I have played a day of Public Events with the Electronica Shell equipped and one without it. It does not provide additional loot. It's time to give us transparent numbers on all 'boosts' so the community can track them.

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 03:17 AM PST

Starting with the XP throttling mess, I have to say a lot of the 'boosts' are shady and not transparent. Another day, a user claimed the "All XP gains increased by 10%" from the Cosmos Shell, for example, does not for some reason stack with the Fireteam Medallion.

I was lucky to acquire the Exotic Electronica Shell which is supposed to provide "increased loot from public events on all destinations".

This is not working. All Public Events still give me a chance of a blue item and a token. See Edit 5

It's time for Bungie to give us numbers on these stats so we can track them properly. Is this another bugged thing? Remember, those are Eververse items, which means you can pay for them and in no way see the benefit advertised. I enjoy the game and try to keep salt to a minimum, but all these shady 'boosts' and hidden mechanics of what stacks and what doesn't to hinder progression in a way Bungie wants it is just complete and utter bullshit.

Edit: I want to be clear, it's the description of the items that I find bogus and unclear. "Increased loot" to me does not mean a "chance for increased loot" or a "chance for BETTER loot", those are three different things. Secondly, why are the mechanics behind all of these items so shady? Why does the cosmos shell not stack? I agree this "sample" is not a really significant sample size or a statistically relevant outcome. It's about the fact that there are bogus descriptions in items you are being sold that do not work together with other items and also are phrased in a way that give you the feeling of some great perk when in fact you are all probably right and it raises the chance of an exotic from 0.015% to 0.016% which obviously one person can not possibly validate. It is a matter of transparency and fairness, that items behind a loot box sale system are clearly described.

Edit2: Look, I understand that clearly I should not expect an exotic from every public event, I just want you to think about this for a second: There is no way Eververse is not designed in order for you to go in there and think "wow, look at this cool shit, cool, this one even gives increased loot from public events. Ok, I will get some Silver, I want that" - perks like this being in a mtx loot box system is already borderline disgusting, but then they aren't even noticable? So there is two solutions: It's either tiny because the community would be outraged that there are items sold that give a tangible benefit to the experience or it's bugged. I think it's the former, but that makes the placement and the item descriptions in the Eververse just intentionally shady. That's my point.

Edit3: I have done the winding cove event now four times for exp comparisons. Each time, I only rallied to the flag and shot the ship (for heroic). Here are the results:

Forgot to take a screenshot for the last two, if people think I'm bullshitting I will oblige.

Edit4: Bungie replied

This is not working. All Public Events still give me a chance of a blue item and a token.

Edit5: In light of Bungie's response, I find it fair to strike through that comment since it's only really valid on Mercury. The larger point still stands, though, buff stacks are not working in the case of XP and remain elusive with regards to loot drops, phrasing of the items still leaves room for interpretation. This is still not a great way to market things for loot box purchases.

Can us Titans get some better looking shoulder armor?

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 04:46 AM PST

This is kind of a nitpick, but Titans' shoulder pads are currently bigger than Ajit Pai's ego. The only ones in the game that aren't comically oversized are the Lost Pacific Gauntlets and the Iron Banner Gauntlets.

[EDIT] And a side note: why does the Eater of Worlds armor make us look like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man?

[EDIT 2] This post got more attention than I thought it would...

Please Make a Lone Wolves Playlist

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 05:22 AM PST

I really don't come on here to complain, or ever offer suggestions to help improve the game, just because most of the time it doesn't seem worth it. But if Bungie really does have the radio waves open, then this is worth a shot. I play on PC and have a short friends list, and an even shorter list of people who still login to D2 with regularity. I love the crucible, thats my home and where I love to spend my time. In D1 it was much easier to solo queue and be able to do really well and even win against teams of 3+. D2, with its current Meta and TTK, doesn't really offer the same type of opportunity. Playing a team of 4 over and over, in different playlists, and sometimes the same team even after queuing for a new lobby, is extremely frustrating when you are matched with 3 other people not using comms and not utilizing team work. With the addition of mayhem, Bungie has shown that they can add new modes, and I pray to the Traveler that Lone Wolves makes a comeback. Side note, to all the people who are gonna tell me to find people on LFG or whatever, I make youtube videos and queueing with a stacked team does not offer very good content for my viewers. Thank you.
TLDR: Bungie pls make a Lone Wolves playlist so I don't shatter my monitor.
EDIT: I almost regret making this. this sub man...

