Posted: 29 Aug 2018 10:05 AM PDT Me and a buddy built this creeper farm on our SMP realm last night. The design is based on iJevin's hermitcraft farm and Xisuma's disc farm tutorial. Basically I wanted the simple efficiency of Xisuma's farm all below Y16 (only one sub-chunk in height for spawn efficiency), but also wanted it to fit within one chunk on an X- and Z- coordinate basis to minimize the excessive hole-digging required. I liked iJevin's build, because even with enclosing walls, it fits within one chunk. By using the magma block killing method (with hopper mine carts running underneath) I was able to fit two spawning platforms below Y15. So in form it is basically iJevin's farm before he switched to drop-killing, but with the sub-chunk efficiency of Xisuma's tutorial (and at some point I might modify it to move the killing area to an adjacent chunk to set up the skeleton killing mechanism for the discs). There is still a lot of caves and surface that I need to light up to imrove its efficiency, but even so it seems to be producing pretty quickly already! Anyway, thought I'd share. If anyone has any tips to improve it, I'm open to suggestion :). Edit: by the way there are a few pictures of the farm from different angles in the imgur album I linked (sorry they're a bit dark - personal note to use potion of night vision next time...).
