TIL The bullet points on item properties have different meanings.

Posted: 11 Jun 2018 05:25 PM PDT

I just figured out that these bullet points indicate different things.

  • Dark Grey (not pictured): Imperfect property

  • Orange: Perfect property (depends on the property and current ancient/primal prefix) or legendary property (not cubable)

  • Yellow Outline: Legendary property, not cubed

  • Filled Yellow Outline: Legendary property, cubed

That is super subtle and nobody told me this existed at all, I was trying to use cube trackers and stuff.

Thank you

With all the "Salt" in this sub at times, I just want to take a quick minute to thank Blizzard for making a game I can easily jump into and play for a few weeks and have a blast, play some other games, and come back D3 and enjoy it just as much as the first time.

as the title.

Edit: add some pictures from the original Chinese post. I do not have an account there, so i could not ask for their permission. Since you can see their build on the leaderboard, so i assume they will not mind.

Seasonal Reminder: Save your Challenge Rift for AFTER the season begins!

Posted: 11 Jun 2018 04:48 AM PDT

Hey All,

This is just your seasonal reminder that, if you plan to start a seasonal character this week, do NOT complete the new Challenge Rift that will be released today. If you complete the new Challenge Rift today, you will earn the cache for non-seasonal ONLY and cannot claim it with your new seasonal character. If you want until after the season has begun, then complete your Challenge Rift, you will be able to claim the cache with your brand new, level 1 seasonal character.

Why should I wait? Because, in addition to over 4 million gold, you'll get the following on your brand new character: https://i.imgur.com/sNufKWi.jpg?1

This will give you a massive advantage at the start of the season since you will be able to instantly level all of your Artisans to max, and you will be able to cube a strong item to help with your first bounty run/GR20 to unlock your 6pc set.

Note: This applies to the NEW challenge rift, which will be added later today (c. 5pm ET for NA). Based on the class cycle, it should be a Necromancer one. Feel free to enter the Challenge Rift, explore the map(s), find the pylons, practice your skills, but do NOT kill the RG. I wouldn't even spawn the RG as you may accidentally kill him, especially if your Challenge Rift character has mages out.

Best of luck in Season 14!

Edit: I logged on to checkout the NA Challenge Rift, and it's very easy. It's a 6pc Rathma build with Skeletons, Golem, Mages, and an ancient weapon. The first floor alone will probably get you to 70-80%, and it has conduit and power pylons. I wouldn't risk spawning the RG as it would probably insta-die to the army, especially if you have your mages out.

GR group compositions

Posted: 11 Jun 2018 09:47 PM PDT

So obviously since I'm asking this question I'm not going to be seriously pushing leaderboards, but I'm curious as to how one goes about building a 4-man composition for GR pushing. From what I can tell it looks like you basically need a zbarb, a zmonk or maybe znecro, a rift guardian killer, and a trash killer. Is that accurate? What classes can fill each role? What experiences do you guys have running stuff beyond what looks to be zbarb/zmonk/Wizard/necro in 4 man GR content? Thank in advance for your responses!

[1.14d Mod] Succulent 1.1.0 now available! Lots of goodies including Anni/Torch now available on Single Player.

Posted: 11 Jun 2018 08:10 PM PDT

Hello all,

Succulent 1.1.0 is now available. With this change, Anni and Torch are now available on Single Player in the exact same manner as Gheeds. They are now an iLvl 70 item (Same as Gheeds) which can be found by monster/maps/chests that meet that requirement. I wasn't able to find them in Hell Blood Moor, Cold Plains, Stony Field (Since they probably don't meet those requirements), but they are findable in at least Catacombs Level 2 (I didn't try anything lower than that). Percentage probabilities are mentioned in the below change list. There are also other nice changes imported from Pre-LOD and 1.07.

1.1.0 Changes

Lots of goodies!

[Pre 1.07]

- Immune monsters are no longer in the game (Excluding Enchanted Monsters).

> Monster resistances are capped at 90%.

- Skill timers are removed.

[Pre 1.08]

- Static Field now works the same as in 1.07 and Pre-LOD.

> Allows one to reduce the monster's life down to 1 on all difficulties.

[Drop Changes]

- Annihilus & Hellfire Torch are now droppable like Gheeds.

Jewelry C Drop Rates (Before Anni/Torch Addition):

Rings - 40% Chance

Amulets - 20% Chance

Jewels/Charms - 10% Chance

Jewelry C Drop Rates (After Anni/Torch Addition):

Rings - 33.33% Chance

Amulets - 16.67% Chance

Jewels/Charms/Anni/Torch - 8.33% Chance

Question: Strength in Numbers Bonus

Posted: 11 Jun 2018 07:00 PM PDT

Does this bonus apply to closing of Greater Rifts, meaning would one get more XP if all party members were in the same town before closing?