A Guide to Changing Your Selfie Angle

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 11:08 AM PST

Greetings Guardians! The last few months have had their ups and downs, but one thing from Curse of Osiris has risen above the rest -- the selfie emote. This one small exotic has united many Guardians out in the wild as they all group up on fallen glimmer piles for a quick snapshot.

But you don't want to be the Guardian that cuts out your Hunter from the team photo, or exposes your Titan's double chin to the rest of the world. In case you didn't know, there are ways to control the look and feel of your selfie directly within the game.

Without further ado, I present to you a brief guide to taking better selfies.

There are 9 selfie angle modifications I have discovered, which are highlighted in the above picture, and described below in this TL;DR.

  • Normal
  • Look up first - increases field of view (FOV)
  • Look down first - decreases FOV
  • Crouch first - angles the camera upward, normal FOV
  • Crouch first, then look up - angles the camera upward with increased FOV
  • Crouch first, then look down - angles the camera directly up toward your face
  • Sit first - works differently depending on environment, but generally angles up with large FOV
  • Dance first - provides a very straight-on selfie of your face with decreased FOV
  • Wave first - increases FOV slightly

In my opinion, the most helpful selfie mods are looking up first to increase your FOV, or waving first to accomplish a very similar affect. The exact changes to your selfie angle will vary depending on what class you're playing, and how much space is in your surrounding environment. I found that sitting first resulted in a very wide angle shot angled upward if I was out in an open field with my Hunter, but the affect was far less noticeable in tighter spaces, or with my Titan.

Good luck to you all as you pursue the true Destiny 2 end game -- pure, undiluted vanity.

EDIT: Awesome tip from /u/kegarr here -- someone in your fireteam can push you into the shot

Saint-14 knew we were coming.

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 05:38 AM PST

Lore: Helm of Saint-14

"He walked out into the demon light. But at the end he was brighter." —Paean to Saint-14

//AUDIO UNAVAILABLE// //MAINTENANCE FRAME TRANSCRIPT FOLLOWS//

SX: You know what they say about Titans.

C6: They're loud and abrasive?

SX: The good ones are all dead.

C6: You don't know that Saint is dead.

SX: The greatest Titan who ever lived just disappeared. Call it a hunch.

[A generator roars.]

C6: No one ever put down a Kell faster than he could. But man, he was a real weirdo.

SX: Eccentricity was his strength.

C6: Talking about the Speaker like you're related to him is eccentric. Claiming he's seen the future, that he fought Six Fronts fueled on the idea that some Guardian savior is coming? That's insane.

SX: Belief is a hell of a thing.

C6: Sure, yeah. One Guardian's going to fix everything. Kick Crota off the Moon. Make it look like us Vanguard know our head from our hindquarters. Hey, where are you going?

SX: One of the new recruits from Old Russia I've had my eye on—entering the Crucible for the first time.

C6: Hey, maybe they're the one. We'll call 'em Crota's End.

in short, Saint-14 saw us through someway (likely either vex tech or through a vex travel) in the future.

we basicly are Guardian Jesus.

Tokens from the strike gifts ARE affected by ghost shells that reward extra consumables, if you open the gifts while being in a strike.

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 03:42 AM PST

From opening roughly 20 gifts it feels like 40-50% of them grant 6 instead of 5 tokens if you have a ghost shell that grants an additional consumable while being in a strike.

Outside of strikes these gifts are not affected, hence only rewardings you with 5 tokens!

