I made a logo and a brand manual for Big MT!

Posted: 08 Dec 2017 06:33 AM PST

Hey guys!

I applied to the Graphic Designer position on Obsidian and wanted to send more than the usual cover letter and resume, so I redesigned Big MT's logo and made a brand manual! It's heavily inspired by NASA's brand manual and I made it totally lore friendly. I'd love to hear some feedback! I hope you guys like this as much as I do!

How do you Justify being evil in fallout 4 role play wise?

Posted: 08 Dec 2017 11:58 AM PST

I've been playing a new run again recently and wanted to be evil. But with the game focusing around finding Shaun and. Ring a family man I found it hard to justify any excuse to not go and find him strait away. But then after about 3 hours of wondering around I found myself in far harbour questioning if I was a synth. I feel that's enough reason to fuck Shaun off and become a evil jerk who doesn't know right from wrong anymore. Does anyone have any similar story's?

NV will be my first Fallout game, should I play blind or use a walkthrough?

Posted: 08 Dec 2017 09:25 AM PST

I am a big fan of Star Wars the Old Republic and I heard that Fallout is a bit similar. Good storytelling and questing, one of the great RPGs. So I decided to try out New Vegas as my first intro into the Fallout series. But before I begin, I wanted to ask if I should use a walkthrough or not. I love min-maxing, but I also hate using guides. I like playing blind and enjoying the new and daunting experience. Is it okay to play New Vegas completely blind and simply learn as I go? Or does the game require me to use guides and find stuff online? If I use a walkthrough, will I regret it? Can't wait to dive in, thank you!

Please tell me your experience if you played blind!

Another 1.2GB update. For nothing. Ive been wanting to play twice now, but I have to download the "patch" to access network features. Like mods. Aka, if I dont update, I break my game. Who the **** thought that was a good idea? >_<

FO4: Does free roaming the wasteland interfere with side quests/main story line?

Posted: 08 Dec 2017 03:00 AM PST

Many moons ago I was roaming the wasteland in FO3 and stumbled upon a raiders settlement at a scrapyard facility which had underground bunkers deep beneath the earth.

After killing of the raiders I eventually took on a side quest later on and was then requested to attend the very same raider settlement only to arrive and they where all dead due to this being the reality of the Fallout series, if you kill someone their corpse remains permanently in most cases.

So if I killed AI in the wasteland in FO4 would it effect future missions?

Just wanna says thanks for the helpful feedback, cheers guys & galls

Fallout 4 kicks back to Desktop when loading

Posted: 08 Dec 2017 11:08 AM PST

So I've been playing Fallout 4 for the past 2 weeks, but yesterday when I went to continue my file, once I clicked load, it booted me back to my desktop, no error window or anything. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times, verifying integrity of the game files, messing around with the resolution, deleting .ini files, yet it still kicks me back whenever I try to load my game. If anyone has any way of helping then I will really appreciate it.

Fallout New Vegas/Tale of Two Wastelands Bugged, stuck in Black and White

Posted: 08 Dec 2017 11:11 AM PST

I was midway through the divide, and my screen went Black and White/Sepia Tone. I wasn't able to disable it through the Sneak Sight fix? Am I stuck like this?

unkillable characters really ruined fo4 for me

Posted: 07 Dec 2017 10:09 PM PST

So sometimes I love to-do the evil rollplay. One day I found my self short on caps, so a grabbed my X01 power armor a nice minigun and decided to shoot up goodneighbour. Of course to my surprise half the characters can't die.... This doesn't seem necessary. New Vegas had one immortal character if I remember correctly. Even then it made sense. But having every other character as immortal seems lazy, they couldnt have put in some loot that would move the plot along?

Does anyone else find it weird that in Fallout/2, the Miniguns were touted to have rates of fire around between 60 and 90 thousand RPM?

Posted: 08 Dec 2017 04:08 AM PST

I mean, think about it; The GAU-8 30mm autocannon on the A-10 has a rate of fire of about 3,900 RPM, fast enough it can chew through its reserves after only a few seconds of firing. It's useful for killing vehicles.

But these miniguns? They're meant for being used with Power Armour, most likely, or mounted on vehicles to be crew-served.

Given their calibre, ammo capacities only within the hundreds (about 240 max), and that they're also touted to be useful suppression weapons, wouldn't such vast rates of fire be both impractical and extremely difficult to control, and be useless for suppression?

For the supposed 'realism' the first FO games somewhat tried for, I think the devs used too much hyperbole for their miniguns.

New to FO, just bought NV is there any mods that I should install before playing?

Posted: 08 Dec 2017 06:28 AM PST

I remember when I got Knights of the Old Republic, there were mods I was told was essential for the gameplay which after finding out what it added, I agreed. I Or is there just anything I should know as a new player?

No armour character?

Posted: 08 Dec 2017 02:50 PM PST

So I'm still relatively new to fallout 4 (and video games alone) but I've been wondering whether a character who uses no armour, or little anyway, is feasible. I really like Piper's red trenchcoat and wanted to wear it but noticed it has very low defense, and it wouldn't really make sense for my character to go to the railroad and get the ballistic weave considering the way I've been playing, so is playing with no armour possible? I play on normal difficult because, like I said, I'm relatively new if that means anything. Just wondered if anyone has tried this and has any answers...

I think I broke New Vegas

Posted: 07 Dec 2017 09:15 PM PST

I played New Vegas several hundred times when it first came out, then got busy living life and raising my son.

I got the complete edition with all the dlc a couple months ago for like $15.

I was all excited and I've had a little bit of time to play here and there, but I somehow found a ridiculous way to make unlimited caps that I'd never discovered before, and couldn't find any information on it through google searches.

I keep fast traveling between the gun runners and camp forlorn hope every 3 days . I walk up to the 4 guard towers, sneak kill the veteran ranger in each, steal their guns, ammo, and armor, sell it, then repeat.

Does anyone know any good Performance-friendly weather or enviroment mods?

Posted: 08 Dec 2017 03:54 AM PST

i was wondering if anyone has some good mods that are performance friendly and change the enviroment and weather, for example by adding grass or snow. i feel like grass would be very welcome in the Fallout universe, ESPECIALLY 200 years after the bombs dropped. like FR there isn't a single smidgeon of green anywhere T_T
