Hello again! My last UI mockup went down pretty well, (possibly just because it was for build templates) so I figured I'd share my next project, too. I wanted to work on a series of small icons for this one, since I don't have much practice with them, so I decided to take a look at LFG.

Outside of the bloat of the 'Open World' category, I honestly feel like LFG is perfectly functional at the moment (besides it showing you the listings of people on your blocklist), so a lot of these changes are cosmetic (adding icons, showing off the splash art a little more, using more images to break up the wall of text).

There were a few functional changes I included though, like a number on each category showing the number of active listings in it, a block button to quickly remove people who list things you don't want to see (raid sellers, for example), and a reshuffle of the listings to have less dead space and allow more text to show.

A couple of days ago I made a post about getting back into the game, after playing on and off a long time ago. I had an 80 Mesmer that I tried playing (from my HoT boost) but I ended up deleting her. I rolled a new mesmer, and have been playing it from level 1 - really enjoying the experience. Mesmer is so incredibly cool.

Levelling has been slow, but relaxing. I really enjoy all the exploration that I get to do, although sometimes I feel a little directionless. A couple things happened to me last night that locked me into loving this game, and sold me PoF:

First off, I got swept up by a massive zerg of players while I was just exploring. They stampeded me in a group of nearly 50 players, and I just kind of... Followed them. For a couple hours. I got an invite to their guild and was up way too late chatting with them about the game, and killing world bosses that I didnt even know existed. It was a trip.

Second thing? I discovered PvP. Holy hell, it is so fun. I'm nearly level 10 in my PvP progression, and have lost most of my games beecause I'm horrible, but every once in a while I do something that feels REALLY cool - and i'm totally hooked. Pulling those plays out make me feel like I'm good, and encourage me to improve.

Long story short, PvP and some impromptu zerging made me fall in love with this game. I'm really, really enjoying myself and am excited to get to start doing the stuff I really want to do - stuff like RP, raiding, and WvW. Thanks to everyone I've met that have made this experience so cool.

[BATS] Updated Benchmarks for Power Herald and Renegade (Including Soulcleave's Summit Builds!)

Welcome to another set of Revenant benchmarks that nobody asked for but I did anyway! If you missed my last post, click here to see what I'm talking about.

Update on the State of Power Revenant

Not much has changed for the standard Shiro/Jalis builds since the aforementioned post other than some slight rotational improvements. After some testing, however, I realized the benefits of using Renegade and Kalla for the Soulcleave's Summit Elite skill over any combination of Legends and Herald.

Soulcleave's Summit

The Renegade Elite skill offers a massive increase to team DPS as well as sustain while being a natural part of the rotation. Every hit while its effect is active adds ~485 Life Siphon damage and 386 Healing on a full zerk build. What makes this effect special is the lack of an internal cooldown, meaning the damage increase scales depending on the recipient's class. Classes with a high hit-per-second ratio such as Weaver (~6.1 hits/second) benefit significantly more than slower-hitting classes like Spellbreaker (~2.7 hits/second). This compounds further when you are able to start a fight with more than 50 energy and precast Soulcleave for a longer-lasting effect and even moreso during opening bursts where Weavers can reach as high as ~11 hits/second.

This means, depending on your class composition and uptime on the Elite (~40% from golem testing), the DPS contribution can range from 2k to 10k or more. This either breaks even with the personal DPS loss or results in a serious net gain for the group when compared to other Power Revenant builds.

Viability in Raids

Contrary to my last post in which I downplayed its viability, I would recommend the Kalla Renegade build to any player looking for an easy yet consistent DPS build. The simple rotation combined with the benefits of Soulcleave's Summit makes it an attractive option over other, more complex classes and rotations.

unexpected personal milestone.

So I was duelling in WvW on my Spellbreaker at 2.30am last night (about two hours later than I should have stayed up) when I hit this unexpected neat alignment of numbers.

This personal milestone was only possible by the Rank 1 Warrior looking to get into WvW and 2 mesmers tagging our Bay hoping to fight some 1v1 duels on the pastures outside.

Thanks for the fun 4444 hours and 44 minutes over the past 2000 days all of you.
