r/Rainbow6 Discussion Series - The Operators: Lesion | (26.Feb.18)

Overview

Welcome to r/Rainbow6 Discussion Series: The Operators! This series has been re-created to facilitate the gameplay, metagame, and strategy discussion that often gets buried or lost in the abundance of others posts.

The goal of this series is to not only give new players a primer on an operator, but also for mid level or competitive players a chance to share the knowledge that they have accrued in their experiences and maybe let people know something that they did not know before.

About: Lesion

Lesion was released in Operation Blood Orchid, the third Operation of Year 2. He was released alongside Ela, Ying, and the map Theme Park

The community has outlined a couple of things that they want to converse about with every operator, but feel free to branch out should you feel a piece of information warrants its own discussion.

  • The operator's primary or ideal role in the team.
  • The operator's gadget and how it will help the team achieve its goals. Please share any tidbits you may know to help expand discussion.
  • The operator's loadout, and how best to optimize it. This includes primaries, secondaries, and secondary gadgets.
  • What maps and game modes does this operator do well on?
  • What maps and game modes does this operator struggle with?
  • What teammates synergize well with this operator?
  • What opposing operators check or counter this operator?
  • What strategies have you adopted while playing this operator? What is something that a new player should know when playing this operator, or what is something you know that would help a veteran player take that next step?
  • What is your overall opinion of this operator? Where would you rank them among the other operators?

Bot flair reminder test is now live for /r/Rainbow6

Posted: 27 Feb 2018 01:30 PM PST

Hey /r/Rainbow6,

As noted in the rules rewrite post, flairing posts will now be mandatory on /r/Rainbow6; the goal with this is to supplement it with more subreddit flair filters and allow you guys to filter content more consistently. Enforcement of this will be handled by this bot.

After a post is live for 5 minutes [exact time subject to change] without being flaired, this bot will message you with a private message that looks similar to this

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/230767146005823488/418127765246574612/unknown.png

The notice will tell you how long that you have until the post is removed. Replying to the private message with the desired flair will set the flair for the post (for example discussion will set the post's flair to Discussion). The bot will notify you of this change and you will not have to worry about your post getting removed. Similarly, if you go and flair it yourself before the end of the count down, the bot will also not remove the post.

If you have any questions, concerns, or find a bug, PLEASE let us know in the comments below, thanks!

Anyone Else Desperately Want More 3 Armor Operators?

Posted: 27 Feb 2018 08:54 AM PST

I find myself effectively forced into certain picks in this game because there's just something about being a heavily clad juggernaut. The number of engagements I've survived with a couple health, lent to me through my 20% damage reduction, is past counting.

I tend to main Fuze because I love the AK12, and he comes with a great gadget in addition to 3 armor. Other attackers with 3 armor boils down to Blitz and Montague, and Recruit if that counts (not really). I don't particularly want to use a shield.

It seems the 2/2 Operator setup is in an overabundance, followed closely by 1/3 quickies. I get that these are popular, but I'd love to see more armored up bad boys than we have currently. Certain ops make me wonder why they aren't setup differently, like Sledge for example. He's a big dude - swings a hammer. Although he was also the speed record holder, so maybe I'm asking too much here.

Anyways, I just want some more with 3 armor, especially for attacker. I feel like there's a lack of variety in this regard, because every 3 armor Op seems geared towards being a shield bearer, with the exception of Fuze who has a little more flexibility. Every other operator layout has tons of variety. Does nobody else like being a juggernaut?!
