I finally beat the Halo 2 campaign for the first time 2 days ago. Holy hell that was just as good as Halo 3. Posted: 19 Feb 2017 09:17 PM PST My friend and I both have MCC, so we decided to co-op the campaigns about a month ago. I'd only ever beaten the Halo 3 through 5 campaigns (Halo 3 was the first Halo game I owned), and damn I had no idea that I had a diamond in the rough (Halo 2) just waiting to be played since I bought the Xbone and MCC back in August. We first beat Halo:CE (again, for my first time), and while we definitely had fun, Halo 2 blew away my expectations. The remastered version is incredible. Great graphics, engaging cutscenes, and incredible music. It was obvious from the first mission that it wasn't going to be anything like Halo:CE. It's much more similar to Halo 3, and I loved Halo 3. I spent the entire summer of 2008 on that game. I feel like I just got to play a completely different version of Halo 3. Now I know why people raved over it so much. Imo, Halo 2 is just as good if not better than 3. There wasn't a mission I didn't enjoy. I know, this is a shit post, but holy damn I have been playing Halo for 10 years, and I only just now beat the Halo:CE and Halo 2 campaigns, yet Halo 2 is easily in the top 2 of campaigns in the Halo series. To anyone who hasn't played those games: You're doing yourself a major disservice. Halo 2 especially feels like the true Halo game. No Spartan IV's or Prometheans. When you are sitting in a loading screen for mythic, and you jam just the right combination of buttons, you end up with a classic pack to open once the game finishes.
