343i: MCC LAN still requires Xbox LIVE

Short: Why should H:TMCC on LAN require a ping to Xbox LIVE to work?

Long: In the coming Spring 2018 update from Halo: The Master Chief Collection, I would like to see a revision to the in-menu multiplayer roster. While I believe H:TMCC supports LAN, players are required to be connected to Xbox LIVE to be visible on the roster, regardless if under the same modem or not.

All Halo games do have a dedicated roster for LAN players (H:CE), and the rest a roster for Xbox LIVE (2 through 4). While Halo 5's multiplayer features LAN by dedicated server on Windows 10, it requires an Internet connection just as Xbox LIVE H5 multiplayer.

Why should H:TMCC on LAN require a ping to Xbox LIVE to work? Is it the fact Gamertags on Xbox One require an Xbox LIVE account? Also, when I play against my friend on my LAN, do our Xboxs actually ping each other directly or no?

So it's been awhile since ive done any online Halo play. I mainly do the campaign, but recently ive wanted to do the multiplayer and i dont know if its worth live. I wouldnt do anything else online, and id mainly play halo 5 (which i love so that wouldnt be the problem) but is it really worth 60 bucks?

So I got the MCC for Christmas, and as I finished Delta Halo, I received the achievement "He never gets me anything", the one where you completed the level without entering a vehicle. But the thing is, I entered the Warthog, Scorpion and two Ghosts during the playthrough. Not that I'm complaining or anything, all I'm asking is how did that happen?

For me, it was probably the sequence on Sanghelios where you get to use the Mantis and rip through the Covenant forces on your way to the Arbiter.

I also liked the cutscene where Locke and Master Chief duke it out, and it looks like Locke might have the upper hand on Master Chief before Master Chief schools him.

Rediscovered my love for these games with a friend via Xbox One BC. Both of us have fond memories of playing Jenga, Trash Compactor, Fat Kid, etc.

Hoping redditors out there are keeping the fun alive and wouldn't mind two extras.

So I recently watched a video involving a glitch in Halo 3 where you blow up the scarab on The Ark before the big battle with it, it's then turned into a two legged, destroyed scarab. This gave me the idea for a new hero in Halo Wars 2. It could be similar Anders' Retriever Sentinel in that you call it in via leader power. It wouldn't be destroyed obviously but it would be a slightly smaller, faster, two legged version of the normal scarab. Not sure if 343 and Creative Assembly are going to be making another leader DLC for Halo Wars 2 but I think this would be an epic idea.

So I finally broke down and got me a x-bone. The Halo bundle was on walmart.com for $200 and I just couldn't pass up the console with Halo 5 and MCC. Just curious which game(s) still have active online communities? I have enjoyed multiplayer on every title over the years, so no preference, just want to know if there are any that have become difficult to find full matches.

My 1.07 career k/d ratio awaits you all.

Edit - only should be online. My spelling is sometimes knot good.

I just played through regret on legendary since it was the last mission I needed for halo 2 (had already beaten it before but it didn't count for whatever reason) only to finish the level and find out that it didn't count again. Seriously wtf is this bullshit

Halo 5 Forge isn't working for me?

It refuses to load and every time I launch a forge session, I am kicked back to the map and game type selection screen. This has been happening for weeks. Does anyone know any fixes for this issue?
