This Week at DestinyReddit 4/1/2018 Posted: 31 Mar 2018 07:25 PM PDT Source: https://reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/88a92h/the_tokens_mason_what_do_they_mean/ This week at DestinyReddit, we deployed Operation 2TAAB. If you haven't heard, DestinyReddit just got a pretty substantial update. There are changes to your commenting, your posting, browsing in /new, rewards in /rising, and more. To give us a taste of the human element behind subreddit development, Design Lead Josh Swolo sat down in front of a camera to represent the team that worked on this new update. We didn't record what he said, but I'm sure it was good. Want to see these changes in action? We also put out a video showing off the hero moments you can expect in the new state of DestinyReddit. Video Link to ChrisDAnimation's animation Drang-o UnchainedWith 2TAAB out the door, we now turn our attention to 3TAAB. If you have been paying attention to our Development Roadmap (it doesn't exist, but it's still as useful as some others we assure you) you may have noticed that Exotic Token changes will be a part of the next evolution of 2TAAB. We felt like now was a good opportunity for a little show and tell. First off, Senior Designer Mike Wazowski is here to tell you a little about the changes we have for two of the less celebrated Exotic tokens in the arsenal.
We'll talk more about the changes to Exotic tokens in the weeks to come. All of these upgrades to token performance will land in the inventory of players when Season 3TAAB begins. We'll have a lot more to talk about before then. Long Live the KingNew Monarchy cannot be stopped. This is meant to be a parody post about tokens but we're actually gonna be serious here. They claimed their fourth Faction Rallies victory in a row this week. Reddit, what the fuck. We're starting to wonder if anyone can challenge the dominance of their growing dynasty, like seriously, FWC has some cool shit we promise. Here are the results of the final Faction Rallies of Season 2: None of these numbers are a passing grade. The other two factions will have some time to regroup and plot their comebacks. At least we hope to god they do cause NM weapons are going to be like, a rusted pipe next time and if you let them win again we'll just cancel factions. Faction Rallies is taking some time off while we work on some improvements to the event. First improvement is going to be removing New Monarchy from the running. Keep an eye on our Development Roadmap for more info on when you can pledge to your favorite faction again, provided they aren't New Monarchy. I thought we paid Deej off to swing this thing in Dead Orbit's favor. Anyways, 2TAAB! This is Bat CountryThe members of DestinyReddit User Support are the watchful protectors always working diligently behind the scenes. They also, don't exist [Read that in Jeremy Clarkson's voice ty]. This is their report.
This isn't even our final form. We have more changes coming to DestinyReddit. This was another step. The next one is coming in 2049 alongside Ryan Gosling. Keep an eye on our Roadmap and we will keep you up to date with what to expect. Also, He who knows the true name of the Gjallarhorn will be awarded in great wealth. You have a lot of changes to experiment with. We are already hearing some cool stories from the subreddit about tokens and tokens performing well. Just be careful out there with your new powers. Go fast responsibly. <3 DTG [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Apr 2018 05:08 AM PDT After the go fast update I can say without a shadow of a doubt my faith in bungie has been completely restored. Destiny is once again a pillar in AAA gaming. This community has never been more united behind the franchise. This is the best time to be a Destiny Fan!!!! [link] [comments] |

Suppressor nades only make arcstrider better Posted: 01 Apr 2018 08:29 AM PDT Better as in INFINITE When I say infinite, I really mean infinite. [link] [comments] |
Can I please choose wtf I want to play Posted: 01 Apr 2018 11:44 AM PDT Can we pick what we want to play in crucible plz cause i don't want to play supremacy 10 time in a row. Like why did you get rid of player choice to begin with? It ruin people's experience and makes them frustrated because they can't play what they want to play [link] [comments] |

Unsure if anyone else has the same problem, but the raid helmet mod hasn't worked since the update. Posted: 01 Apr 2018 09:43 AM PDT Grenades are not recharging after supers. I've tried swapping subclasses and the appropriate mods, and tried both the Leviathan and Lair helmets. None of them work. Anyone else have this problem? It's not a big deal for most, but I run a grenade->nova bomb->grenade DPS strat so it's kind of crucial for me. [link] [comments] |

I like it so much that i put it as my new background :D She is on instagram and post only gaming screenshots especially destiny with the selfie gesture. If you want to look at her shots, its "UnicornLaady" on instagram. (https://www.instagram.com/unicornlaady/) If it isn't allowed to post a link to insta, please feel free to edit it. But let this thread open. It would be very nice for critic or something. Thank you! [link] [comments] |
Hunters need a 'go fast' update. Posted: 31 Mar 2018 09:55 PM PDT Hunters need to be able to compete with the other classes speeds. Possible fixes:
This is just an overall buff to make the ability an actual dodge, rather than lemme turn this corner faster.
