I probably would never have played this game if One Tamriel wasn't a thing

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 06:33 PM PDT

I'm a ES single player fan, and not really big on MMO's at all. I tried ESO when it came to consoles for the first time, and I really didn't enjoy it. I hated how I was restricted to one zone within a certain level threshold. It made most of the quest content pointless if you didn't complete it as soon as you found it.

Picked it up recently and I'm loving it. Without all the alliance restriction BS it's much better imo. It's actually got me liking the MMO aspects more than I initially did. I've even dabbled in a bit of PvP, though I much prefer the PvE.

Was One Tamriel a unanimously good thing to everyone, or were there things that the hardcore community didn't like for whatever reason?

I really hope ZOS ends up fleshing out the fishing system in this game.

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 12:58 PM PDT

I feel as though it's a skill that's been completely ignored for a long time. I REALLY enjoy fishing in this game during my down time or while waiting for a dungeon queue. It's a nice way of making money and gunning for that Master Angler achievement is something to work towards but...Why is there no fishing skill line?

They could add skills to the game similar to the crafting skills. Give us keen eye for fishing spots, a hireling to give us some fish and bait every couple of hours, skills to improve the number of fish you can catch with a single cast, the amount of time it takes before you get a bite, the chance to catch rare fish, the chance to get valuable/better drops out of wet gunny sacks, the ability to use any kind of bait in any kind of water, the ability to re-use bait...Maybe give us different kinds of fishing rods and maybe even more rewards for catching a certain amount of fish or unlocking achievements. As it stands, the only reason people fish is for perfect roe and (sometimes) the Master Angler achievement. Adding some depth/rewards to it would make it more appealing to people and make it more fun for the people who already invest lots of time into it. I mentioned maybe adding a mount as a reward for catching X number of rare fish or something in another thread. It was a goofy guar wearing a fish costume mount because I like shit like that but they could easily make it something less ridiculous like a mount made of water or something of the sort...Any other fishing fans out there wish the game had more to offer sometimes?

EDIT: some fishing-related costumes or polymorphs would be cool as well. Hell, I'd be happy if they added motifs to wet gunny sacks that would let me craft fishing rods. Even if they had no effect on fishing "stats", just having different looking rods would make me happier.

[Screenshots] I just started playing (I'm at lvl 22ish) and I'm in love. This is ALMOST everything I could have hoped for in an ES game...

Xbox NA Severe Lag Issues

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 10:39 PM PDT

Just a heads up that many people in my guild are getting severe lag spikes and getting kicked from the server. Would not recommend anyone hop into dungeons/trials/vMA right now. Save it till later in the morning!

That's a clip from vdsa last night, made everything way harder than it needed to be. Is this a me issue, or a server issue?

Kicked for talking?

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 10:33 PM PDT

Myself and many guild mates were just kicked for "excessive messaging" some of us were literally not even using chat. I have chat turned off. Now I can't even join the server.

Edit: ZOS is bad at making error message clear. Lag spikes are the problem. Nothing new carry on.

What dailies are worth doing?

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 10:13 PM PDT

I haven't had as much time to play this month and sometimes I'm just stuck doing dailies for a day. Which ones should I actually do? Or are all of them worth doing?

Premium Assistants

Is there any news about the premium assistants featured here? I know there are no differences beyond a cosmetic difference, but I much prefer these ones and am holding out to buy them. Thanks :)

Connection to the server has timed out

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 11:43 PM PDT

Yes I have restarted my steam and ESO launcher. I log off my computer everyday when I go to work. Everyday I come back, log in, and have problems. Usually I wont be able to auto login and have to login manually (Not really too upset about that). When I'm in game, I find myself lagging from internet and after a while of moving but not being able to interact with anything, I lose connection to the server. Also, I dont have a changing ISP and I dont have connection issues with other games.

I love ESO Morrowind's puzzles such as the Barilzar puzzle. Solution requires some thinking, but not too hard as to get you frustrated.

