Spawned in a random world, spawned underwater next to an island. Near the island was a village in the middle of the ocean. Re-created the world with same seed, village was absent in re-created world. Didn't edit anything with the original and recreated world. Seed: -5059939230014069130 for 1.11.2

I got a bit too over-emotional over this game's OST. Anyone else have those moments?

Posted: 07 Feb 2017 09:53 AM PST

I don't want to make an age long post about this, since I don't want anyone to think of me as a pussy who cries over music.

I've been playing this game non-stop since 2009 to early 2014. I started playing again with a friend of mine. I listened to the music, and I got a wave of flashbacks. God, the fucking memories. It all came flooding back. The days of playing this game by myself on my Dad's PC (which now belongs to me), playing on the same servers every day with friends that I don't even know of today, playing Hunger Games with random people. God, I remember it all. Fucking amazing.

I won't lie that I shed a few tears.

Anyone else get a bit too emotional when listening to the OST, not only because of nostalgia?

A mod for all you adventurers out there

Posted: 07 Feb 2017 07:53 PM PST

Hello players, I came across this mod today and wanted to share with everyone what it was like and my experiences with it.

The mod itself basically adds 400+ new biomes to minecraft, and also changes some other things like ore-generation and mob spawning. The best part is that everything you see is almost always new, as each biome you encounter is randomly generated, just like minecraft! Because of how many biomes there are I feel like there is probably a biome for everyone if you like picking your favorite biome.

From my experience, the mod has improved my liking of the game as it adds a whole new world to explore. I probably spent about an hour just walking and running around looking at the scenery. Not that I like minecraft because of the way it looks, I just like seeing new things. That is my favorite part about adventuring in minecraft.

The mod is called "Terrain Control Mod: Biome Bundle" if you'd like to search it up. Sorry, I couldn't post a link, I think.

I really liked this mod and thought that a lot of people would enjoy it as much as I did, so I decided to share it here :)

Why does building in a lower subchunk increase spawns?

Posted: 07 Feb 2017 12:23 PM PST

I've seen in various /u/ilmango videos that building hostile and passive farms as close to Y=0 as possible will increase the spawn rate of the farm.

Can anyone tell me why, or point me towards a video or wiki page that explains this in more detail?
