Atriox on the level of chief and arbiter

Posted: 01 Dec 2017 04:12 PM PST

I hope I'm not the only one that wants to see him in a major role in the next game. He has the potential to be on the level of chief and arbiter,as a paragon of his species. His fight with red team was a major confirmation of this for me.

One thing Halo 6 definitely needs; a Surrender function, and better leaver system

Posted: 01 Dec 2017 01:23 PM PST

Something that has always sucked in Halo is leavers, quitters and disconnects. And it's never been well-addressed in any Halo game to date; yet there are so many better examples to learn from including League, Overwatch, SMITE, Rainbow Six Siege etc.

It's a fairly simple idea too;

Surrendering requires a simple majority vote in 4v4 gametypes, and a 2/3rds vote in 8v8/12v12 gametypes. If there are not enough players left on a team that a majority vote could work or a team has lost over a third of it's members (IE: There are less than 3 players in a 4v4 match, 5 or less in an 8v8 etc.) than the remaining players on that team may leave the match at no penalty, though they still incur a loss.

Surrendering becomes available when a teammate leaves the match (2 for 8v8, 3 for 12v12) or when the halfway point for scoring is reached (IE: 25 for Slayer, 2 for CTF, 125 for Oddball etc.) using the above rules.

The team that surrenders still receives a full loss. The winning team isn't affected.

At the very least, the victims of leavers and quitters shouldn't have to constantly suffer from it, especially at the levels (very low and and very high) where it occurs all the time, and this goes a long way to alleviating that, especially in gametypes like BTB and Warzone which go on for a very long time.

*EDIT: I'd also suggest that the game could use a Mercy system similar to Destiny, where Palmer calls off the match early if one team is clearly getting dumpstered, like Shaxx does in the Destiny Crucible.

Just finished the original. Question about the story. *spoilers*

If Halo is an ancient artifact that the covenant worship, why does its defense system wipe out all life (i.e. covenant included)? I understand the premise that it must be done to starve the flood, but I don't understand why the covenant would worship something that would kill them also.

I'm playing through the series, so if this is revealed in a later game, please don't spoil it. Thanks!

Medals and stats in Halo MCC

Posted: 01 Dec 2017 03:54 PM PST

Is there anywhere I can view these? Any third party stat tracker? I'm curious to see how I'm summed up and the game doesn't really offer any detail and waypoint doesn't either.

This is normally where I'd rant and rave about how bungie did it better and actually tracked that stuff and 343 is a bunch of little kids that don't know what the fuck they're doing!!!....but I'm going to take a deep breath and wait patiently for an answer :)

In the Halo 5 campaign every time I went down I'd start yelling at tanaka for being useless, you guys agree or nah?
