The Destiny 2 Beta Emblem If you throw down with us in the Destiny 2 Beta, this Emblem will be waiting for you in September. This is our gesture of thanks for helping us get ready for launch. It will mark you as a volunteer member of the development team. They'll say "How can I get that?" You'll say "You had to be there." The Red Legion come knocking on July 21. If you want to kick out the unwelcome mat before then, pre-order to gain access a day or two early. This is your first dance with a new enemy. | Posted: 06 Jul 2017 03:56 AM PDT My old fireteam played since Beta. One's a streamer I never see anymore, the other lost interest in the grind. I'm nervous about LFG and matchmaking sites, so I've been going solo since Taken King. There's so much in this game I haven't done - but there's so much I have. I love Destiny, and with Destiny 2 only a few months away, and the probability of switching platforms, I couldn't leave without giving my Hunter (Jericho) the send-off he deserved. I'm missing a bunch of exotics, hundreds of armour sets, ghosts/SIVA/Fragments and crucible quests. Strike loot, Faction packages, and the occasional Iron Banner or Sparrow Racing League was all I had...but it was enough. I made it Guardians. Can't wait to keep playing. See you on the other side. Fast forward to now, I've been accepted into his clan, I've gone from raiding once a fortnight to nearly every day and from starting to get bored of destiny to enjoying it just as much as I enjoyed Year 1. If you haven't seen it, follow the link. Although it was hilarious and well done; I'd just like to write down my own version of what I think happened with the individual that harbored such a love-hate relationship from all of us. The heavy footfalls of a Cabal Legionnaire struck the cracked and mauled stonework, the flames and smoke of devastation glittering menacingly across the folds in his armor. In one hand, he lazily grasped a heavy battle rifle, and in the other, dragged an Awoken, struggling against the gauntleted hand. The Awoken's yellow and black robes were singed and smoldering, and although visibly bruised and shaken by the devastation, he was otherwise unharmed. After what felt like an eternity being drug across the very stone floor he so often casually walked, the Awoken was flung at the feet of another Cabal. After taking a few moments to compose himself, the Awoken stood and casually brushed bits of crumbled detritus from his clothing. "Mmmm, yes of course." He muttered, mostly to himself. "You are cabal...not unlike the Fallen house of Wolves; you've come now to claim...to claim what exactly? The traveler lies dormant...of course you would already know this, yet why sacrifice the-" "SILENCE." The Cabal boomed. Slowly, purposefully, the white-clad mass turned about and faced his quarry. "You speak to a Cabal emperor, Awoken" he boomed, the ripples and scars on his bare head undulating from agitation. "I am called Dominus Ghaul...scourge of the Galaxy, commander of the armies of the Red Legion, and reclaimer of that which was stolen from the Skyburners and our people. I am the harbinger of your inevitable destruction." Ghaul clasped his gold-guilded gauntlets behind his back, and strode nonchalantly to the edge of the tower overlook. Around him, bits of the guardian stronghold were crumpling in the midst of a terrible assault. He turned, just as another Cabal dropship streaked through the smoke-choked sky. "My records indicate you are a scholar of sorts among guardians?" "I am a Crypto-archeologist, if that is what you mean," the Awoken breathed, folding his arms in front of him defiantly. "I decode artifacts of the Golden Age for Guardians who may have use of them...and you Ghaul," his eyes glinting a yellow staccato "do not look like a guardian to me." Ghaul unclasped his hands from behind his back, and struck the Awoken with a backhanded blow. Staggering, the Cryptarch fell to his knees and shielded his face in preparation for another blow. However, none came. "Regardless of what I am " Ghaul growled, "I find myself in need of your services." With the wave of a hand, the Cabal emperor summoned a Psion from the vicinity of the now-blazing mail kiosk, it's sinewy arms producing a reflective golden glowing sphere. "This," he began, tossing the Engram in front of his captive, "is what I need you to...what is the word? Decrypt." Ghaul spat the words as if they tasted sour. With obviously pained effort, the Cryptarch brought himself to his feet once more, and took hold of the golden artifact. "You'll be happy to know" he said, through small trickles of blood on his lips, "that this is indeed a weapon." Ghaul's masked mouth seemed to curl at the cheeks. "Yes...hmm...it seems to be a hand cannon." The Cryptarch's hands skillfully manipulated the outer crystalline facets of the Engram, it's outer shell crumbling away like the environment surrounding them. Finally, after a few moments, the shape