The New Panorama UI: From a designer's perspective

This post might suffer some backlash, and as a player, I completely understand. We've been waiting for the panorama UI and some attention from Valve for far too long, and when it finally came, people (as far as I could see) loved it.

I know that, compared to what we had, this new interface seems better, fresh, but I am here to give an opinion based on almost 9 years working in Art Direction/Visual Design. I don't have Panorama yet, as I am a macOS user, so I will be taking screenshots from the internet. I will not point ALL things, but some that might make you understand why I hate some design choices in this new UI.

So please, before downvote it, just pay attention to some points. I will try to be as understandable as possible, sorry for my englando on this post. I've been taking classes on Pasha London School, so it might take a while to get better.

Shall we begin?

- Let's start with the screen that made me do it. Finished Match Screen

Simple stuffs like alignment and proper margin between objects are missing. If you try hard, you can understand why these things are aligned the way it is, but there's better ways to design this screen, that could lead to a more racional and beautiful design, like: https://i.imgur.com/zisS97n.jpg / [poorly made ofc] It gives more hierarchy to the information, makes the alignment feel more natural. Easy things that could lead to a better design.

- Inspect Weapon

Item Rarity bar has no padding and feels odd when aligned along with the case's logo. Maybe it's to big for this screen, as the weapon and circle takes a huge part of it. In my opinion, it should be centered below the typo, leaving the logo alone in the left. Also, the text below is entered on screen, but aligned to the left, depends on the text, it will make you feel like the padding on the right is bigger than the one in the left, due line breaks.

This screen doesn't have much elements, so not much space for mistakes.

- Main menu bar

I can't see any icon matching visually with each other. The play button is bigger, which is fine, but it should have it's own spot, as the most important thing on the menu, just make it bigger feels like a mistake. The inventory is the smaller one and doesn't have a fill color (when inactive, gun is transparent). The demo's button has a fill color (low opacity white) that is different from the shield below, and a difference stroke weight than the Demo's button. It seems like they downloaded the buttons from different packs or websites and never thought about a design system. When active, the button turns into black, which for me makes me feel like it's inactive. From a design perspective, the bright one should be the selected icon, right?

- Map Selector

I really hate the design choice on this screen. There's a lot of blank space, and the boxes have all different sizes, so your eyes have to dance on screen to look for information (such as the name of the map group). I know, guys, doesn't really matter from a player perspective, you already know the maps and such, but think with me for a sec. This is a multimillionaire company designing a game for millions of people, they should pay attention to any detail.

- Match Stats

Well, for a designer, this is really painful to watch. What up with these colours? We didn't see it in any other screen, as far as I know. The hierarchy and type ratio is odd, and look at the leading (space between text lines) on the stats below, there's really hard to read. It's not hard to create well design statistics, we have a lot of reference for it. Something that you could read better at least. Look at some beautifully designed stats:

This is all simple stuff that should have been made better by Valve and it's design team. Sorry if I missed anything, I am opened to new screens for me to analyse the best way I can and add it here, and also different perspectives. This community is great and we should make an effort to be taking serious. You guys might think that Valve made the best for you, but for me, this is lazy work, unfortunately.