Easiest way to grind gear since update

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 07:00 AM PST

1) Load into tower

2) Buy pvp boons from Shaxx

3) Load into a quickplay match with a squad of 4

4) all pop boons

10 mins later

5) enjoy around 4 rares, 2 legendaries, a decent chance at a exotic drop and at least 22 tokens

6) rinse and repeat 3) - 5)

7) profit

this is by far the best way to grind for your MW gear.

My friend and I found the brand new Crucible Meta. And it's actually fun!

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 08:53 AM PST

This clip is from my friend's POV, uploaded with his love and permission. I am the titan in the clip. The New META

First, the story. It all began when we were in competitive Crucible and watched a hunter ping his Titan friend with the Telesto post match. We saw that the Telesto shots stuck to the titan. We thought "Hmm, if they stick... Can we?"

THE STRAT: Have your titan run any shoulder charge, I use arc or solar (Arc in the clip) And the Mark 44 Stand Asides. Then have your you, regardless of class, stick your friendly Titan with Telesto shots (Pro Tip: Normally you'd arm up close to increase the amount of Telesto shots you actually land on your titan.) (BE WARNED: Telesto shots can be broken off with bullets, sticking to the front provides maximum detonation chance and damage, but may mean that the titan runs out of boom before they arrive!) Tell your titan friend to run in guns blazing at full health and charge the first person they see, their target will more than likely die. REMEMBER: Telesto shots have a timer, though they proximity detonate and detonate faster on enemies, they do have a lifespan when stuck to your titan. Generally you want to watch for any blip on your radar before arming.

That clip doesn't do it much justice, as you can't see it's full devastating power, but believe me, it works. (And it's fun!)

So grab a Titan, have some fun, and force-feed your foes some Pop-rocks!

EDIT: Forgot that my friend wanted me to mention. This strat was so safe for hims as the Pop Rock man he got a we ran out of medals.

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 06:45 AM PST

/u/justcallmebutter posted a funny clip about SRL and it reminded me of a post /u/yoloswagginater submitted last year.

I had to search through my comment history to find yolos post at which point I came across lots of epic montages from D1. Those videos just arent happening much anymore and I miss seeing them here.

Add all missions to the map and, critically, add heroic modifiers to Ikora's Meditation Missions

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 08:08 AM PST

I would like to be able to play any mission I want whenever I want for fun and to relive the story. Raising all of Ikora's missions to heroic difficulty (with modifiers of course) would give them a reason to still exist and make them worth doing for the reward.

Some Predictive Learning Written Destiny 2 Patch Notes: The one about crucible dynamic shield detonation kills

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 08:00 AM PST

So I ran a bunch of the Destiny 2 patch and update notes into the Botnik predictive writer...

It's basically an auto-complete program that goes off of text you feed to it in order to spit out something that looks like it came from the same source of the text you fed to it.

So here are some rather silly patch notes for Destiny 2… If they were written by your phone.

7.7.7 The one about crucible dynamic shield detonation kills

General

  • Fixed an issue where the Cabal drill on Nessus would not receive a faction themed reward from your patience and feedback.
  • Fixed an issue that caused players to encounter players on the same network.
  • Fixed an issue with ambitious activities and playlists that would result in a crash when leaving the intended power cap.
  • Fixed legibility issues with each pulse grenade archetype.
  • Fixed an issue that caused players to not spawn during crucible matches.
  • Fixed a rare memory attack that would result in a healing rift on strike completion.
  • Fixed an issue allowing some players to encounter mercy ammo locations at higher ranges of Destiny.
  • Fixed invisible physics on strike completion.
  • Fixed many cases where players could lose access to the user's fireteam members.
  • Fixed an issue where faction victory flags would not receive a player indicator.
  • Improved clarity on guide completion fixes and Drang tokens.

Economy

  • General performance system now sells a fireteam streak challenge on the first completion of our best content.
  • Reduced glimmer earned from some public system.
  • Reduced the amount needed to complete the final character inventory when players create a new seasonal armor material.
  • Increased the rate of additional grenade mods beyond the first completion of the Destiny franchise.

