Would Ethereal Blade be viable on Jakiro?

 

My usual Jakiro build goes Magic Wand, Arcane Boots, Eul's Scepter of Divinity and then Blink Dagger. I usually struggle to pick the next item pickup and Ethereal Blade seems like it would be really useful, 80% slow and 40% extra magic damage for someone in a Macropyre seems like a guaranteed kill on a minute cooldown .

But obviously 5 grand is a lot to drop when so many other cheaper or better int items are viable - Rod of Atos, Aghanim's Scepter, Veil of Discord, Mekansm, Pipe of Insight, Shiva's Guard, Scythe of Vyse,.... Would it be worth it?

Way too much money for the limited worth you'd get out of it. It's still easy to move out of  Macropyre, they could get Black King Bar or Force Staff to safety,...

Ethereal Blade is better for heroes that are capable of using it to instantly nuke a hero to nothing like Tinker, Morphling, Lina, Skywrath Mage,...

You'd also want to stack a shit ton of INT for the initial nuke (Ethereal Blade will use your primary stat for the nuke, but you'll still get +30 -ish AGI from buying Eaglesong, a stat this is nearly worthless to you since AS means little to Jakiro and there are easier sources of armor to buy).

For what you want, I'd look into things like:

• Veil of Discord
• Aghanim's Scepter's
• Shiva's Guard

Otherwise, stick with staples like:

• Heaven's Halberd
• Scythe of Vyse
• Force Staff
• Ghost Scepter (if needed to not die to physical damage)
• Necronomicon
• Gem of True Sight (for dewarding, map control)

Even Boots of Travel can be good on a farmed Jakiro because he's a decent split pusher.

Jakiro unlike most nuker's and stunner all of his abilities hit an area and not just a single target, and you also won't be able to auto attack the enemy while they're affected. Also, your paying a ton of gold for a useless stat (agi) on Jakiro. In addition, it only lasts 3s which is not even half a  Macropyre. A maxed Macropyre with Aghanim's Scepter deals 68 bonus DPS to Ethereal units, which is less than your usual auto attack. But what about the nuke from Ethereal Blade? Well it won't be strong since the nuke is based on your primary int stat, and you likely have no int items since you decided to get Ethereal Blade, leaving your Ethereal Blade nuke fairly weak. You want big slows like Rod of Atos and Shiva's Guard.
