Completed Warlock cosplay with Wings of Sacred Dawn from ECCC 2018

Posted: 12 Apr 2018 06:02 PM PDT

Just wanted to share my completed Warlock cosplay from Destiny 2! I chose Wings of Sacred Dawn and the Optimacy gear with the Nebula Rose shader. All pieces were completely hand made by me for ECCC 2018 in Seattle, WA. There are 8 neopixel rings within the wings and one neopixel strip within the sword to add some light up effects!

Sometimes ya love rng sometimes ya don't I guess! I've done multiple NFs on both normal and prestige with score over 100K and no luck. Members of my fireteam have seen their second drop while grinding with me. Feels bad.

Destiny 2 Light Level Update

Posted: 13 Apr 2018 09:17 AM PDT

What are you guys thoughts on the new power level update. It's cool that enemies are getting stronger so you'll notice a difference when getting to the recommended. But it doesn't seem to matter once you get beyond the recommended. All seems kinda pointless.

Prestige Tree of Probabilities: Strategy Suggestion and Tips!

Posted: 13 Apr 2018 08:15 AM PDT

Hey everyone - I'm back this week with another Prestige Nightfall strategy guide! If you're looking for something that will help you get a clean run or if you just want to try various team set-ups then I hope this will help. So let's get to it!

Our Challenge Card:

Arc singe. I know, you're asking "why? don't the Cabal have arc guns?" Yes, they do, but this will make sense as I go through the guide.

Power Handicap: 14. This is the sweet spot. If you don't want the red skulls next to the enemy health bars signaling a hefty damage drop off, this is the way to go. We broke 80k with this handicap so your team will have no trouble breaking the 60k threshold with this.

Team Composition:

Three Arcstriders w/ Raiden Flux. Breeze through the Infinite Forest and do big time damage on the boss.

Weapon Load Outs:

As usual, use what you're most comfortable with, but Kinetic weapons like Better Devils and Origin Story are great choices.

For Energy weapons: Uriel's Gift, Positive Outlook, and Manannan remain solid options. All three of us ran Better Devils. Two ran Manannan, and one ran Uriel's.

Power weapons: Linear fusions remain supreme for taking down those tanky yellow bars. They also do about 3.5k damage to the boss on a non-crit hit. They do 5k+ on a head crit, and a hefty 7k+ on the crit on his back! However, if you don't have one, RLs like Sins of the Past and Curtain Call are great options as well.

Part 1: Approach the Infinite Forest Gateway

Kill all the Cabal in this area to buff your score. Nothing too hard about it, but since they do Arc damage, just make sure you aren't too aggressive as they will kill you very quick (then again, they'll do that no matter which burn you're using). Just stick together and take your time. Make sure to take out the turrets as well; they're super annoying.

When you get to the steps in front of the IF gateway, there will be a yellow bar Colossus. You can take him down easily using Linear FRs and scout rifle shots. Proceed to eliminate the rest of the Cabal in the area as well, and then make your way into the IF.

Part Two: Track the Cabal

This is the Infinite Forest part. It's a drag and buffing your score really depends on the enemy composition of each section. On our 80k+ run we made it out of the IF with about 47k. Each time we got around 75-77k we made it through with about 40k. This really came down, again, to how many enemies were in each area.

So, this is why we ran 3 Arcstriders and used Arc singe. By now, at least one of your supers should be up and if it isn't they will be after the first IF section.

What we did was we chained our supers through the IF. So, one person uses Arcstrider to clear one area with the other two teammates supporting them, then a second person uses theirs in the next area, then the third, and so on.

If you're making sure you're picking up as many orbs as you can, you will be able to successfully use an Arcstrider in pretty much every IF section. This is not only good for score, but it's also good for time. You will absolutely blow through any yellow bar and group of enemies.

Now, on the last section of the IF, you have to kill a bunch of Cabal. Don't use an Arcstrider here. Rather, have the people running scouts take down the Psion snipers first, and then just team shoot the rest of the Cabal. Again, they do Arc damage so don't get too aggressive. Let them come to you and simply team shoot them as they do.

Part Three: Eliminate Hostiles (Simulant Past)

This is where you want to use Arcstrider. The other two can stay back and take down as many sniper Psions as possible. It is possible for the Arcstrider to take down all the adds here including the Centurion, but if you don't think you will have enough super, just clear as much as you can and then drop back. You can easily team shoot the remaining enemies down.

Use your sparrow to cross the gap. We stopped along the way to kill the Cabal. It doesn't take long and it will give you a decent amount of points heading into the next section of the strike. You don't have to do this, but if you're making good time like we were, might as well just get the extra points!

Part Four: Find the Cabal Leader (Atlas Grove)

Here's another good area to chain Arcstriders. You can effectively clear the first two sections of Cabal with one of them, with the other two teammates following close behind and taking down those pesky Psion snipers.

When the ship spawns in, this is where the next Arcstrider will go to work. The other two teammates can stay back and eliminate any stray Cabal that drop behind the Arcstrider. The Arcstrider should prioritize killing the yellow bar Gladiator that drops as well.

If you still have enough super energy to make it into the first phase of the boss and kill the group of Legionaries then do it. But, if you don't, just wait for your teammates.

