| Posted: 08 Feb 2017 06:49 PM PST It was announced not too long ago that 2GG Midwest Mayhem would use the MM ruleset. One of the notable rules at MM is that Miis are free. When 2GG copied this ruleset, apparently they didn't check. If you check right now on Smash.gg, Free Miis are still included in the ruleset. We figured they were including this unique rule. Us Mii mains were ecstatic. It's been in the ruleset for weeks now. Even if it was a goof, there's no way they would change it so close to the event that's this weekend.
We were wrong. To quote a someone that knows Champ, "Champ just messaged me. Turns out they are only adopting the "Stage Ruleset" of Midwest...."
Regardless of your stance on Miis, you have to admit this is pretty fucked up. This isn't something that "we should expect because of how Miis are treated." We shouldn't expect "changes" to the ruleset 3 days before. This isn't okay. I really hope this post gains traction, so hopefully 2GG will reconsider. Especially since, as of this post, the ruleset still says that Miis are allowed any moveset at guest size. [link] [comments]  | ||

Next I'm thinking about a Ganondorf Smoked Stout, a Peach Blonde brewed with... you guessed it, peaches, and a Sheik Summer Shandy with grapefruit-heavy notes. I'm a Falco main and also the creative lead on the Smash Summit Spring 2017. We're making a bunch of changes to the format and fun challenges as well as introducing some new exciting stretch goals and merch this time, so we thought it'd be nice to answer any questions you have about it before we launch the compendium on Friday (1pm PST). Grace (who has worked as a project manager / smash mom on all the Summits so far) will also be here to answer questions like which player can't eat spicy food and who she's yelled at the most. | If the 2GGT Series was a circuit Posted: 08 Feb 2017 02:36 PM PST Hey everyone. You've all most likely seen how 2GGaming is running a Smash 4 circuit this year called the 2GG Championship Series or 2GGC. Well I decided to see what would have happened had the 2GGT series been a circuit, just like the 2GGC series. Using the rules from the official 2GGC smash.gg page, I gave points to the top 16 from each 2GGT Saga. The winners of each Saga would automatically qualify for the championship at the end of the year, and the rest of the 20 qualification spots would go to those with the most points. The points would also be used for seeding. Also, according to the website, the final 3 2GGC Sagas would be "season finale" Sagas where the points are doubled. Since in the 2GGT series, there was only a Saga in December and not in October or November, I only gave double points to the top 16 of ZeRo Saga and not KTAR Saga or Abadango Saga. After calculating the points, here are the 20 players who would qualify for the 2GGT Championship (those with an asterisk next to their name won a Saga and would automatically qualify):

The event will take place on Feb 11th at eSports Arena in Santa Ana, CA and its a collaboration with Events2Compete, eSports Arena, and 2GG! Here's are some of the headlines: $2,000 Pot Bonus Thanks to eSports Arena, they will be providing $2,000 to the singles prize pool! 2nd qualifying spot of 2GGC The winner of this saga will be the second person to qualify into the 2GG Championship in December! Unless of course ZeRo wins which means the spot will then be remove and an additional spot via point qualification will be added! Speaking of ZeRo... ZeRo meet and greet On Feb 10th at eSports Arena, ZeRo will be doing a meet and greet with everyone from 5-8 PM PST. So come get your games in or get things sign by ZeRo himself. Midwest Invasion The Midwest smashers are coming in full force! Zinoto, Tyroy, Ryuga, Ned, DarkShad, MJG, Mister Eric, NiTe, Dan, Seth, Demitus, Colinies, Shel, Slowjoe, and much more are coming! | Worst Possible Match-Up to Ever Exist? Posted: 08 Feb 2017 06:16 AM PST For me, it's a toss between 1.0.0 Sheik vs 1.0.0 Ganondorf, or 1.1.4 Bayonetta vs. 1.1.4 Ganondorf. 1.0.0 Sheik is obvious. In 1.1.4, Ganondorf could not cancel Bullet Climax with Wizards Foot, Witch Time could be spammed and her ABK dive kick made mince meat out of him. Not saying these are still not -2 or -3 for that matter, but they could have possibly been considered "unwinnable" during their time. Any worse or equally bad you can come up with? | A serious question from a Bayo main. Posted: 08 Feb 2017 01:07 PM PST Hi guys, I've got a serious question for you guys. I just want honest opinions. I know there has been a significant amount of talk recently about Bayonetta's stance (or control, in some ways) over the meta. Recently, talented players have been doing better and better with her, figuring out even more techniques and punishes. Hell, even some top players have picked her up as a secondary or are at least showing that they too can use her successfully to some degree. When this Bayo's trailer was released, I was more pumped than ever before. I honestly wasn't a big fan of her prior to Smash, but I really fell in love with her play style. I, ever since the release of Smash 4 (since this game was my first Smash game I've played), enjoyed playing characters that had some sort of combo game. I don't mean they had to have some sort of guaranteed combo, but I enjoyed learning characters that had strings, or a least a couple different moves that lead into others. The fact that we were getting a character who's entire concept was combos and multi-hit moves was awesome. I mained Robin before Bayonetta (I know Robin is leagues away from Bayo, but I enjoyed things like arcthunder into arcfire into fair/up-smash or downthrow into arcthunder into nosferatu). I also lean a little towards female characters for some reason. Anyways, I love this game and I love playing this game and learning competitively. But, I do not enjoy how much negativity this character brings. I do agree that she is the best in the game, and if not definitely one of the best. I know her Witch Time is a pretty broken game changer. I know she's got an amazing recovery and a combo game that is better than tons of other characters combined. I completely understand why some people do not like playing against her. And that's just it. I understand where many people are coming from. And I don't want to be the person who no one wants to play friendlies with or compete with in bracket because they play "the broken character", even though I generally have fun playing with her. Do you think I should drop her, and pick up my old main? And when you go up against a Bayonetta player whether it be friendlies or in bracket, do you have preconceived notions of whether or not you will enjoy the set(s)? I tried replacing all the old character files with the new character's file by renaming the new ones to what the old one were named. Apparently that is not how its done so I'm looking for assistance.
