Weird Question About Venice

Posted: 12 Apr 2018 06:15 PM PDT

What happens when they Great Merchant of Venice a City State with more than one city, I.E., they've conquered another CS or a major civ capital? Do they get the individual city, all holdings of the CS, or does Sid Meier just stop by your house to ask you what the hell?

The Polish Empire is Annexed

Posted: 12 Apr 2018 10:27 AM PDT

Here's a little story about my first game on immortal. I was playing as the polish on YNAEMP Giant Earth TSL map civ 6 and as a result i had Russia to the east, Germany to the west, Norway to the north, Macedon and the Greeks to the south. I had a mod that disabled AI start advantages or else I would get steamrolled by Germany.

My first 30 turns were prosperous and peacful, I even settled in modern day Lithuania. Russia declares war on the Polish empire. Their was massive but spread thin between my capital and Lithuanian city. At this point of the game I was technologically and culturally ahead (european standards, the Far East was wayyy more advanced) I was able to fend off the Russian army and even began a counterattack. They were bringing back their army from their previous Scythian war so I opted for peace and even got a little gold. Life in Poland was great. A city in southern Scandinavia rebelled against Norway and joined Poland. My empire was proseperous and all was quiet. I suddenly noticed a Norwegian army and navy approaching my Scandinavian city and since I didn't have optics yet, all I had was was archers going to try to shoot across the Baltic Sea. Bam the Russians declare was. This time their army is much more advanced and even bigger so I redirected my army from the Baltics and started trying to defeat the Russian army. A German city rebels and joins my empire. The Norwegians declare war and my Scandinavian City is barely able to defend itself. BAM the Germans declare war. At this point my capital has been in red health for most of the Russian war and I just wouldn't be able to fend the Germans off too. Both civs came from opposite sides and I was able to lose my capital. I begged for peace with Russia as I would be able to fend off the Germans. I had to give the Russians the Central European city (formerly German) and the Scandinavian one hoping the eventually they will rebel and come back to me. At least I wouldn't have to worry about the Norwegians now. I'm able to fend off the Germans as most of the tiles connecting us are now Russian lands. Both cities that I gave to Russia rebel and I even popped a settler out. I hoped for a new prosperous age. The Norwegian navy in one turn surrounds my Lithuanian city and takes it. Without it I won't be able to take back the Scandinavian city loyalty wise. I am now down to one city and the Russians give the Germans open borders so basically I'm royaly screwed. I'm thinking about turning back a couple turns on auto save and try to opt for peace with the Norwegians but I'll feel guilty cause that's "cheating". Dunno, maybe I'll have two saves and two different paths.

Help with first 50 turns in Civ 6

Posted: 12 Apr 2018 11:19 AM PDT

I need help understanding what I should be building in the first 50 turns, because I always seem to be way behind the AI come even on King difficulty.

It feels like everything takes forever for me to build, if I focus on food I fall behind on production which in turn means I build less workers, soldiers, more food etc. But if I try to develop production, my city pop seems to stagnate. Mixed into this is the timing of the first couple of city improvements, they seem to take so much production away from other things like settlers or army. I never even touch wonders because when I do, it feels like I fall way behind since they build so slow.

Are there any leader-generic guides to build orders and civics? I just can't seem to figure out what does well together in this game coming from civ 5.

Any Ideas For Co-op Games?

Posted: 12 Apr 2018 01:59 PM PDT

I have a group I regularly play with. We've played about 8 games now, ranging from 3-8hours each. The point being that we're looking for something new to try.

Does anyone have ideas for conditions that might make for good co-op games? A challenge that we could only win by working together? The only idea I have had is really hard ai, or seeing if that zombie survival mod works in multiplayer

Thanks!