Make us run faster to keep up with the insanely fast skating of the other classes.
Not exactly sure how this would work, seeing how we don't really have air game, but it could boost us forwards.
This is NOT the solution. However, it can be an extra buff that will further solidify hunter's identity as the more mobile class, as currently it has no identity and is just a mess of ideas scooped together. edit: the amount of salt from non-hunters is alarming, though I shouldn't be surprised. edit2: enter generic but night stalkers!!!! comment here [link] [comments] |
The reason D2 is missing so many things D1 had is because the entire theme of D2 is loss. Posted: 01 Apr 2018 08:33 AM PDT

Full Orbit-Only Version of Journey (Vocals) - Destiny Unreleased OST Posted: 01 Apr 2018 05:54 AM PDT Check it out my dudes! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUA6d7dQU_Y Side note: Highly recommend checking this channel out for more unreleased OST, this guy is a god. I've been subscribed to him for months. [link] [comments] |
Bungie, love the update, but why isn’t tether instant and one-hit kill? Posted: 31 Mar 2018 06:41 PM PDT So I main Nightstalker for PVP, and I've been loving the 'Go Fast' update so far. I'm glad to see Arcstrider is finally viable, but it's making the problems with the tether so much more evident. It really sucks to fire a perfect tether only to be kill by a super or someone you hit directly and die wasting the tether. [link] [comments] |
Competitive playlist became very interesting all of a sudden. Posted: 01 Apr 2018 09:38 AM PDT I have returned to competitive playlist since the go fast update came out and i can say that im enjoying very much the new meta AND the lack of mini map. I would like to hear your opinion on this guardians, have you played ? What do you think about the changes ? [link] [comments] |
Trick to highest mobility is low Mobility Posted: 01 Apr 2018 06:35 AM PDT Counter intuitive like many of Bungie's systems, but the trick to highest mobility is actually having low Mobility. Why? Because high Mobility stat increases your initial jump height, and the higher your initial jump the longer you have to wait until the opportune moment to activate your Burst (Warlocks) or Strafe (Titans). To Warlock surf: you jump, wait until you reach the highest point of your jump and start falling then you Burst towards the ground to land you quickly. To Titan strafe: you jump, wait until you start falling then activate strafe so you travel parallel to the ground, if activated too early you will go vertical which you don't want because it will take even longer to fall to the ground again. The reason every single person I met in Destiny 1 hated me. Posted: 01 Apr 2018 01:43 AM PDT I got the fatebringer the first time I ever did Vault of Glass. Now you can hate me too [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Apr 2018 09:07 AM PDT These were epic in D1, and have yet to leave my warlocks legs after months, because they are frickin sick. Bring back glory to these armors. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Mar 2018 04:46 PM PDT In Calcified Fragment: Insight (RIP Grimoire), Oryx details how the Books of Sorrow lead to the Touch of Malice, which essentially contains Oryx's essence. When Gary and his Red Legion blew up the tower and OUR GUNS, he also inadvertently destroyed the biggest boss of D1. [link] [comments] |
Wrath of the Machine is better than Vault of Glass. Change my mind. Posted: 31 Mar 2018 08:25 PM PDT Not April Fools. I want to see if anyone could change my mind. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Apr 2018 12:37 PM PDT Is anyone else happy to see a NEW Exotic weapon ruling the crucible? I know that I'm going to get tired of seeing it eventually, but I personally feel like it's good that the best pvp weapon (for the most part) is an exotic, instead of "High Cal Rounds, The Gun" being the king. What other weapons do you guys want to see start to shine? