AVAILABLE TO COMPENDIUM OWNERS
Not long after Steam Summer Sale has ended, a main client update was applied into Dota 2's main client which saw several Compendium rewards be delivered.
SQUAWKINS STYLES
The first one is the release of styles that can be applied on Lieutenant Squawkins, this year's The International courier. For those of you whose Compendiums have reached Level 4, you’re probably already familiar with the charming, blue-feathered Lieutenant Squawkins. Now Compendium owners who reach Level 24 will also gain access to a green-feathered Row Boat style. . The new styles come in the form of 'upgrade items' this year, playing a similar function to the smeevil treats and baits of last year. Additionally, when your Compendium reaches Level 41, you'll be able to use the luxury red-feathered Sail Boat version of the courier.
MINI-PUDGE COURIER
Legendary-rarity Pudge courier named Pudgling, which will be given all Compendium owner. If your Compendium reaches Level 50 then you'll also get his extra smelly alternate style. This upgraded version will also come with a classy golden hook. This is the reward for reaching stretch goal # 9.
CHAT EMOTICONS
Everyone who has a Compendium will get a set of 25 Dota-themed emoticon, which can be used both in-game and on dashboard chat rooms. This is distributed in the form of non-tradable packs.
Mere words cannot convey the true depth and breadth of your emotional response to the game of Dota. For that you need Dota-themed chat emoticons! And you need them to animate! These new emoticons work in-game and also in the dashboard chat rooms. Owning the Compendium gives you access to all 25 emoticons forever.
WEATHER EFFECTS
If you have a Compendium, then you'll immediately get all three of the in-game Weather Effects: Snow, Moonlight, and Rain. As the name implies, it changes the weather of the game's environment.
INTRODUCING LIVE REWIND
WHAT IS LIVE REWIND?
The final addition is an interesting upgrade to the DotaTV client. A 'live rewind' function is added, and it will supposedly let users jump back into a certain point from a live game. This would be useful when you miss a team fight, or simply just want to watch a specific scene again while watching it live. It can possibly do something like the 'instant replay' that the other streamers are offering.