PvE

  • Players can now exit the prestige nightfall to acquire the scout rifles and faction themed rewards from public events.
  • Adjusted prestige difficulty rewards from your faction tokens at the same activity.
  • Reduced the frequency of players respawning into dangerous dynamic legendary rewards.
  • Adjusted the grenade archetypes from strike completions and faction tokens at a recommended power level.

Crucible

  • Crucible matches can now exit the game using improper lighting on player ships.
  • Reduced missing buff damage from Wardcliff shake counter.
  • Players traveling to the veteran's sequence with other rewards upon match completion now have a recommended playable physics inventory.
  • Reduced mercy system handling from your best players.
  • Improved the accuracy of legendary attacks when comparing sniper actions from the postmaster.
  • Increased damage inflicted to combatants with each new expansion.
  • Trials of the nine will now display a brief activity completion rate for all stairs in quickplay.

People are getting dupes from Xur's Fated Engram

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 09:52 AM PST

Several reports of this coming in over in the Discord - You may want to wait for a little while and see if Bungie addresses this/see if this is corroborated before you buy one.

The display shown when inspecting an engram DOES NOT dictate what the contents of the engram is!

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 12:01 PM PST

This has been tested, disproven, tested, and disproven many times. I saw a thread where someone inspected a Fated Engram and showed exotics that they already own, stating that Fated Engrams do not guarantee a new exotic which is completely false. Please bump so people know about this and don't falsely accuse Bungo for lying about Xür's new gift.

Heroic strikes and normal strikes don't share challenge progress

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 03:48 AM PST

I don't know if this is well known, but I found that challenges completed on one strike playlist don't count to the other one, so if you're farming challenges for the vanguard ornament, you can complete 6 challenges every day.

I feel like this might resonate with some of you guys and your fireteams too

Edit: sorry to see that most of the conversation about strikes in the comments is negative. I'm blessed with a good group of friends so I don't deal with randoms often.

On that note, shout out to the Red Rovers. Best clan in Destiny

You guys remember how hard it was to get to 335 in destiny 1 when the taken king dropped . That was a really grind . Not like this do 45 public events to get another sub machine gun. I am having fun . But a weapon forge on every planet would be a nice touch

Let us reimagine how Osiris story might have gone

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 03:30 AM PST

Last time it went ok, so I decided to give it another try. This piece turned up much harder to write than I expected and ended up a wild fantasy of mine (and possibly rubbish, but I rather hear your opinion than let it die in my drafts). I'm neither a skilled writer nor native English speaker, so pls be gentle. Also, I have borrowed a couple of ideas from r/DTG and few other places. If you see something you have posted, you have my gratitude (special thanks to u/DragonzzillaPrime).

It is a pitch-black night. Time is frozen. Triangle portal opens and Osiris steps onto the forest grass.

Sagira: It took you way too long, I have almost started missing you.

They walk through the trees and greens. Leaves hang in the air, trees a slightly bend by the wind, nothing moves. Almost nothing can be seen, only a tiny orange light in the distance.

Osiris: We stepped into the portal together. Does not matter. This is not the place we supposed to be.

He puts out a portal Rubik's cube, does a few manipulations and creates another portal. They enter. Things go pretty much as in the opening cinematics with Osiris and Sagira being pinned down behind the small block of Vex architecture in the end. Osiris creates another portal.

Osiris: You must leave! We need help. Find Asher, he will at least understand… maybe Ikora…

Sagira struggles

Osiris: Go, there is to time!

Sagira starts moving to the portal. Vex are pressing. She is hit but manages trough. Osiris is suppressed behind the stone, picking Vex one by one…

Story mission starts immediately after the cinematics, no loading screens. You play as Osiris. Forge hand cannon and scout, and exotic linear fusion rifle (heavily modified hobgoblin gun). D1 cooldowns on abilities. The mission is simple – you have to battle through Vex to the next portal. Adds spawn constantly and in increasing numbers, so sooner or later you end up being surrounded by multiple yellow-bar enemies. You die. The screen fades slowly. After ten seconds an R1+L1 (I'm on PS, so figure out for other platforms) prompt appears on the screen. Radiance in its full Osirian glory! Super energy drains very slow and generously refills on kills. You are surrounded by flames damaging anyone who is close enough. Health regens constantly and rapidly. Double movement speed, you floating above the ground leaving a trail of damaging flames behind. Enemies killed by solar grenades combust spreading flames. Vex carcasses and scorched earth everywhere. You make it to the portal. Screen turns bright white.