Thanks!

I want to view character inventories without logging into those characters

Posted: 11 Jun 2018 01:21 PM PDT

And the code for this already exists! it was part of the auction house. You could browse every single character inventory and it was excellent, I used this feature much more than the auction house to move items from a random character into the shared stash.

This and a global item search are features I would love. Anyone else remember being able to quickly check every character inventory from within the auction house ?

Returning Player - Seasonal Question

Posted: 11 Jun 2018 05:02 PM PDT

Hey guys,

Returning to D3 for the first time since Season... maybe 3? But even then I barely played, but used to play a ton back when the game launched.

Anyway, I'm going to be starting my first seasonal character in S14 and have a simple but super noob question to ask...

If I find a build for a class that I want to work toward, should that build in all its aspects be my total goal for the season? What I mean is, whatever legendaries, set bonuses, gems, abilities, etc. are represented in that build, is that what I keep farming toward or is there a certain "progression" of builds?

For example, I know that all classes get a starter set from the seasonal journey, but do a lot of builds focus on this set or should I find a build for that set to use while working toward a different build?

Sorry if this is vague or confusing, just trying to figure out what direction I want to go in and what I should be expecting to do.

If it helps, I'm debating on rolling either a Monk or Necro for the season.

Season Start Necro vs DH

Posted: 11 Jun 2018 10:06 AM PDT

Hey I'm currently looking at all the Necro & DH Starter guides and leaderboard builds because I can't decide what to pick.

I haven't played Necro yet and the Pestilence Set looks fun + I'd be nice to do Rathma runs for the first time and really start upping my paragon game but the Necro Season Start looks really slow compared to the DHs.

So I guess my questions would be:

  • How does the Necros start with Pestilence compare to the Demon Hunters with Marauder

  • Would you immediately farm towards Rathmas or another Set and if so what is the most efficient way/set to farm gear on a Necro

  • How heavily does the Necro rely on having an In-Geom for its speed variants and does it feel mobile without

I really wouldn't want the rifting at the start to feel slow and tedious until I've farmed a completely different set, Marauder is definitely not the best set but it never felt slow or like a chore to play until I had UE in past Seasons due to tumble and not relying on In-Geom.

Diablo 4 Story: Continuation or Prequel?

Posted: 11 Jun 2018 08:32 AM PDT

Just curious what you guys would want for a story regarding a new Diablo game.

Would you want to see a continuation from the Reaper of Souls story where the status of the Prime/Lesser Evils is in question since their souls have been released from the Black Soulstone?

Or would you want to see a game based in the past, revolving around perhaps the initial battle for Sanctuary between Heaven/Hell or the quest of the Horadrim to contain Baal/Mephisto/Diablo within the soulstones?

I am not the biggest fan of where they took the Diablo lore throughout D3 so I would prefer to see a Prequel (mainly seeing the former glory of kingdoms like Kurast) but the end of Reaper of Souls also leaves a lot to the imagination.

Is it worth trying to get Born's Defiance or Cain's Fate for season leveling? (in 4-player group)

Posted: 11 Jun 2018 01:51 PM PDT

Is it worth the time to do an early act worth of bounties, especially since you might not get any of the plans you are looking for?
(Our general goal is to complete chapters 1-4 as fast as possible.)
Thanks in advance for your advice!

Any guides on beating the main quest to unlock adventure mode quickly?

Posted: 11 Jun 2018 01:11 PM PDT

Played Diablo 3 when it came out on the 360. Had my fun with it but once I beat it that was kinda it. Recently picked it up again and playing it on the Xbox one. I'm loving the horde of undead doing my bidding but not loving my the loot. Want to get to end game quickly, any suggestions?

Which monk build...

Posted: 11 Jun 2018 12:53 PM PDT

Hi, this will probably be the last D3 season I will play and is is my objective : completing the "come to heal" achievement. And I would like to achieve it in game (not in town). Which build do you recommend me so I can achieve it without being a pain in the ass of the others of the group (and without having to grind too much) ?

Posted: 11 Jun 2018 12:19 PM PDT

As the title say what do you guys think is the best composition of team to play as 4 to the beginning of the season and throught the first day ( so just the first 12-16 hours ) to be the more efficient possible.

Your Class for Season 14

Posted: 10 Jun 2018 11:36 PM PDT

What class will start with or main through Season 14? Personally I will be starting as a Necro or Sader because the Haedrig's Gift set for both classes are good and I have a total of 15 hours played between the two. Can't really decide between the two. I will probably main the one I enjoy playing the most or switch back to the DH later on in the season if I get tired of either or both classes.
