Workshop Wednesday - Give Crafting Tips, Offer Services, Help Your Fellow Crafters!

Posted: 10 Jan 2018 01:00 AM PST

Hey folks,

Welcome to Workshop Wednesday, a community-building, regularly occurring thread on the subreddit!

Workshop Wednesday is a thread aimed at all things crafting, from sharing tips and knowledge, providing assistance, or offering crafting services to others.

Got a way to get more of those pesky crafting mats into your inventory? Have a rare recipe you're willing to produce for others? Just want to help with crafting as a whole? Let the community know here!

Crafting is a deep system in The Elder Scrolls Online with multiple professions, so be sure to participate in the thread whether you're a crafting novice or a master at sweetroll baking.

Please keep in mind the 'no personal attacks' rule in our sidebar, disagree respectfully with others, and know that a repeated or seemingly obvious bit of knowledge may not be obvious to everyone.

In addition, please be careful about posting in-game information about your account name/characters for conducting crafting business. We recommend contact information be shared privately to keep your account secure.

We look forward to your contributions!

I struggled to find a name for an Argonian and ended up just describing my playstyle. I liked it so much that I created two more of it now.

To everyone new to ESO and/or only just discovering this subreddit

Posted: 09 Jan 2018 06:11 PM PST

Hi, welcome. You're new here. I get that. There's been a rash of posts lately that are forbidden by the sub's rules so I just want to point your attention to the sidebar over on the right that lists them. You'll get downvotes if you post these kinds of threads because people are kind of weary of seeing them. Plus they'll be reported by lots of people, and deleted by the mods so posting them here is just a waste of your time and effort. If you're new to reddit, every sub has posting rules, which you should read before posting on a (new to you) sub for the first time.

So, no looking for bite posts. No looking for guild or group posts. No looking for crafter posts. There are subreddits for those. All listed in the sidebar.

As for if it's worth it to get into the game: yes, we all think so, that's why we're playing. As for you, only you can tell if you like the game so give it a try or wait for the next sale. The game was on sale over Christmas so it might be awhile before the next sale.

The population on all platforms is fine. We all have a large influx of noobs just like you and so the starter zones in particular are very busy right now.

Also, check the sidebar for links to new player tips and other very helpful links.

Have fun and happy gaming.

I'm being threatened

Posted: 09 Jan 2018 10:31 PM PST

So this guy sent me the mask from last Halloween for 70k. I declined the cod cause that was too much. He got mad and threatened to put me on the "list" if I didn't give him 3.5k for the COD expense. What do I do?
Here's the screen shots of the conversation. https://imgur.com/gallery/opnpA Was I wrong or what?

Um...does selling through a guild really get you THAT much more gold?

Posted: 10 Jan 2018 12:14 AM PST

I was curious and looked up weapons to buy through a guild. The weapon cost 1,500 gold when it was worth about 25 via a vendor. Do people actually pay that 1,500? I only have ~4,500 right now. That's huge.

Returning player, CP288 MagSorc, in desperate need of help to get back into the game. ANY help is much appreciated..

Posted: 10 Jan 2018 03:41 AM PST

I just recently started playing ESO again after taking a break immediately after the champion point change, and had several questions about changes to the game (mainly builds/gear) I was hoping someone could assist me with. I suppose it would be easiest to state my abilities and weapons/armor, then ask my questions in a numerical format.

I am currently a CP 288 MagSorc on Xbox

Front Bar: 1-Crystal Frag > Liquid Lightning > Haunting Curse > Force Pulse > Inner Light

Back Bar: 1-Elemental Drain > 2-Shattering Prison(strictly for random trash CC) > 3-Power Surge > Hardened Ward > Inner Light

Ultimate – Currently using Overload

I play using a scuf controller with weapon swap mapped to a paddle, so the weapon swap is extremely fast with minimal(if any) effect on rotation DPS.

Weapons – Nirnhoned Julianos Destro staff and Infused Magnus Destro Staff

Armor – 4 Julianos, 1 Magnus, 2 Torugs Pact – All armor are Divines

(to clarify, I have the 5 set of Julianos, 2 set Magnus, and 2 set Torugs)

boon – Thief

1 – I have seen several new-ish builds from Alcast and ShredGaming. Are they pretty up to date, because it seem that my old one is garbage now. Any recommendations from other players on a good build? (preferably not a pet build, I find them annoying/braindead to play with lol)

2 – Before I left, destro and dual wield was good for spell power. Currently I see a fair amount of people running destroy/destroy or destroy/shock. Should I hop on this bandwagon?

3 – Should I still run maelstrom arena for the staff?

4 – What Monster helm/should set should I be farming for, and which dungeons should I be farming for gear? Also, I have a crap ton of undaunted keys saved up. Which chest should I open in hopes for the set?

5 – How messed up is my armor/weapons right now? Can these sets still hold their own? Is divines still a really good trait to use?

6 – Lastly, Is there anything specific I should be doing to update and keep my gear current? i.e. specific dungeons, normal trials? I have almost all traits researched for woodworking, clothing, and blacksmithing, and my enchanting is almost maxed, and I have a ridiculously stocked guild bank right now at my disposal. Should I craft different sets?

I think that is it for now. I apologize for the huge wall of text, I have been researching things the past few days and these were the last questions that I couldn't find current/concrete answers on. To be honest, I'm kind of floundering in information overload right now with all the changes to the game, and I think this would help me feel A LOT more stable lol.

Thank you so much for any help you can give me!

EDIT: I suck at formatting =(

Warden class a good tank?

Posted: 10 Jan 2018 03:16 AM PST

I recently made a return to the game and I wanted to make a fresh character to play with my friends. I was wondering if the warden class is worth making if I wanted to make a tank. I would do DK but I'm not really feeling the class. I haven't seen to much on the warden so I figured I could get some info from here. Thanks for any info/advice in advance

What is the downside of having No-CP battlegrounds?

Posted: 09 Jan 2018 09:22 PM PST

Right now in battlegrounds I'm having a good time playing but all I see are people on here and in other forums crying about how everything in BGs in unfair to them with CPs enabled. So I want to know what are the cons for No-CP BGs?

Your FPS may be about to fall due to 'Spectre' CPU firmware

Posted: 10 Jan 2018 02:56 AM PST

... especially for Haswell and earlier processors. See here: https://www.theverge.com/2018/1/9/16868290/microsoft-meltdown-spectre-firmware-updates-pc-slowdown

Windows 10 running on Haswell or older CPUs "show more significant slowdowns" and "some users will notice a decrease in system performance"

Windows 7 or Windows 8 running on Haswell or older CPUs means "most users will notice a decrease in system performance"

This is due to new CPU firmware updates re: Spectre - NOT Meltdown which was mitigated by OS patches. The performance impact of this is worse than the recent OS updates and seems likely performance in ESO will be affected since it has an atypical reliance on single-core cpu performance

Why so salty?

Just curious but why does most people in PvP cry about anything you'll use to win? Like if you beat someone with light attacks there will be someone to cry about it.