White light fades. It is a sandy landscape. Sagira lies half-buried under the sand, no signs of life. Distant steps disturbing the sand become louder and louder.

Wonderer behind the scene: I hate sand…

Someone walks closer to Sagira and kneels. Hand picks her up.

The Tower. Guardian walks to Ikora. She tells her (my main is female Hunter, feel free to put your Guardian in her place) about Sagira, Vex activity on Mercury and sends you there to investigate.

Ghost: Aren't we suppose to tell Zavala?

Ikora: Osiris is… a controversial figure. There is no need to disturb the old wounds… for now.

Guardian: He has wisdom the City, the Vanguard might use. And after the Caba…

Ikora (in a calm but freezing voice): He IS wise, but also dangerous, both him and his wisdom. Guardians are not banished for nothing. Now go.

Both Guardian and Ghost leave.

Guardian: Ghost, prepare my Vex arsenal and plot a course for Mercury.

Ghost: Very funny. You don't have Vex arsenal remember, Cabal attack and everything.

They proceed to hangar in silence.

Story mission. Nothing special, just a Mercury introduction. You save Brother Vance from the Vex assaulting the Lighthouse.

Brother Vance is grateful but cautious. You speak about Reef and Trials for a bit. He tells you how he ended up on Mercury. After he found out what was your task on Mercury, he suggests that there is a temple in EDZ that has a device to revive Sagira.

Story mission: Pretty much the same as the original Deadly Trial (the one where you drove Fallen pike), except this time it is on a hidden timer, a very pressing timer. You can save the followers for additional unique rewards (exotic quest maybe) if you are on time to the shrine. You revive Sagira. She merges with your Ghost.

Sagira tells about Osiris being in the Infinite Forest and that he saw something of great importance, great danger, but she does not know exactly what it was. She insists on going to Io in hope that Asher might know something. Guardian refuses because the matter is bigger than one man, Osiris or not, and must be reported to Vanguard immediately. Sagira resists but agrees at the end.

The Tower. There are Ikora, Cayde-6, Zavala, and Asher Mir. Guardian approaches.

Guardian (to Asher): It is not that you are a Tower dweller. What is it you came for, old man?

Asher (he visibly is not well): It is not your business… but maybe you can be useful. Yes, see me on Io assistant!

He leaves. Guardian watches him moving away. She proceeds to tell the Vanguard what she learned, Sagira adds a few pieces about Osiris and Infinite Forest, that it is a giant reality engine Vex use to find most promising timelines to pursue. There is an intense discussion. Zavala is dead serious about Osiris being an exile and the City should not put itself at risk because of him. The other two are more curious, pointing out that Osiris would not seek for their help if it was not the City or even the whole Humanity under the risk already. Colonel clucks ominously. In the end, all agree to find Osiris and ask him personally. The problem is that only Osiris can access Infinite Forest.

Sagira reminds of Osiris words about Asher. So you decide to visit Io, especially when Asher already 'invited' you.

The Hangar. Guardian takes last preparations. Sagira is buzzing around. She is a bit troubled with the inevitability of meeting Asher's Ghost.

Lakshmi-2 approaches.

Lakshmi-2: (speaking low and at a slow pace; Any other fans of Shohreh Aghdashloo voice acting?): I have heard that you are on the journey again… but you do not know how to move forward.

Sagira: Where exactly have you heard it?

Lakshmi-2: In the Inner Circle.

Guardian: What does Future War Cult might want from us? I don't believe you are here to remind of another war in front of us.

Lakshmi-2: Do I have to remind? Future War Cult might help you, we have our own experience in… simulated realities, and in the keys to them.

Sagira: So you have the key to the Forest?

