PCgamer - This mod for Diablo 2 steals the best ideas from Path of Exile and makes it feel new again

I feel like I'm playing PTR instead of live.

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 03:32 PM PDT

It's a long post. Please take your time to read it.

Let me preface by saying that Diablo 3 is a VERY fun game. I've thoroughly enjoyed all the hours I've put into this game and do not regret any of it.

However, this Necromancer DLC has been an absolute nightmare. The Blizzard team that was in charge of it hasn't posted any concrete information. Not even a simple address to help alleviate some of the tensions people are having about the game-breaking bugs present currently.

I was really looking forward to it, but with all these bugs after live launch are getting really frustrating. In fact, a lot of these bugs were already talked about and posted on Necromancer Beta Forums, but it seems the dev-team didn't bother reading them.

What irks me the most is the most recent bug with Demon Hunter's Marked for Death - Grim Reaper rune interaction with Necromancer's Frailty (execute skill).

A similar bug was around a few seasons ago with the 1-H Sword, Sever, which displayed a large number after killing a monster. 15% of that large number was then distributed in 20 yards and basically 1-shot everything.

The same is happening right now. Shouldn't you have already anticipated this bug? It's an execute skill..

EU has already done GR 127 exploiting this bug. It's way worse than Archon Wizard stacks from outside the rift. This bug 1-shots elites, AND rift guardians, no matter how high the GR.

/u/sVr90 explains the bug very well here.

Then you have Krysbin's Sentence ring. Obviously meant to be a "Necromancer only" ring, but as usual you have every class in the game able to use it.

Almost every top non-Necromancer clear is using Krysbin's Sentence because of it's sheer power.

This is something that was already documented during PTR days. How this made it to live, nobody knows.

There's other bugs, but it's useless to list them all.

This is a screenshot of Blizzard Diablo 3 developer Travis Day posting in popular Diablo 3 streamer, Bluddshed's Twitch chat about another bug in the game involving Command Skeletons dying in 22-24 hits regardless of their health/GR level, etc.

Unless you're watching the stream at that time, there's no way you could've known they had intentions of reverting it, etc. Why can't the dev-team update us through Blue Posts on official forums? Is that really too much to ask?

Interaction between the dev-team and the community is non-existent. Other games dev-teams have such a high presence with their community, especially on Reddit.

It would be nice to hear from you guys. Right now, it just seems like I'm playing PTR and everyday seems to be a new bug discovery.

Travis Day talks upcoming Necromancer changes - Diablo 3 Patch 2.6 Season 11

Friendly Reminder: If in doubt about buying the Necromancer DLC - try the Necro out in the current challenge rift for free!

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 04:24 PM PDT

Hi folks!

I instantly bought the DLC despite the criticism because I waited for the Necro since all classes for D3 had been revealed. And to be honest I was massively disappointed.

It's not that 15 bucks is too much. And yet I wish I hadn't bought the DLC because I think it will send the message to the devs that the sets are allright like this. And especially Rathmas isn't.

Thus my advice would be try out the Challenge Rift and watch some streams about it. Each alone isn't helping that much tbh.

The Challenge Rift is extremely easy to finish even with 2 minutes less without any prior knowledge imho because the char is so overgeared/the goal is so low. On the real game you need to at least have a minimum of 5 active Skeletal Mages - 10 should be the goal.

And that's my main gripe with teh Necro. I wanted a Summoner Class. Rathma's is the only Summoner set and it forces you to spam Skeletal Mage, like the Challenge Rift does. But in reality it feels even more spammy. And there is no way to circumvent this: You are forced to use Skeletal Mage because of the 6p bonus beeing tied to that skill.

If you don't like Skelatal Mages spammy nature you probably won't like the Summoner/Rathma'S Necromancer.

And right now before everyone has bought the DLC you can still vote with your wallet. Maybe Blizzard will listen and will change the skill to be a little less spammy or change the Rathma's bonus to not be tied to having 10 active Skeletal Mages.

TL;DR: The current Challenge Rift features a Rathma's "Summoner" Necromancer which shows the problem with the spammy nature of the Necromancer.

I like being able to be well geared without playing 9000 hours on a single character...

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 09:23 AM PDT

It allows playing multiple characters and actually progressing for people who do more than play D3.

Just wanted to say that as a counterpoint to tho the constant "too easy" complaints.

Another Fiery Runes Series comes to an end as the Rise of the Necromancer Pack has inspired me to update the runes further.

Less than 4 years ago the series became more "souly" began with Malthael and now ends with him as I move the runes further and break them down into their Essence...

Check out my deviantART & Twitter for more updates and thank you for enjoying this series as much as I have.

Necro summon is awesome, best nostalgia $15 spent

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 07:21 AM PDT

Hi,

Obligatory "played since vanilla" intro. Loved summon necro "back in the days", loved having a big army doing the work for me. Cursing shit, melting faces while eating a sandwich.

Oh boy, the new necro ...

Skeletons are responsive, command skels makes things dynamic. Would love some premanent mages but still fun. Rolling summon set with the bone shield 2-set. Even the appearance of both is a nostalgia trip.

Wouldn't play a necro in d2 now because of how boring it would be but still, I'm having a lot of fun playing summon necro right now and wanted to share.

From softcore to hardcore

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 03:36 PM PDT

Hi all, I've always been a seasonal softcore player but during these 4 weeks of no-season-available I wanted to try something more so I thought "why don't try hardcore? It's like a fresh new season because I've never tried it". But it's completely new to me so I would like to have some advice from you, maybe there is somebody more expert than me... What are the most important differences between the two ways of play d3? What are the most useful tips to start? What should I consider? Are there any impossible class to play hardcore or they are all viable? How is the way of playing and of thinking different?

Blizzard already has the UI for it. Why don't we get more than 12 stash tabs?

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 12:32 PM PDT

Got all the possible tabs for a while now, including the two new from Necro. Why doesn't Blizzard add the 3 more tabs to complete the third page of the stash tabs? At least it would give us a little more reason to keep playing for a little longer. I don't care about cosmetics, and it would make seasons more rewarding and worthwhile.

Edit: And by Blizzard I meant they already coded the interface in Diablo III.

Is it still possible to find wings/pets on PS4 after patch 2.6.0? If so, would some guides on how to acquire these items be possible to find?

Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, im just after a cool looking pet and pair of wings. It would be nice to hear what your thoughts are on the best looking wings/pets that i am able to obtain. Thanks

If you do public bounties and are unhappy about the pace then you are free to leave.

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 03:40 PM PDT

Nobody forces you to stay, players who have cleared the necessary greater rift level to join wherever you're at can join your game with non optimized gear and/or follow one of you guys around. I see way too much whining and trying to kick players who's just doing what they've earned the right to play.

Personally if I join one I know the risk of someone not playing as fast as me(shadows DH it's pretty fast) but I don't really care and I'm not going to be a dick about it unless they're clearly AFK.

I saw a thread here the other day where people actually think they have the right to kick someone after they've already started doing bounties just because it's a bit slow. That's honestly a bit fucked up.

Remember public games are there for everyone to enjoy the game the way they want to.
