had to keep most of my things in the basement. I was searching for some wrapping paper and happened upon this... What a rush of nostalgia! | Message To The Influx of New Players Posted: 18 Dec 2017 07:42 PM PST Hey everyone! I don't have anything super important to say. Just a message for all the new players that have joined recently. Ill start by saying I absolutely love this game. I pre ordered it back in college in 2012 and played until level 30 or so on a few characters. Back then, I didn't (and couldn't) appreciate the weapon and combat mechanics where abilities are tied to weapons. I didn't like it and I felt that map completion was tedious and repetitive because all I really wanted to do was hit 80 and be done. I stopped playing and moved on. Fast forward to a few years later and I try again. Essentially the same thing happens but I get to 40 or so this time (progress!). I stop playing again and move on. Fast forward again a few years and I formed a guild, made friends, and found a new found interest in the game. I made my own goals and it kept me around for a while. However after a little while I developed tunnel vision on getting Ascended gear and raiding and what build was meta at the time. It made me frustrated that my class that I enjoyed couldn't be played how I wanted and the tunnel vision on that one singular goal burned me out and I stepped down as GM and moved on yet again. Now, about 8 months after that, I'm playing again. I got PoF, boosted a Revenant and have been enjoying everything I want at my own pace. I no longer have tunnel vision on getting Ascended gear and raiding. My point is: sometimes changing your perspective or expectations about something will allow you to really enjoy the game and I feel that this is how Guild Wars 2 is meant to be played. You're meant to enjoy all it has to offer from the story to WvW and Pvp and even Raiding if that's your thing. So all you new players, please don't go into this game thinking it's like other MMOs. Take your time, join a friendly and active guild, do everything that the game has to offer. Have goals but don't lose sight of what this game is about; community and having fun! | I want armors with no shiny effect. Posted: 18 Dec 2017 07:03 AM PST especially, for Legendary Armors. They are all too shiny so I can't mix-match with other armor pieces. It's separated pieces, but It's actually an outfit because I can't change any piece of them due to its shiny! just non-shiny is best solution for this. Recent armor - Svanir Gauntlets are same problem here. no shiny please... I'm not skritt. Edit: I'm not suggesting "REMOVING" shiny effect from all shiny armors, but I wrote this to say another alternative way to get remove of shiny effect like skin option such as "Shiny Off on my armor" or shiny removing dye, not removing shiny from skin..