Part Five: Valus Phase One

When you enter the first arena, there will be a group of Legionaries waiting at the bottom. Do not drop down! Instead, just kill them from atop the platform. Watch out for their grenades, and back up as needed so you don't die because they will melt you very quick.

After they're gone drop down into the arena. Valus will body slam the giant Minotaur into smithereens and then the fight will start. Damage Valus until the first wave of adds spawns in, then focus on them. Make sure you also get the sniper Psions that drop in at the top of the arena!

Continue to be aware of Valus as you're killing the adds. He will follow you around, shoot at you, and try and smash you into the walls as well. Once the adds are down, damage Valus. After you take down about a third of his health, Vex will spawn in and Valus will bounce out of there.

During this phase, it's pretty easy to take down the yellow bar Minotaur and the Harpies. Just make sure you're watching out for the lasers as they will incinerate you very fast! Jumping on top of one of the pillars is an easy way to bypass the lasers, but it will make you an easier target for the adds to shoot at.

Part Six: Valus Phase Two

Adds will spawn in at the start of this phase, so focus on them first before doing any damage to Valus.

Once the first set of adds are down, do some damage to Valus. A second wave will spawn, and this is a good place to use an Arcstrider. Clear the Legionaries that drop down, the other two teammates can kill any Psions that might still be up. The Arcstrider can then do damage to the boss.

Note: You will not be able to stun-lock Valus. He will do his smash attack on you, but if you were around full health when you started attacking him you will be fine.

This damage from the Arcstrider should be enough to push Valus to jump to the third arena. If it's not, just team shoot him until he goes immune and the Vex start to spawn in. Same drill here: just eliminate the Vex and then move on. Be aware of the lasers that come up as well, but they're pretty easy to avoid in this phase.

Part Seven: Valus Final Phase

Here's where it can get a little tricky, and staggering the remaining two Arcstriders is a crucial part to melting Valus' health down early and quickly.

You'll want to kill the first wave of Legionaries that drop down. Try your best to avoid Valus here. He usually drops to one of the sides you go to, so just use cover as best as you can.

After the first wave of adds is down, damage Valus using power weapons. Once the second wave of adds comes in, this is the time to use an Arcstrider. The Arcstrider should really focus on Valus while the other two teammates kill the Legionaries, but if the adds are in your way going to Valus, then by all means kill them. Throw grenades as needed as those help a lot. Once the adds are down, the other two teammates should use power ammo to help damage Valus.

Call out when your Arcstrider is almost finished. The second Arcstrider should use their super right after you call out, and they should be able to finish Valus with help from teammates. As usual, focus on killing any adds that spawn in first before helping the Arcstrider damage Valus.

If two Arcstriders doesn't completely kill him he will still be extremely low health. This is kind of a "worst case scenario," but don't freak out! Use cover as best as you can, and this is when you want to just focus on Valus. Use any power ammo you have left, and honestly that should be enough to take him down.

Note: PLEASE be aware of the lasers! They really confine the combat area and limit where you can go for cover, so just try your best to make a mental note of when they switch and where they are!

Hopefully this will help your Nightfall team! Honestly, I think people overestimate how bad using the same elemental burn as a boss/majority of enemies will turn out. You'll encounter every elemental enemy weapon in a strike, so no matter which burn you use, there will always be a group of enemies that uses it too. How we think about it is this: what supers are we most comfortable using and how can we buff it even more?

Arcstrider remains the best add clearing super in the game, so in a strike where there are many clusters of enemies (Infinite Forest), it made the most sense for us to use it here, and it ultimately led to our cleanest runs (just over 15 minutes).

As usual, run what you're most comfortable with. This is merely a suggestion if you're looking to try something new or even if you're not sure what to try yet! But, I hope this helps. If you have any specific questions, feel free to drop them in the comments.

Happy gaming!

-Goal

P.S. Hopefully some of you have gotten the hand cannon...I'm on 15 runs this week so far and still haven't gotten it to drop! Grrr!

How many people have gotten the D.F.A Hand Cannon from “Normal” Nightfall as opposed to “Prestige”?

Posted: 13 Apr 2018 06:28 AM PDT

I think more people are getting the new hand cannon from this week's Nightfall on Normal difficultly, instead of the Prestige one.

For those of you who now have the D.F.A, was your Nightfall on Normal or Prestige difficulty?

+50 Power Level increase

Posted: 13 Apr 2018 09:47 AM PDT

Why is no one talking about this? The power level will increase at least 50, maybe all the way up to 400/405. This is pretty significant. Best case scenario, this is a meaty dlc. Worst case, it will take longer to progress. Either is a win.

Where are the achievements?

Posted: 13 Apr 2018 04:47 AM PDT

There are only generic ones from the base. None were added with Osiris. There are so few with vanilla D2, 13 total. With D1 the base had 60 or so IIRC. Achievements also gave us, or at least me, something else to chase. Why would they only have a small handful of generic cheevos?

Returning after a while and

Posted: 13 Apr 2018 03:31 AM PDT

when I go to upgrade armor it doesn't account for the +5 light from my legendary mods anymore.

I mean if I upgrade weapons from 305 to 313 they result with 318 light. My armor just goes to 313

I tried google couldn't find anything
