| Well, Thanks to the Grand finale, I need to learn to play VS terrorblade. What's the game plan? Posted: 01 May 2017 09:07 AM PDT Pick rate is through the roof, I played against him a handful of times over more games than I care to own up to. [link] [comments] |

| I Have some questions about OD... Posted: 01 May 2017 12:55 PM PDT 1.What is the optimal skill build right now? I have seen pros go for aura max into Q max with one point early in w, as well as w max into e max into Q max.

| Why do pro Monkey Kings shapeshift randomly? Posted: 01 May 2017 04:28 AM PDT So, I was watching Kiev Major and monkey king was picked more then I thought, rip predictions. But, while he was picked, I saw the players just randomly shape shifted for no reason rather then doing something like farm or gank. Why do they do this? [link] [comments] |
| How do you fix a team that's trashtalking one another Posted: 01 May 2017 02:29 PM PDT hello i've been having a lot of lose because of this kind of teammates, there are times when they'll just talk shit about each other because this one guy made a mistake then eventually the guy that talk shit about the guy who made a mistake also made a mistake then it will proceed to them fighting each other all game instead of helping each other, btw i mostly play support and the server i play is SEA (i think everyone knows how cancerous this server is) anyway, any ideas on how to fix a team like that? i already tried the "We're supposed to help each other not fight each other" and "You guys do realize that if you keep fighting and not work together we will lose right, and we'll eventually lose" some guys just reply "I don't care i can gain mmr easily" [link] [comments] |
| Play support to escape <1k bracket? Posted: 01 May 2017 10:35 AM PDT Just started a few months back, capable of carrying from time to time, but not enough to drastically make a difference I HATE support except on occasion. But reality is no1 plays support in this bracket. Never vision, never dewarding, no emphasis on it. Is my logic of me playing support to escape this bracket then being able to play Position 2/3 in 1k sound? [link] [comments] |
| How does leveling your profile work? How many battle points equals 100 trophy points? Posted: 01 May 2017 02:03 PM PDT I've been wondering about this for a long time now, I searched the wiki and came up with nothing. Could someone explain this to me? [link] [comments] |
| How to become a better support in ranked? 4.6K Posted: 01 May 2017 08:10 AM PDT I've been off the solo ranked recently but I got back into it. My average mmr in the games are 4.6-4.8k and my weakest role is support. I usually play mid / safelane and I excel in those but due to respect of mmr I usually have to give it up and play a jungle or a roamer. Any tips I could work on my supporting? I have trouble with when to gank and my rotations are slow so I've been told. [link] [comments] |
| Why is everybody and their mother plays Juggernaut these days? Posted: 01 May 2017 10:27 AM PDT So why is he being picked like in every single game? I understand he is an easy to play hero, but against Anti-Mage? I have NEVER seen a Jugg that outfights AM and if he does win, that is because there are other heroes in the team that counters AM? So what is up with the trend where people pick Jugg and give no shit about the enemy roster anyway? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 01 May 2017 07:37 AM PDT Here's a game where I went vanguard first on anti-mage: https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3147708750 I know it is sort of a "reserved for terribly bad game starts" but, in my MMR where the lanes are a huge mess basically every game, terrible starts are the norm. I often will get a support that auto attacks the lane creeps or aggros the creeps naively without realizing how much they are pushing the lane with it. I even had one shadow shaman who blocked the strong camp twice in one game. A jungler cleared it out as well, so I couldn't do the pulling with it myself. Other than that, I might not even have a support in the lane with me. In the game linked, I was in the safe lane with viper against bloodseeker and PA. This is not exclusive to my anti-mage games, either. The lanes are rough. However, with anti-mage, I have realized from some bad games that you don't skip battlefury even if you're getting it late. It's just too good on him.
My thoughts I think it is known that the biggest problem at my low MMR is that everyone wants to fight all the time. Vanguard lets you sustain extremely well in lane, and lets you persist through even ridiculous fighting. In the game I linked above, our phoenix abandoned after dying 4 times (he randomed him so I guess he didn't want to play any more). The bloodseeker also left the game after he failed to kill me with rupture + blood rite + another hero hitting me (I TP'd home even though I reacted late since the vanguard made me too tanky). I've even built this item on huskar, drow ranger, and sven to great effect. I am certain it is not optimal since I don't see this commonly (or even at all) in high level matches, but it works so well in my scrub MMR. Heck, I'd say I'm sometimes even almost forced into such a build because the lanes are just such a mess that being able to stay in lane and not die with a vanguard is better than any alternative. Am I just being a noob or would this count as adapting my item build? I don't want to just rush vanguard, but if the enemies are pushing the lane and spamming spells at me while I'm under tower trying to last hit - without any incoming ganks from my team - is it wrong to rush a ring of health and then upgrade it to vanguard? To make it clear, I don't spend money until I can afford ring of health. If the lane is fine (I still have regen items left), I buy regular stuff (anti-mage I buy ring of health anyway because it is needed for battlefury). If it's going bad, I buy a ring of health. Then, if that isn't enough, I will eventually upgrade it to a vanguard. For someone like sven, I already have the stout shield and ring of health so it sort of just fits. I'd just rather get to mask of madness and blink sooner, but getting vanguard fast at least lets me go kill ancient camps and last hit in lane without dying.
TL;DR This turned out to be rather long-winded, so here's a TL;DR. In my low MMR, lanes suck. There might never be any ganks despite being forced to last hit under my tower while the enemies spam their spells at me (PA + lion for example) for 6 minutes straight. I may also even be laning with another carry fighting for last hits. Is rushing a vanguard in this situation so that I can jungle and / or stay in lane indefinitely a good idea? Just note that this means I will build vanguard first in probably over half my games just due to how lanes go at this MMR.
EDIT Important note!!! I just realized it is only the safe lane that this is a problem. A lot of off-laners will have regen items in their build, anyway, and comparing my games to pro games, I will sometimes have a buddy with me, and enemies will basically never tri-lane. Off lane is easier than ever. In mid lane, I find the 1v1 with low amounts of ganks pretty easy. A bottle to sustain is usually more than enough. [link] [comments] |
| Why does Beastmaster counter AA so hard? Posted: 01 May 2017 12:19 AM PDT According to dotabuff beastmaster has a +15% advantage against AA. Why? [link] [comments] |
| Can someone explain to me why manta on Naga isn't redundant? Posted: 01 May 2017 01:12 PM PDT I have a friend who thinks that manta on Naga is redundant. I say DPS, Farm, Stats, Survivability, a purge, move speed, but he doesn't seem convinced. Can anyone add on to this? [link] [comments] |
| Learning to play Tinker. Need help. 2.5k MMR Posted: 01 May 2017 12:54 PM PDT So after watching and reading a bunch of guides i started playing tinker and for some reason i cant win at all with him despite getting my timings for boots of travel and other items. I know the basics of playing tinker like using laser in the lane so the enemy misses last hits and etc. For some reason i don't win. I have 32 games with tinker and a 37% win rate. I see people stomping with tinker and i haven't had that despite having a positive score and a decent amount of last hits. Example game: https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3151835484 All advice and criticism is accepted. [link] [comments] |
| When would you pick core (mid) kunnka? Posted: 01 May 2017 06:51 AM PDT Are there any situations where its really good, and is the daedlus stacking build still viable, or too slow for 7.00? [link] [comments] |
| How to pick when my team first pick a melee weak laning carry? Posted: 01 May 2017 12:28 PM PDT Such as first picking spe/am, the enemy then pick axe/timber/broom. What support should I pick? Do I have to ask my team trilane in safelane? Even aggro-dragging to last hit is still pretty hard since my carry is too weak and need consistantly ship regen items. [link] [comments] |