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Mar 2018 02:06 PM PDT There's a common rebuttal that comes up whenever someone brings up backlash from Activision about Destiny 2 and it goes something like this: Destiny 2 made Activision around a billion dollars, and so they don't care about the backlash from the community. That's something of a simplification, but it gets the point across. The basic idea is that Bungie is essentially immune to corporate backlash because of the money they made, and that Activision is pretty happy with the current situation. I'd argue, however, that not only has Activision been paying attention to the backlash, they're actually probably just as angry as we are about it. Okay maybe not as angry as us, but certainly not happy about the reception post launch. Activision's goal isn't just to make a billion dollars anymore. They have multiple games that make a billion dollars, just releasing a game and having it make a lot of money at launch isn't their primary goal. The industry has shifted to the 'games as a service' model, which is reliant on sustained player interaction and goodwill. The two things Destiny 2 is completely failing at, despite the fact that it was created to fix exactly those problems. And make no mistake those are the problems Destiny 2 was created to address. Destiny 2 wasn't just created to make them money off of a new release, it was created to revitalize and increase the size of the player base. Despite persistent good word of mouth many people had too many negative feelings from Destiny1's release or were too intimidated by the size of the game to start playing again. Destiny 2 gave everyone a chance to get in on the ground floor of a game that they might have been interested in, but that had significant barriers to entry. It was also supposed to secure Activision's dominance of another highly lucrative genre in the face of serious renewed competition. None of that happened. Regular positive news about the original Destiny and solid buzz from its fanbase have turned into a blitz of negative stories with every major announcement and the loss of streamers and content creators. Destiny 2 made them money on launch, it's been nothing but a problem for them since. Even the money it made them initially isn't as much of a boon as it seemed to be, as it now needs to be reinvested into Destiny 3. Destiny 2 is basically unsalvageable from a public relations perspective, meaning Activision will now have to put even more money into the development of Destiny 3, rather than being able to use Destiny 2 as a platform to develop DLC until the next generation of consoles. And, barring the immediate end of the franchise, there will be a Destiny 3. There has to be if they want to continue to lead the genre, or even remain relevant. Which brings us to the second reason Activision likely isn't happy, Destiny 2 has left a gaping hole in a market in the face of serious competition. The first game in a major market can often maintain genre dominance despite serious competition, provided it maintains a high enough standard or quality. A level of quality I have no doubt Destiny 2 has fallen far below. Destiny 2 should have been a solidification of Destiny's leadership of not only a highly lucrative market, but a market that would be especially difficult to break into once that leader had been decided. Given the amount of time that tends to get invested into this type of game, most players likely only play one on a regular basis. And if you're the only game in the market it's easy to be that game. Destiny 2 might have been able to shut out Anthem before it even had a chance, but now it almost finds itself in a disadvantageous position. Again, Destiny 2 was supposed to prevent all of this. It was supposed to lock down the current Destiny playerbase while providing a jumping on point for players who had drifted away but were still interested in shared world shooters before Anthem had a chance to get at them. It was supposed to provide necessary updates to the engine underlying the game so that it would be easier to release new content and keep players engaged without the need to spend money to develop Destiny 3. It was supposed to provide a platform for Activision to make money from for years while making them a tidy profit on its release. Destiny 2 provided them with that initial money sure, but in the wake of the failure to meet their other objectives, constant negative press, and threats to their sustained revenue base I can't believe that makes them happy. And if I'm smart enough to realize this, then the people at Activision certainly are. To paraphrase Jim Sterling games companies aren't interested in making money, they're interested in making all the money, and Destiny 2 has destroyed it's potential to do that. tldr; Activision is no longer interested in just making money once. They want to be able to use their games as platforms to make money, something that Destiny 2 can no longer reliably do. Activision is likely just as mad about D2's failures as we are, and the argument that just because D2 made money Activision is happy doesn't at all seem to be true. [link] [comments] |