Lakshmi-2: Of course, I don't have any keys, but I know where you can find it.

Sagira: And in return, you want us what, weep for it?

Lakshmi-2: Data, everything you can bring from behind those gates. This Forest of yours is not just a simulation, its reality engine. A thousand lives can be lived in a second there, a thousand worlds explored, a thousand timelines experienced – this is invaluable.

Sagira: If you can survive through this.

Lakshmi-2: Do you have another fate than war?

Guardian: We will think of it.

Lakshmi turns around.

Lakshmi-2: And one more thing, there is an item we… extracted from Tower Vaults for research purposes. Upon Speaker's permission, of course. It's on Venus, the Archive, and there are too many Fallen for us. You might be interested in getting it back.

Guardian: What's so special about it?

Lakshmi-2: It is a weapon and victory often rests on the correct weaponry being in the right place and at the right time. Even the most destructive weapons of war are worthless if absent from the battle.

Sagira: You sound like we the weapon too.

Lakshmi-2: Don't fool yourselves. War is all we are. Killing is all we are good for. The rest is a delusion.

She is gone. You board the ship

Story mission time. You have to choose Asher or Lakshmi, the other one becomes inaccessible.

Io/Asher

  • First mission: Asher explains that his other half, the Vex one, is way more active than it ever used to be. Per his findings, it is related to the exponential increase of Vex activity across the System. It has to be stopped, or otherwise, Asher would be consumed by Vex at even faster pace than he usually is. You are off to investigate and ties lead to Nessus.

  • Second mission: You find a powerful Mind that prepares Nessus for a massive Vex gathering. You kill the Mind. Asher tells you that he is way better now and can use Mind's core to open the Infinite Forest.

  • Third mission: Asher doing his science-magic stuff on the Forest gate while you fighting off the Vex. At the pinnacle of the battle, Vex are overwhelming, Asher sacrifices himself to finish the process. The reward is an old damaged hand cannon that Asher kept for an unknown reason (quest item, goes to inventory).

Exotic quest: Investigate the lead on Venus Lakshmi gave you. Fallen completely looted the Archive but you are able to find a Fallen weapon schematics on a body of dead Captain. Complete a long list of activity and grind requirements with the modified Strike at the end of questline for the exotic rocket launcher, firing mechanics similar to the scorch cannon.

Venus/Lakshmi

  • First mission: You rush to the Archive on Venus only to find out that Fallen left with your item a few hours ago. You run down fallen near the Ketch. You continue through the ship, the final battle is on the main bridge. You finally got your weapon from dead Archon hands – it is damaged and undistinguishable (quest item, goes to inventory).

  • Second mission: Lakshmi gives you the list of items the Cult needs to create the key to the Forest. Nothing special – roam Venus and kill several yellow-bars, boss Mind in the end with its core being the final component. You take everything to the Tower. Lakshmi gives you the key and an item, which Cult had for a very long time. There is no record or explanation on where the item might have come from, the only known thing is that it was meant for this very moment.

  • Third mission: Pretty much the same as that of Io/Asher version. The changes are – Sagira is using the key instead of Asher; at the final stage enemies come from the Forest portal. You use the mysterious item Lakshmi gave you to summon Praedyth (or his projection) from the Forest, he helps to purge the rest of Vex. You try to speak with him, but he turns and disappears in the Forest portal without a word.

Exotic quest: Go to Io, to check on Asher. He is missing. After some time, roaming Io and exploring caves you find a record of Asher revealing that Vex corruption is spreading too intensively through his body and he left to a specific place to end his own life before it's too late. You go to the marker (very deep into the caves) only to find out that old Warlock did not succeed and became a Vex Gatekeeper. Battle: He is immune and packs a hard punch (so you have to move fast and stay behind cover most of the time) unless you kill some Oracles, which in turn stuns him and starts a damage phase. If you leave any single Oracle alive long enough it will wipe you (or a single member of a Fireteam). The reward is a Vex-themed exotic sword, which allows you to teleport a short distance forward on a heavy hit.

