We should have global block limit rules for Multiverse

Posted: 22 Dec 2017 08:47 AM PST

Allowing all bots is not going to work that well in nost types of PvP. Bots with a frame mede of braces and ballasts are almost impossible to break by another robot and quadcopters completely outshadow almost any other bot type. Also it is possible to make an extremely tanky bot by spamming suspension and wood is almost useless. Then there's the fact that you can spam your bot with cannons and flamethrowers which makes it really strong too so we need some aort of limit on those.

How about we set up some sort of global rules for PvP so everyone can make bots that allow them to enter all upcoming major PvP tournaments and stuff. If every server has it's own rules that means you'd have to constantly build new bots. We can pin the rules to this subreddit so everyone can see

Of course the water doesn't really do any actual damage, but it looks pretty.

Does Besiege support Blender materials?

Posted: 22 Dec 2017 09:31 AM PST

Hi! I am currently in the process of creating new models for all machine parts with Blender, which I never touched before (generally speaking, I have never done any 3D modelling).

I watched some tutorials and started making some models, looking better and better the more time I spent subdividing meshes, and man... it's so much fun!

I always took the template parts as reference for the size, and I am halfway done creating models for all parts, except for the UV mapping, which comes after I created the last part.

There is however a function in Blender which allows you to add materials , changing the look of the surface, amongst other things, the „Glossy BSDF" as an example. I'm pretty sure that it takes lighting sources into consideration (lighting reflection will stay, from the direction it comes from, if object is moving) in contrast to mere textures. If I export a .OBJ file, Blender will also create a .MTL file if „Write Materials" is enabled.

So my question is, does Besiege support applied materials on objects?
