Free Talk Friday - April 6th

Posted: 06 Apr 2018 01:07 AM PDT

What's GOOD, /r/leagueoflegends! IcyColdStare here with this week's edition of our Free Talk Friday thread! Hope you've all had a great week <3

Irelia's new update is finally on live! I've only played a couple games as the Blade Dancer but she just feels smooth, y'know? I've been having a blast with her. As strong as she was initially (better nerf Irelia, amirite? dohoho old meme) she seems to be finding an alright spot. Have you been playing her? Let us know!

LCS is making waves across the world as the leagues travel from their OG venues- EU to Copenhagen and NA to Miami! Is anyone at either event? Got some stories to share, or just wanna share your hype? Go for it, yo!

That's it from your boy for this week - it's your turn now! Just remember the same deal it is every week - talk shop, play nice and as always, have a great weekend fam!

With SKT out, this will be the first MSI without Faker, Bang, and Wolf. Only one player now still has a chance to be the only person to attend every MSI.....

10 points to Dumbledoge!

Edit : For clarification, Dumbledoge is a player from Turkey that has been at every MSI. His team Royal Bandits is still in playoffs and has a chance to qualify, but will likely have to get by Supermassive which have dominated the entire split.

2018 Spring EU LCS Copenhagen Finals: Fnatic vs G2

Posted: 06 Apr 2018 10:35 AM PDT

You should not lose a series if you DC but come back to win the game.

Posted: 06 Apr 2018 06:30 AM PDT

So basically if you have a problem that caused you to AFK then no matter if you win the game you get a LOSS. This is very bad because it takes away the motive to come back and try to win. Also, someone who AFKs due to toxicity and not network issue, he can just right click every few moments and go unpunished. But the player with the real problem gets punished for coming back and trying to win. This makes no sense.

Happy 5 Year Anniversary specially to Faker. Here is their first Match: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1TP8ZC_Dyg

Riot Korea just banned all of Cowsep's accounts

A Korean's view on the Inven reaction post on Reddit Cowsep thread

Posted: 06 Apr 2018 11:26 AM PDT

Hey, I'm a 22 year old Korean who moved to Canada when I was 12, who played LoL for 6 years, browsed /r/leagueoflegends and LoLInven regularly during that time, and who recently quit league because how much the game made me into a worse person. (just started playing battlerite, it's a great game, you should try it :))

To me, any crosspost between Reddit and Inven is extremely interesting because of the different views eastern and western cultures have. The cowsep thread was no exception.

I watch cowsep's stream time to time. Every time I watch him stream, he's always frustrated. Even if he's winning, he doesn't seem like he's enjoying the game because of the treatment he gets from the Korean server. There's an Inven top post right now about the cowsep ban situation. The following are the top three comments:

"Riot Korea finally did something right"

"Cowsep is the guy who ignores every single ping and goes machete>zeal>infinity edge on Tryndamere"

"Cowsep acts like he's the fucking victim and spreading rumours like Koreans are all racists. and yankees on reddit are jerking off on how former TSM coach said Koreans are all extreme nationalists is actually not false. Riot Korea may not the best company around but can't side Cowsep on this one"

Proof of this: https://imgur.com/Bt9BSaT

Now these are toned down version of translation because no matter how fluent I am at both languages, you can't just translate emotions directly.

Reading these comments actually makes me sick. I've always been proud of my Korean heritage but not today. I can't begin to comprehend how racists Koreans are. It is not right to witch hunt Cowsep just because he plays master yi and farms jungle more than he ganks. Funny thing is, Cowsep actually tries as best as he can to communicate in Korean in game, however his teammates ignores his effort and says "foreigner gtfo of our server" most of the time.

Personally, I couldn't handle the toxicity on North American server so that made my love for the game diminish over time. I can't even begin to imagine how more toxic Korean server is, AND I'M 1.5 GEN AND FLUENT IN KOREAN. I know RiotNA has no control over this matter but surely they can request a meeting or something with RiotKorea to consult about the toxicity in Korean server.

Edit: I am a 1.5 gen Korean Canadian, lived in Canada for more than 10 years, am a Canadian citizen, but I browse Korean forums every day, keep close to Korean politics, speak Korean and eat Korean food when I'm with my parents. I know almost everything there is about Korea. Also I lived in a small maritime province in Canada during my youth years and experienced quite heavy racism while growing up (because the province was basically 99% caucasian) and I still think racism in Korea is much worse. My parents are being racists sometimes even without knowing and my brother and I always try to educate them.