Results: Asher is sadly dead. His Ghost becomes Io vendor and sells armor with cool perks and the hidden feature of spawning Vex majors on your location, the probability and number enemies increases with a number of armor pieces you have on. And one more quest.

Exotic quest "A Weapon Lost in Time": Just a very long and boring list of activities and grind requirements to complete under a variety of conditions to gather materials for repairs of whatever you have chosen (Asher or Lakshmi). A couple of very hard modifies strikes at the end to get Vex and Fallen tech for Gunsmith. You get one of two exotics – nothing less than Fatebringer (goes to energy weapon slot) or Vex Mythoclast (goes to power weapon slot and acts like a short-to-medium range slow RoF LMG).

The Infinite Forest is open.

Story mission: You explore the simulation to find Osiris (the real one) surrounded by enemies. After the battle, he gives you a 'tour' around the Forest, tells about Panoptes, and offers some explanation on how he survived this long without his Ghost and what he had been doing all along. In fact, he was venturing into the Forest to disrupt most promising Vex simulations.

You walk the endless planes of the past Mercury (you can look around).

Guardian: I do not understand. If the Vex can travel through time and space, what is the reason for these simulations. They can travel back to past to end us before we even became sentient species. I have seen records of Vex remnants on Mars and Venus predating Golden Age, predating Earth being a livable planet. They could have ended us once and for all, the could have even made us do not begin at all.

Osiris: There is more than one question you ask. Tell me first, do you know of a single attack of Vex on the City?

Guardian (confused): No.

Osiris: So maybe destruction of Humanity itself is not what they seek.

Time shifts forward. It is a Vex arrival on past Mercury.

Osiris: Vex power over time and space is not absolute, they can barely navigate the Ocean of time, their boats are fragile and the waters are cruel. In the unending multitude of timelines, Vex are finite. So are you in this Universe. What if you need to find a place, a place of peace. Will you search every star, every planet, every corner of space? Or will you run predictions, build sensors and scan most likable areas to find your Xanadu? Vex are no different – they a have goal, and they are persistent. They search for the outcome, the ultimate plexus of variances and probabilities. If a timeline is worth to pursue they act.

Osiris opens a portal, you step inside. It's a dark vex maze. On a distant platform, there are three Guardians fighting Hydra and Oracles (all are frozen in time). Their armor is of old fashion, the Hunter wearing a strange cloak with an image of squid. Osiris does not stop walking, Guardian follows.

Guardian: What do the Vex want then?

Osiris: As any living being they seek survival at any cost. They are already immortal by most conventional standards, but in every model of the future, they are inevitably consumed by the Darkness or banished by Light, forces they can barely understand. This is why Darkness consumed them in the Black Garden, this is why you will defeat them here (he nods toward the distant platform with three Guardians and Hydra). And their only chance for survival is to find a timeline where Light and Darkness destroy one another. To that end, they have devised Panoptes, the Infinite Mind, an intelligence unlike any before, to sift through the now-possible futures for the one that will result in their victory. We cannot let that happen. It would mean the end of everything.

Sagira: This what you have seen inside that portal?.

Osiris nodes and opens another portal. You continue walking, but he holds you by the shoulder. You look inside the portal – It is Earth. The Sun is dead with only a small glimpse of heat and light. The sky is dark without a single cloud, there are no stars. The remnants of a great battle lie before you: Hive ships, crushed Tower, a dead Traveler in the middle. Vex are everywhere standing motionless.

Osiris: This is the future we must avert.

He closes the portal and opens another one.

Osiris: We must leave now.

You end up outside of the Infinite Forest. Osiris is tired and tells that continuing without Sagira is too dangerous for him. Guardian is tasked to find a new shell. Osiris meanwhile will stay in the Lighthouse, discussing with Brother Vance future of his Cult.

One story mission later you are back to Osiris with a new shell – 'Shell of Former Glory' (standard shell geometry with the small 'number seven' insignia)

While you were away the Vex are amassing on Mercury having predicted you would try to kill Panoptes. Entrance into the Infinite Forest is shielded.