| How do I play Invoker and Clockwerk??? Posted: 01 May 2017 10:37 AM PDT Hey there guys. 3k scrub here and yes, I really want to know some basic tips and some pointers from Invoker and Clockwerk players here. I played those two recently and I felt like I wasn't doing that good to be honest at Invoker, and super awful at clock. This is my recent clockwerk game : https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3147124736 and these are my recent two invoker games: 3146907630 and 3147550570. Hope there's someone who can waste time and give some comments. <3 Thank you! [link] [comments] |
| Climbing to 2k should I just stick with a set of heroes? Posted: 01 May 2017 01:34 AM PDT my dotabuff: https://www.dotabuff.com/players/162658927 I think I'm pretty versatile when it comes to heroes but I read somewhere that you should just stick to a set of heroes when you're playing ranked, so hence the question should I pick a set of heroes I know I can stomp with or just do whatever I'm doing now picking heroes based on the picks of the opposing team? | Posted: 01 May 2017 08:57 AM PDT Hi guys, I will try to make this as short as I can..my mmr peaked at 5500 back in 2015 then I sorta quit playing but I got back few months ago and I want to go pro, I know 5k ain't a thing now but twas when I hit it when there were barely 7ks. I remember Solitude was around 6200 when we played together now he's 8k+. anyway mmr isn't something when it comes to pros...I want to know how to play like a professionals...I am sure they all studied the game for hours and hours, I can give over 15 hours of my day just studying dota and practicing stuff, I let my GF go for that and even failed school back then so I have the commitment, I just don't know the path yet what to take where to find the knowledge and stuff...I am willing to nerd the game and practice the little things over and over and oveeeer..but what to practice and how like the pros practiced, I am sure most of them wouldn't give away what they worked hard for but people like ChaQ made a guide (it was useful) but that's not it all, I learned that back in 2014 and there are many factors but what are they? Edit as some do misunderstand me...I am asking how to learn to play like pros not how to go professional...what to practice what to study. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 01 May 2017 02:26 AM PDT I mostly lose when Axe is picked by enemy. He's just too op, too tanky, high damage helix, a skill that slows damages and boosting his speed and insta death when belox 250 health. He keeps blinking on me or someone in our team then call blademail or sometimes force staff himself to enemy team while you and your teammates is following him. I know wards can be a solution to ganks but im still in 2k and no one picks support mostly (my sister loves playing dazzle so there's a chance to win because she always wards). [link] [comments] |
