Welcome the Christmas Noobs with a Smile

Posted: 25 Dec 2017 10:49 PM PST

As a lot of us are aware that the holidays just came and passed AND ESO was on sale, which means a ton of ESO noobs. That being said, encourage your friends to be helpful and friendly, even if they've already answered the question a thousand times. Be patient and informative and nice. Who knows, one day they might be in your vet trial run.

Feeling Incredible Discouraged w/ Vet Dungeons. Am I the problem?

Posted: 25 Dec 2017 08:28 PM PST

Really sorry if this seems like a heated rant. I'm a bit frustrated but I also am legitimately wondering what's going on. I'm a 200 templar healer.

I feel like in 3 out of every 4 dungeon runs are completely unsuccessful.

So many people quit after a single boss encounter. Even if we win without anyone dying. Are they just not happy with the time it took to complete the encounter?

Is this just the reality of doing dungeons with randoms or is there something I'm missing.

My build may not be the most optimized but I definitely feel like I'm doing a good job fulfilling my roll.

Are other people experiencing this?

Housing and /r/ESOCribs

Posted: 26 Dec 2017 01:25 AM PST

Hello everyone. I just wanted to let you know that we are currently attempting to revitalize the /r/esocribs subreddit. Since it was created it quickly became a dumpsite for housing youtube links, but really no discussion. We don't want it to just be a show and tell subreddit, but also an ESO subreddit that discusses housing as well as furniture and decorating.

We've decided that one of the best ways to do that would be to have a weekly housing sticky that discusses a specific house and have visitors post screenshots of what they did with that house. Hopefully this will encourage discussion as visitors will have a common interest in a shared property.

We know the /r/esocribs subreddit has been dying a slow death since it was launched, but we'd like you to give us another chance.

This week we are discussing the inn and apartment rooms. We've decided to merge the inns and apartments into one combined post so that next week we can move on to a more unique house instead of spending 7 weeks on small single room apartments with no yards.

Also.. what would make /r/esocribs a more useful subreddit for you?

[Discussion] On the subject and viability of healtanking in the CWC era - Collection of ideas and issues

Posted: 26 Dec 2017 03:29 AM PST

I've recently toyed around a bit with the idea of making a healtank in CWC. I'd appreciate anyone willing to share their advice and experience.

Due to rather heavy sustain nerfs, healtanking hasn't been seen in the game for a while nor have there been any public builds using it. I've recently tried to get it working again, due to renewed interest in a group that can use cheese tactics by skipping mechanics through having high DPS (3 DDs) for the last boss in vDSA.

On my Breton Templar, I've had some (moderate) success with using 5pc seducer and 5pc alteration mastery, with a defending master resto on the backbar and asylum sword&shield/master's sword&shield on the front bar. Tri Stat glyphs+food, full sturdy and block cost reduction enchants. However, while this build has the needed sustain to heal properly and also permablock, it lacks health and armor. Health is at about 21k, while physical resists with buffs are at about 22-23k.

There are a few considerations one can make here: • Become an Argonian for more health and awesome sustain passives • ‎Invest attribute points into health • ‎Swap one of the sets for a different one

I believe it may be possible to swap seducer out for ebony armor, though this will only get me up to around 24-25k health , which would be 27k-28k health on an Argonian.

I also possess an Argonian warden with which I could try this setup without doing a race change. Seeing as I do not currently rely on any templar-specific skills and passives that do not possess an equivalent on the warden, however having never healed on a warden (only tanked) I do not know how much not having BoL will hurt me.

Does anyone have any tips, suggestions, etc? What are your own experiences with healtanking in CWC?

Would you advise race changing my Templar to an Argonian? I do not currently have plans to make him a DD, so I fear being a Breton may be a waste in both PvE and PvP anyways due to the incredibly strong Argonian racials.

My Experience With The Zone Chat So Far

Merry Christmas to me, now, how long do I stay in Vvardenfell

Posted: 25 Dec 2017 08:11 PM PST

New player here, and I understand there's a main questline and loads more content separate from Morrowind, so how should I immediately leave and come back, do all the stuff I want then leave for the vanilla game, or seitch back and forth. I'm being extra cautious after the Hinterlands scenario in Dragon Age

What DLC Should I Purchase?!

Posted: 26 Dec 2017 12:11 AM PST

I'm considering a return to the open-world adventures of the Elder Scrolls Online due to missing the atmosphere and random daily adventures however mostly for a return to Player versus Player dueling that is lacked in some of the other games that I play.

Obviously I know the game is much of a grind to get the best tier items and equipment that come from the completion of Veteran Mode Dungeons and Trials however I do enjoy the Quests and I wouldn't mind catching up on some of the Elder Scrolls based lore that comes with each Faction.

Keep in mind that I was once an ESO+ Member and I should have some Crowns left if anything is worth investing into? I'm partially open to either reactivating my membership to ESO+ or enrolling into a fitness gym - leaning towards the ESO+ considering that I could always work-out from home.

Which of the new DLCs are worth purchasing? I've also read that another DLC is ready for release however I was unable to find any information on it. Which has a bigger area for exploration? Best for equipping new gear for both dueling and group-play? How do you rate the story-line of each DLC? What are some of the themes from all of the latest DLCs?

Any new class variants doing well in either group Dungeons or Cyrodiil Alliance Wars?

[PS4] One Class to solo them all

Posted: 25 Dec 2017 11:53 PM PST

Greetings and salutations!

I'm new to this lovely game and so far Ive had a blast with a pseudo stamsorc tank (it survives really well but it lacks a bit too much damage wise)

My sorc is level 45 and increasing, but to prevent burn out of tanking I was looking into making a new char . . . personally both the NB and Templar caught my attention (DK too but I have 3 friends playing that already)

what I am looking for is a class and build which can breeze its way along the game, be it dungeons , story, anything goes

however, I really prefer melee weapons, and all the "big bad soloers" I see around are based on either a staff or a bow. . .

anyone can help me with this ?

tl;dr I need to know which one of these 2 can deal a good amount of damage(ST and AOE) while being survivable at the same time without using staff weapons or bow (melee is happiness, melee is love.) and preferably with a build or some guidelines on which skills , sets and so on to use.

thanks in advance

Posted: 26 Dec 2017 03:33 AM PST

First option: 5 fortified brass medium 3 agility with a damage monster set using rally and shuffle

Second option: 5 heavy shacklebreaker or seventh legion 3 agility with defensive monster set using forward momentum

I dont like using dw btw.

Which one do you think perform better?

If you have any other suggestions i would love to hear them as long as they re easy to obtain.

Confused about Stamina DPS, sets and sustain

Posted: 26 Dec 2017 02:50 AM PST

I'm getting a headache on my StamPlar - CP600 - RedGuard - Vampire

I'm currently playing Hundings + TFS + StormFist but I can barely keep 28k dps on 3m dummy

The biggest problem I'm having is sustain, it's way harder compared to magicka

There are so many sets it gets confusing (Hundings / Automaton / Warmachine / VO / TFS / Nightmother / ...)

I was thinking to switch TFS->VO, but it's so difficult to get the weapons

Which sets do you use? How do you manage sustain?

Also, does NightMother + VO works? (so I don't have to get VO weapons)