Story mission: You have to establish a few outposts around the Mercury to prepare a foothold for incoming Vanguard reinforcements.

Entire Mercury is a giant battleground with Vex, Player and NPC Guardians. The most of action is happening near the Forest entrance. Zavala is in command. Ikora and Osiris devising a plan. When everything is set, Guardians launch a massive assault on the Forest entrance.

You and Osiris will enter past Mercury through the Forest to meet Panoptes the moment it was summoned (gladly Osiris have been long enough inside the Forest to know where and when it happened). If you do not have a full Fireteam, Zavala and Ikora will go with you. After you fought through the Forest platforms there are three portals leading to the different areas in the past. All three are featuring different maps and encounters. You can choose one. Even Osiris does not know which one is the right one and explains something about variances in the timeline you made when entered the Forest. You split up. Eventually all three merges into the final area with the boss. When the boss is almost dead multiple restorative Minds appear to heal Panoptes, and he is about to wipe you from reality. Osiris manages to open the portal in the boss' core and start to advance. Your task is to protect him. The very moment he enters the portal a massive solar explosion erupts, Panoptes warps inside the portal and disappears in a blink of an eye together with Osiris. Reality begins to crush around you. You are teleported outside of the Forest.

It is all over. Zavala does a small speech that he was wrong and Osiris was a true friend and mentor. Ikora is silent. Sagira looks at the Forest entrance, but nothing happens. Ghost bitches a bit. Cayde-6 is not here because he has issues with Vex since the incident on Nessus.

ALL campaign missions are repayable. A new quest (it's very long) on Mercury appears 'The Fate of Praedyth'. Infinite Forest is a playable activity with selectable modifiers and length, rewards scale accordingly. Lighthouse gear is Vex-themed.

THE END

Camp in the forest not far from the old Farm. Late night. Small bonfire, four figures are sitting around. Only silhouettes are visible under the fluttering orange light. One of them is armed. She is a Guardian, her appearance is visibly old – armor of ancient designs, scratches on weapons, and decorations of long-forgotten origins. Her Ghost is 'sleeping' on her knee.

City dweller #1: So you fought in Red War? My grandad told me stories.

Guardian: Is he this old?

City dweller #1: No, I believe he heard them when he used to live outside the City. Never mind, he is long dead by now.

Guardian: You should be visiting Archives more, rather than listening to stories.

City dweller #2: There are no archives here. Maybe you can tell us another one of yours?

City dweller #1: The one about… glass vault. What was the name of it?

Guardian: It's the Vault of Glass…

Guardian (quietly, so no one seems to hear): I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Hive ships on fire assaulting Cosmodrome. I watched Vex-beams glitter in the dark near the Infinite Forest Gate. All those moments will be lost in time…

Guardian is telling something, others are listening to her motionless. Bonfire close-up. The fire takes strange shapes of Vex… Guardians fighting each other… Ether erupting from a giant Fallen… Hive thralls rushing…

Ghost (screaming in Dinklage's voice): WE'VE WOKEN THE HIVE!

Ghost (voice back to normal): Uh, just a bad dream…

Sagira: I don't believe you were sleeping. You are a GHOST! Do you even need such thing as a sleep?

City dweller #3: I thought you suppose to have only one… of those… ghosts. Forgive me, it's probably not my business.

Guardian: She is not my Ghost, but she is my friend. When things happen to a Guardian some Ghosts find a new Guardian, other fade or disappear, but she decided to stay with me.

Sagira: You asked me, remember.

Guardian (smiling): Of course I did.

Guardian continues her story. Ghost is now floating above her shoulder adding jokes from time to time. Sagira floats away. She is slowly moving between trees. The bonfire is far behind her, it's pitch black night. Suddenly a white light reveals green forest and fades away promptly. A Warlock is standing on the motionless forest grass.

Sagira: It took you way too long, I have almost started missing you.

Lakshmi-2 (behind the scenes): An infinity of timelines. If one timeline in a trillion knows peace, how could you ever hope to find it?