I made Aatrox as a Mythic Pokemon

Posted: 06 Apr 2018 05:39 AM PDT

http://imgur.com/FA7hnxQ

So lately I've been trying to make every League champ a Pokemon in some sort of way. I've already done the 1st evolution for the 3 starters (Ivern, Nami, Ornn). Those are not in their completed form but they are pretty much what I want them to end up looking like. Im not that great at digital art but this was something I wanted to try to help get better and to push my creativity and I wanted to incorporate League into it. Hope you enjoy!

EDIT: here are the two version titles I came up with not too long ago Void and Radiance Version :) http://imgur.com/a/M6Y9a

People *quitting* League

Posted: 06 Apr 2018 04:47 AM PDT

Funny how you can see this pattern when a new game comes up (Fortnite) people start quitting league. It was the same with Overwatch. When Fortnite calms down in a few months all these quitters are going to be back on that solo Q grind.

A simple guide on how to jungle correctly, based on advice given by laners

Posted: 06 Apr 2018 07:37 AM PDT

This is just a list of advice for playing jungle, compiled by me from the many tips laners have given through the years

• If you haven't ganked top at least 5 times before 3 minutes, you're a bad jungler.

• Any blue or red buff after your first clear belongs to your mid or adc

• Your laners should have free reign to all your jungle camps whenever they want, because you don't need them

• Taking even a single cs from a laner is grounds for a report on griefing and/or assisting the enemy team

• If your bot lane gets ganked for being overextended, it's your fault for not keeping vision of the enemy jungler

• Complaining about the hardships of jungling is a strict no on Reddit. Nobody is ever allowed to play victim aside from top laners.

Hope these tips help you play better! If any laners have more suggestions, just comment and I'll add them.

• By u/Psyku - Never let the enemy jungler gank, because if they get a kill, it's 100% your fault.

• By u/ArcanaPrince - Whenever the enemy jungler ganks, you must be there right away to counter-gank, no matter where you are at the time.

• By u/HD_Freshizzle - After 20 minutes if you're fed, you are not allowed to farm any camps, and are required to sit in baron pit at all times

Origen bottom lane hint

Posted: 06 Apr 2018 02:31 AM PDT

Origen posted a story on their instagram, wherin there are two puppets who resembles Harry Potter and Dracos Malfoy. There is also a puppet-dragon. Below the picture, there is a text consisting of two rows, and in the rows, there are numbers. It looks as follows:

485120.956

021845.284

On their story, there are two colours: teal and white.

I have represented the white colours as white, and the teal as bold font.

What could this code mean? My initial idea was to swap the 18 and 51, as they are in the wrong place colour-wise.

Edit: Picture was linked in the comments, so here: Picture

When Will Rune Secondary Changing Be Fixed???

Posted: 05 Apr 2018 10:45 PM PDT

I am so tired of the secondary tree on runes. Everytime I make a slight change this->that.... the game decides I wanted to KEEP this and instead change there->that. So now my page is something different than intended.

Is it so hard, if I CLICK I want to change this one then let me change this one. I know there might be something preventing it like two being on the same row or something needs validation, but man is it stupid.

Karma's new lore is awful

Posted: 05 Apr 2018 07:38 PM PDT

The name itself says: KARMA. It's not about being an absolute pacifist, it's about being reciprocal. Treat in the same way. Use violence against those who also practice it to stop them. It just ruined everything. All her lines say the opposite, and the skills also show the opposite. The new lore is basically Korra's story, who has lost her connection with all the previous reincarnations of the avatars since the beginning of time and hence their skills, experiences. Karma is a revolutionary leader against oppression and war, not a hippie pacifist. This thing of being a repentant goddess who has decided to meditate forever to make up for the deaths she has caused is unacceptable. "If you desire peace, you must prepare for war!". After reading some comments, I even could accept this new lore if they had AT LEAST made her to have a clash of ideologies with the goddess in her head, both arguing about what to do, and in the end, she had made the CONSCIOUS choice to give up her divinity for the sake of her people. It would be much more poetic, cohesive and faithful to the character's original personality. It's a detail that makes all the difference.

Shouldn't you be able to move inventory in the shop?

Posted: 06 Apr 2018 03:31 AM PDT

As the title says, I think that you should be able to move items in your inventory from both the HUD inventory and the shop inventory.

It seems like this would be a good quality of life feature, and as it seems so straightforward, it makes me wonder why it has not already been done.

It just feels natural that you should be able to move items around in the inventory shop. After all, isn't it just a duplicate of what is shown on your HUD?