Rant time

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 12:43 PM PDT

Why tf do people think it's ok to que as healer/tank when they're not just to cut the line? Like seriously? You're inconveniencing everyone in your group. In addition, if it's not an easy dungeon you're wasting everyone's time as well because it's going to be more difficult, if not nearly impossible to beat without the proper team. ALSO- I thought it was general knowledge that tanks attack first? I feel like every other time I'm in a dungeon (when I'm not tanking) the person playing the tank takes zero initiative and lets the dps or even the healer(!) attack first because we get fed up waiting. I realize other people have posted similar threads like this addressing the same issues, and I apologize for making you read through it again. I'm just fed up, especially after today's experience of a level cp600+ player commiting both of these atrocities. Like you'd think he would know better at this point, right? Also, I would like your guys' feedback, in the future, is it rude to say anything to him in the chat, like, "Tanks should attack first" or, "Why did you que as a tank(or healer) if you're not?" I feel like this would pressure them into behaving correctly in the future, but I don't know if this would be considered bullying or improper etiquette. Anyways, sorry for the long post, I just needed to get that off my chest.

I'm torn, a tale of three classes

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 08:05 PM PDT

I used to main a magplar for a long time, but I'm bored of jabbing. I set out to find my new main but I'm having so much trouble deciding between stamsorc, stamdk, or stamden.

The main parts of there rotations is all the same, bow bar with dots and dual wield bar with 2 to 3 weapon abilities. It comes down to the slight variations in rotation, class style, and potential versatility.

With stamsorc I get a ton of survivability, great aoe, lightning themed attacks, and the option to switch to awesome magsorc dps.

With stamdk I get amazing single target dps, fire and poison themed attacks, and the option to switch to the best tank in game.

With stamden I get great self buffs and survivability, plant and animal (not mush ice as stamden) themed attacks, and the option to be second best healer or tank.

I think theme wise I lean towards dk, versatility wise I lean towards warden, rotation wise I'm between sorc and dk.

It's so tough to decide. I find myself playing one of the three for a few days, switching to another and replaying the same content again.

What ultimately pushed you over the edge for you main character? Maybe someone can inspire me to stop being a fence sitter.

[PC-NA] What's up with the constant lag spikes the past few days?

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 04:47 PM PDT

Been getting latency spikes up between 400-999+. Looking at the forums this seems to be becoming more wide spread.

Magicka Nightblade Build

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 01:36 AM PDT

Can can anyone knowledgeable about Magicka NB's help me with my build? The issue I'd like answered is how to increase my total DPS. I'm happy with everything else. Here's my build: 1. 5pc Julianos (Divines) 3 pc gold 2 purple. All purple max magicka glyphs (one lvl under gold). 2. 5pc Martial Knowledge (mixed traits I bought from guild stores) all purple. All clothing max magicka glyphs (one under gold) All jewelry has gold spell damage glyphs giving 174 spell dmg x 3 3. Julianos lightning staff - sharpened. Asborb magicka trait. Purple (front bar) 4. Necro rest staff, Scathing mage rest and generic sharpened dest staff I rotate on back bar depending on scenario 5. All the right passives to build up spell damage, crit, magicka etc as listed by Deltia 6. Skills - Amongst a mixture of Shadow, Assassinate, Siphoning slotted with Dest staff (blockade and eye of storm ultimate) I used inner light and entropy to buff my spell crit and damage from mage line.

My spell crit is 65% and unbuffed spell dmg is 2191. With entropy it goes to around 2650. But get this: My total magicka unbuffed is around 29k and goes to 33k with food. I heard your total DPS scales off your total magicka pool as well and my pool is not the best. Any comments? There are guys with magicka pools around 44k!

[CRAFTING] Crafted gear vs looted gear (same level)

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 07:00 PM PDT

One day while creating enchantments, I noticed that I had created an enchantment at a given level (I think it was lvl14) and I happened to have an identical enchantment at the same level that I had looted. Strangely, however, the looted enchantment had a significantly higher effect.

Two questions:

  • Is this expected?
  • Is there a way to increase the quality of my crafted items to be better than an equivalent-level "looted" one?

Thanks in advance.
