Quick question, do Civ6 mods work in multiplayer? Please do not upvote
Posted: 23 Dec 2016 04:04 AM PST
I am going to be starting a game with a friend later today and want to use https://forums.civfanatics.com/resources/detailed-worlds.25668/
Is there anything special we have to do to use it in multiplayer?

Quick question: Is civ 5 still worth it?
Posted: 23 Dec 2016 06:38 AM PST
I cant afford civ 6 right now. (Wish I could get Civ 6 though!)
But the Civ 5 game is now on sale along with all the dlc.
I have never played these kinds of games to be honest.
So my question is, should I buy Civ 5? Or save up more to buy Civ 6 next year/sale?
Thanks

Am I the only one who thinks that some of the agendas don't make any sense?
Posted: 23 Dec 2016 09:03 AM PST
I really don't see what it is that some of these agendas are trying to bring to the game. Most of them are just annoying and make it impossible to establish embassies or even send delegations to other civilizations. For example in one game I had two cities when I met Harald Hardrada. I hadn't obviously build any navy as I was busy building more important things. Well couple of turns after this guy denounces me because "Your navy is weak". I think this is incredibly stupid. Also Pedro's and Qin Shi Huang's agendas basically mean that they hate you because you are trying to win the game. Most of the time later in the game everyone just hates each other and there are no relationships between different civilizations.

How I go for a domination victory.

Build 3 horsemen.
Get Heavy Chariots, build 4 of them.
Get a Seige Tower and a Battering Ram.
Get Stirrups and upgrade all of the Heavy Chariots to Knights. Ready the ranged units. GOGOGO
Try to kill as many units with the Horsemen as you can to get them the XP. Try and Beeline the Escort Formation promotion. (AI doesn't focus on Terracotta Army, so that's great. Also, Kabul is great) Now anyone escorted by your Horsemen inherits the Horsemen's movement points. Link the Battering Ram and the Siege tower to the Horsemen.
Keep the Horsemen and the siege engines alive at all costs.
Now conquer till your units get obsolete and rest.
Rush to Nationalism and start building Corps of Heavy Cav and Light Cav. Rush mobilisation and combine your corps with the already promoted single units to make a highly mobile and experienced Light Cav and Heavy Cav armies. You can support them with bombard units and Mechanised Infantry (to deal with the AT crews), but they're too slow for my liking.
For me (on Deity) 4 Modern Armour Armies, 3 Cav/Helicopter Armies (escorting a Siege Tower, a Battering Ram and a Medic) is enough most of the time.
P.S. Do not let the siege engines die. After a certain point, they go obsolete and you can't build them anymore.
Only capture the Capital of the Civ and pillage literally everything else if you want low warmonger penalties and some immediate benefits. Pillaging will cripple their empire (AI is too dumb to repair properly). They won't be a threat anymore.
Aircraft Carriers are also very mobile and with bombers can wreak havoc.
There might be serious flaws in the strategy because I've done dom victory only 3 times now. Please correct me in the comment or suggest something to bolster my invasion force.

Please do not upvote. Why do so many people in the sub put that in front of their post??

The vote system is the whole point of Reddit. If your question/shitpost/discussion topic is agreed upon or common among many people on this sub, it will get upvoted regardless. And this is the only sub I still see this tag on.

Hey guys, quick question...can PC players play Civ 6 multiplayer with Mac players? I've read conflicting things.
Also, does buying the game on Steam give you access to both versions or just one or the other?

The Viking Scenario Pack is doing extraordinarily badly in the court of public opinion. I've never been interested in Civ's scenarios. Are you?

Steam Sale: Time to Strike?
Posted: 23 Dec 2016 05:55 AM PST
I was considering picking up the Deluxe Edition at the steam sale this time around to get out in front of the DLC and to finally sink my teeth into the game. I see a lot of concerns about AI and some minor bugs - but I hear the latest patch fixed a lot?

Hello everyone, I've never owned a Civ game.

Since the Steam Winter Sale, one of my friends got Civ 6 and hasn't stopped playing it, so I was curious, should I get Civ 5 or 6? Thanks in advance for any responses.

Just got a 150 dollar value for a quarter of 50 dollars. Pick it up at this price - it's worth it.

AI religion is ridiculous
Posted: 23 Dec 2016 01:03 AM PST
CIV 6. It is maddening. At the very least change the AI so they don't all horde the player city at the same time. I don't even understand how multiple Civs can get 15 apostles out at the same time when I can barely afford one. I mean they have to be earning like 500 religion per turn to have that many out so early in the game. Even if they made them all in different cities then how the hell do they all get bunched up at once? I'm pretty sure the AI is just spawning them, not actually "earning" them because there is no fucking way they have that much religion while at the same time having a fully formed religion, multiple citys with districts and a huge army.
Anyway, it wouldn't even be so bad if they were just OP but instead the entire screen gets littered with them, it sucks.

When you levy a Civ VI city state's military, can you also use the settlers they captured?
Posted: 23 Dec 2016 09:07 AM PST
I'm playing as India, I noticed Stockholm captured a Russian settler. I'm Stockholm's suzerain, so what would happen if I tried to levy Stockholm's troops? Could I control that settler? And what happens if I use it to build a city? Would it belong to me, or to Stockholm?