of a long-barreled revolver could be seen through the glass-like covering. "Ahh...congratulations Ghaul, it seems that you have found The Last Word." Ghaul, now visibly amused, presented an empty hand. "Give me the weapon, librarian." The Awoken looked up from his work, a confused look plain on his face. "Oh, you seem to have misunderstood me, Dominus. I did not mean THE Last Word...I meant MY Last Word." Suddenly, as if made of sand, the revolver crumbled into glimmer, sliding gently through the Cryptarch's fingers. Ghaul's outstretched hand tightened into a fist, his gauntlet crackling under the stress of anger. The Cryptarch however, remained unmolested. "Cayde taught me this once...although admittedly I always thought such trivial things to be vulgar...but this seems like an appropriate time." The Cryptarch looked at the towering Cabal, his eyes now yellow molten defiance. The hand that was grasping the revolver now empty, curled into a fist, save one finger in particular: the middle. "And for the histories, Cabal...my name is not 'librarian'. It is Rahool." [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 06 Jul 2017 06:04 AM PDT I wasn't able to complete any of the Commemoration page, I never did the TTK Raid, never went into trials, my collections page is abysmal, I mained as a Titan so my other two characters were non-existent and my Allegiances were low. When AoT came out, I spent time building up my Warlock and Hunter. Eventually I started to see it was a possibility and focused solely on the AoT nodes much to my wife's chagrin at my late nights and tired days, she eventually began to accept my new hobby (Destiny is my first console game) since she saw how excited I got about it and how it gave me fulfillment. I'm a 37 year old with two kids and a full time job so time was limited but I did it! I achieved my goal! Much to the credit of the information found on this sub and a buddy of mine and brother in law who are Y1 players. I remember when I first started playing and joined this sub I would literally get pissed off because I felt like you all were speaking a different language with the modifiers, tiers, god rolls, all the acronyms..oh god..the acronyms. I didn't understand anything but eventually it all made sense and here I am finished Iron Book, completed AoT, eagerly awaiting my shirt and D2! Thanks everyone! [link] [comments]  |
| Make Master Rahool a yellow-bar Lost Sector Boss Posted: 06 Jul 2017 10:12 AM PDT Since we now know that Tyra Karn is the Farm's Cryptarch and Master Rahool's fate is yet to be confirmed, it would be an awesome homage to D1 if at some point Bungie made one of the new Lost Sector's bosses be a Corrupted Master Rahool. The lore behind it could tie all the way back to the original Loot Cave where he gained an immense amount of power from the millions of Hive killed but it corrupted him, similar to how the Weapons of Sorrow corrupt. Bonus points if the Lost Sector is an actual Cave with Hive bones everywhere and defeating him rewards you with an exotic engram that decrypts to a purple. The civilians and the soldiers, the people who survived the fall of the city and what they do afterwards. I saw that the farm has armed civilians manning the front gates, and it got me thinking about how just ading in non guardian npc's can change the feel of the game. Destiny 1 always felt a little odd, like your fighting for a group of pepole that your not quite sure actually exists. But with the visible reminder of what your supposed to fighting for it will add a certain something that was missing. I cant wait to see what will happen. [link] [comments]  |
| Let's Talk about the D2 Nessus Map in the Vision for D2 Video Posted: 06 Jul 2017 01:30 PM PDT From taking three screen shots and compiling them into one image I can see 7 unique icons on the map. Of those 7 we know what Campaign Missions, Lost Sectors, Treasure Maps, and Public Events look like.

Speculation:
If Nessus is indicative of all the locations we could be looking at much more content in the launch of D2 then we had with the launch of D1 (like 5 or 10 times more). This is the best news I've heard about Destiny 2 so far. I'm excited to check out all these Lost Sectors, Treasure Maps, and Adventures!

| My abysmal god roll finnalas peril.... Posted: 06 Jul 2017 06:40 AM PDT I'm a little puzzled and was hoping others might have experience or a view on this. I'm a fairly average (1.3kd) player and usually has good success using a rifled Luna or a rf+rifled pally. I recently got a finnalas peril package drop with rangefinder and rifled and expected a palindrome with better handling. Instead (after hours of play) I'm still whiffing shots that I'd no trouble hitting with the other hcs. Has anyone else experienced this? I'd be amazed if 1 point of range cap is the reason, and was certain i was just me, but I can't help but wonder if hitting 62 is the magic switch. Cheers. [link] [comments]  |
