- Does anybody else find it ironic that the Brotherhood of Steel is fighting to keep weapons of mass destruction away from humanity "for their own good", but constantly uses them at the first opportunity?
- Legendary enemies should be renamed. Legendary sponges seems more appropriate because they soak up all my fucking bullets.
- Fallout brotherhood of steel. Is by far the worst fallout game I’ve played. Anyone who says fallout 4 is the worst one, play brotherhood of steel. You’ll cry yourself to sleep for wasting hours of your life!

Posted: 14 Dec 2017 10:34 PM PST Edit: Seems like a lot of people aren't happy with fallout 4 story. its my first game in the series and genre overall so i don't have a frame of reference. For me I love the quests and the minor story lines that attach to a bigger one, though in fairness I'm not that far into it yet. The fact that there is a story going on(however terrible you guys think it is) at all is what i meant by story based rpg instead if something more akin to warframe. [link] [comments]
Posted: 15 Dec 2017 07:32 AM PST I mean the Brotherhood talks so much shit about pre-war tech destroying the world but the minute they get the chance to nuke downtown Boston all over again, they take it. [link] [comments]

[Fallout 4] I supposedly hate what the Brother of Steel stand for but I can't stop liking them Posted: 15 Dec 2017 02:52 AM PST I'm kind of new to the Fallout universe (3 was my first). I see a lot of distaste towards the BoS here and there but.. after hundreds of hours in Fallout 4 I can't stop liking them. Is it meant to be? Maybe its time to start shooting up ghouls and rounding up synths. [link] [comments]

What cheats do you find allowable? Posted: 15 Dec 2017 01:25 PM PST For example: I personally allow myself to use a cheat that lets me build more in a settlement because i think many of the settlements dont allow me to build enough. Though i dont allow myself to use any other cheats [link] [comments]

Improving the Settlement subgame in a future Fallout Posted: 14 Dec 2017 09:47 PM PST Presuming that there is settlement building in the next Fallout, I was thinking of ways that they can be improved. Build Modes There should be three modes for building a settlement, fully automated, semi-automated and fully manual. 1 - Fully manual is what you have in vanilla FO4. There are times where you want to do this, for whatever reason. 2 - Semi-automated is what you have with kinggath's Sim Settlements installed. You see to the power and water requirements of a settlement, lay out the building locations and let the settlers do the rest. This gives you finer control and can still do things like setting up turrets with interlocking fields of fire to augment the martial plots, etc. One of the nice things about Sim Settlements is that the settlements change over time, with construction and upgrades occurring in phases. 3 - Fully automated would be where the devs themselves have designed one or more layouts and the settlement fully builds itself, with no input needed from the player. This would be useful for the players that want to see the impact of their play on the world, but don't want any minecraft thrown into their shooter/RPG hybrid. NPCs One of the criticisms of FO4's settlements is that they displace settlements with flair (specifically, named NPCs with story and quests) for anonymous things. OTOH, they give you a clear sign of change in the landscape. What if certain NPCs appeared in settlements once they have reached a certain maturity. There is something like this in FO4, where some wasteland vendors become recruitable when you have settlements with certain features, but this is more along the lines of Settlement X reached growth stage Y, so the saloon gets built and the NPC is a named quest giver. Sort of a grow your own Diamond City/Megaton/Primm. Settlement defense Great idea. Executed badly in FO4. In F04, defense is capped at 100 in the workshop script for resolving defense; which gives the settlement a 50/50 chance of defending itself. So when Settlement X is bristling with gatling laser/missile turrets and has a defense value north of 300, there is still a 50% chance that it won't be able to defend itself. This is particularly annoying in survival mode, when the 15-hour window of making it to the settlement is not feasible, but you know that if you HAD reached the settlement, you could stand around and drink Nuka Cola while your settlement defeats the attackers in 2.2 milliseconds. That settlement bristling with weaponry probably won't be attacked very often and when it is, it will be a BIG attacking force. There is precedence for this in FO4. Defend the Castle is a possible radiant quest, though I've only ever seen the plot driven Institute/BoS versions in game; probably because it has high defensive scores, but only subsistence level water and food production. Very heavily defended settlements should not put out a call for help over a couple of ferals wandering too close. You should just see a message that its defenders handled a minor incident. Very rarely, when a settlement has valuable enough loot, it becomes a possible target for a Defend the Castle style massed attack. Salvaging One of kinggath's mod innovations is the Salvage Beacon and this should be a standard feature. You build a comms station and assign a settler and beacons in the chem station. Then you can drop whatever loot and a salvage beacon into a container and "settlers" (more like hired NPCs actually) are sent out to retrieve it. It allows you to "mark something for retrieval" and continue adventuring. They are also handy for shipping non-workbench shared equipment between settlements. [link] [comments]

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 05:51 AM PST For my 3rd Fallout 4 gameplay I decided I would try out Survival Mode for the first time, and HOLY SHIT does it make the game a lot more interesting. All of my tactics are now planned and my perks are chosen carefully. It was a hassle killing the raiders in Concord, but the real challenge was the Deathclaw. By the time I had killed the raiders, my fusion core had run out, so there I was toe to toe with a Deathclaw with nothing on but my Vault Suit. I hid behind a building and looked around hoping to use the environment to my advantage. I noticed that there were a few cars in Concord so I shot at the Deathclaw and made him charge towards me only for me to shoot at the cars causing them to explode and take a huge chunk of his health. This took about an hour and and all of my frustration but in the end it was worth it. [link] [comments]

[Fallout 4] "You sold us out to the brotherhood" tradecraft glitch Posted: 15 Dec 2017 02:24 AM PST So I started a new playthrough of Fallout 4 on PS4. I'm going with a heavy gun build this time, and decided to go railroad for my main faction. I finally get to the railroad, and find that Deacon won't talk to me to even start the quest "Tradecraft," instead, he just repeats "You sold us out to the brotherhood, the holier than thou brotherhood" whenever I try to talk to him. I haven't done any quest for the brotherhood of steel in this playthrough save for defending the police station. I had a few mods installed at the time (minor stuff like craftable ammo and unlimited settlement space), so I tried uninstalling all of them in order to resolve the issue, and that did not work. I tried loading a few levels back in order to change it, but that didn't work either (around level 23), multiple reloads. My last playthrough I sided with the brotherhood of steel, though that shouldn't affect a new playthrough. Any suggestions or fixes for PS4? [link] [comments]
